She doesn't "turn into" a young woman. She's from the first Jeeg anime, and it's a 'flashback' kind of deal where it shows her as being young-- as she was in the first anime.

Dynamic Production stuff from the 70's was for the 10ish age group and the remakes and Go Nagai manga are for 15ish group. Ken Ishikawa's Getter manga meanwhile encroaches on Seinen territory with it's rampant violence and terrifically high death toll.

Differences:

Zaku 2's been in service 1-2 years.

Gouf was a redesign of the Zaku for ground combat. Not a huge tech jump.

Dom was developing at the same time. It had it's own downsides though, unlike a certain gundam (Freedom).

And Zeong was incomplete (the legs and all). And did I mention Zeong was the least advanced Newtype unit? Using Wire arms and all instead of Bits and considering said arms drained energy from Zeong's reactor?

Again, SEED is crap. It literally fuses parts of, if I remember, 0079, Zeta, and Wing into one giant piece of generally acknowledged Fail. If you watched those 3 you'd see all those similarities quite easily.

There's a reason Seed was "Awesome" to you: you didn't see the originals to see how BADLY it only suceeded due to it's predecessors.

@KatomaMundara Truth be told, SEED wasn't that bad. Sure, it had plot holes, plot armor, and some characters were just stupid, and we'll never forget about the stock footage. But some parts were pretty enjoyable, and I really liked Mu. We could say that SEED was "kinda bad, but enjoyable". But that doesn't give you the right to tell other people to hate it.

Believe me, I hate lots of things about SEED, but that behavior puts you in worse position those fans you want to lecture.

@HarverTheSlayer yeah seed was alright, first series was better than the second, didn't see the need for destiny, thing i didn't like about seed was the kira being a bit too overpowered at times, that and athrun making the same mistakes again, destiny just felt like a repeat to me, which is why i did prefer gundam 00 to seed, although then again, setsuna did pull the same kind of overpowered shit in that anime as well lol at least it didnt use the same ideas for its second season
