thats the problem with most all wheel drive systems... it doesnt really work well and it doesnt send enough power to the rear wheels.... it waits untill the front tires slip...
@capang9555 It all depends on what 4WD/AWD drive system you have. Some systems have numerous different settings. Most of the time, it is just driver error.
1) I am astonished that guy could not back into that parking stall. Seriously? It isn't that difficult. 2) He obviously doesn't know how to rock the car out of there. Sad.
@Dora1692 Yeah, like the guy(s) talking in the video, he needed to pull all the way forward in the spot and step on it in reverse! To be fair, there was just under 2ft of snow that took everyone by surprise. Many people in these videos were unprepared, and were not expecting any snow at all!
Due to the lack of hatch badging and rear wheelspin, I think the Ford Escape (upper left of video) was FWD, not AWD. Machsad, you and your friend's commentary was pretty much correct: these people didn't know what they're doing. Yeah, there's a lot of snow, but there's a LOT to said for good technique.
@snowrocket If you are referring to my AWD tag that is for the Ion, not the Esacpe. Not sure what that is. Appretiate the comment, but I was not talking at all. I was focused on filming. I had about 5 people crammed in a corner watching. The one you think is me is probably the guy over my shoulder. lol
@machsad1 Yeah, I know you meant the AWD Saturn Vue (not Ion) SUV. I appreciate that you concentrated on filming. That's why your footage is steady and good. Too much BSing and sudden turning makes for bad footage.
Where is this? it doesn't seem like that much snow. I guess everyone here has bald tires and no snow shovels. The silver car just needed to take like 5 minutes to shovel the snow out from behind him
@NuBmeathax All 5 videos take place in central IL. This area had gotten about 2 feet of snow in one night. The wind had blown around and in some areas it was not that deep. Not many people had shovels in the vehicle(s) because this is a private lot, and normally, it is plowed and cleared for them. If you look in the other videos you will occasionally see a tractor clearing snow and helping stuck cars. Also, some of these drivers had no brains when it came to manueving in the snow.
lol I think if it was me I would move some of the snow with my feet first then I would make sure I have enough momentum as the one in the silver seemed to afraid to do!
what a clown
