Woodrat girl - Mick was a genius - one of the best guitarists ever - makes the rest look like total pussies including slash, zappa this is how a geetar should be played.
@kiekiek slash, zappa and bowie are all connected to each other in a big way that i don't think you have a clue about. none of them would be slagging each other so shut your mouth.
i just bought this album its awesome so raw and really punky rock and roll some might say it was sloppy but i say it helps you realize the genius thats is Bowie :3
@dejahthoris me too mate it has silver bits in it, but its still there, I get a bit sick of the sad twats who don't get it though........... the why have you got an 80's haircut etc fucking thick ignorant gets
Gemma, there were the kids eating food, dancing, fucking in the last back rows later on...what an era...the era of the greatest...I would never trade my past for millions of anything...
Yeah, the spiders, I know, Mick is a great guitar player, but for me Trevor Bolder and Woody wodmansey are great too, they made a great band. The bass guitar sounds incredible the whole concert.
But alas... it wasn't orange as I was only about 12! I DID do hot pink though many years later... and there were also many years of blue-black! I was also platinum for a very long time... and who knows what it will be tomorrow!
PS...to us, at that time, David was the MOST GORGEOUS man, and he was like a living Glitter Rock Messiah to us. I recall how the crowd would part, like the parting of the Red Sea when he would walk in to watch a Dolls show at the Mercer Arts Center at the height of the evening, with everyone dancing. There was NO ONE like him. That silent, cool, power, yet so nice and down to earth if you were hanging in his circle. Mick Ronson was a GORGEOUS man too, with beaucoup charisma! RIP Mick.
God I would LOVE to hear more of your stories. How wonderful that you were THERE in amongst all that cool music, fashion, clubbing. You must have the best memories of that scene.
riff88m, you are RIGHT. I am 52, and I am from NYC, and was THERE at the Hammersmith Odeon in 73, and from the time I was 14, I hung with people like David and the Dolls at Max's. If it wasn't for people like David and the NY Dolls, and all the Glitter rock, there would NEVER have been Punk, some years later.
I was among one of the Original Punks, in NYC and LDN, and I can say I agree with you. David and also Mott the Hoople were the ones we looked up to when it was Glitter Rock, and then we moved to Punk. If it wasn't for David, Mick, and all the guys in Mott, and the NY Dolls, there would never have been Punk.
I know this came out like few years before Punk came out, but this song sounds so Punk Rock back then. Nobody can say that Bowie did not influence Punk.
EVERY time I have ever heard Ronson's solo in this recording, the hair stands up on my neck and I get goose bumps. One of the greatest moments in rock and roll in my mind!
I only have one thing to say....Nigel Tufnel.

@loopert1000 don't compare slash with zappa, zappa is ten times greater, and definitely not a pussy.

Hey everyone. What I don't understand is that a while back, he announced he was gay, but today I found out he has a wife and a kid.
How does that work?
