  • hmmm that vocalist blows. He's just not settling right. And the lyrics.. wtf is this? Dungeons and Dragons?

  • The lyrics are very reminiscent of BTBAM's Alaska.

    Not upset.

  • @OwnageOtter I will second that, man.

  • haha thank god they made a lyric video!! this shits unintelligible. in a good way though.

  • For satans tits release this album already!!!

  • This is realy realy good stuff! :O

  • why do I think of scrambled eggs now? weird

  • This song is metal

  • Reading the lyrics has just made me fall I'm love with this song all over again. Can't wait to see you guys on tour before you head off to the U.S. With Protest the Hero.

  • so is this song about edgar allen poe?

  • 3:25 begins the best riff I've EVER heard. These guys have such an original sound that it blows my mind!

  • Comment removed

  • 39 people need to be hit in the head with huge hammers

  • remind me of The Eyes of a Traitor mixed with Isis and Protest The Hero

  • Periphery, Protest The Hero, Jeff Loomis and The Safety Fire? UMM FUCK YEAH

  • djent?

  • @MrRedpinapple NO. Just because its progressive metal doesn't mean its "djent".

  • @nostealthebucket9009 wait so im actually confused what is this then

  • @MrRedpinapple progressive metal.

  • @nostealthebucket9009 You COULD argue it's Mathcore/DJent. But that's being fussy and noting sporadic time signatures as opposed to Prog. Metal, it has a lot of elements from other genres but to start a genre war over this would be a hard task to accomplish as there's no "solidarity" on the genre itself and it's open to interpretation as to which genres others "hear". We'll leave it at Djent/Mathcore/Prog. Metal.

  • This Needs to be Instrumental!

  • This is really sexy.

  • im so fucking pumped, when are you gonna release this? i need to know damn it

  • @Dtoburn2 27.2.2012 is the date i think

  • Pizza flesh in my eyes. Big pizza shrapnel

  • Just the best song around right now.

Hope they release more of this.

  • 3:25 - 4:15 Sickest riff I've heard in a while.

  • THIS IS INCREDIBLE!!

  • i think they'd be better as instrumental band, not too keen on the lyrics

  • i sware at 2:28 i can hear the facebook instant messaging tone!!!!

  • Really happy for the boys at TSF. Well deserved!

  • I can rarely understand what he's saying when he's angry, but to be fair with that amount of anger, I don't wanna know :)

  • huh.. hey beavis i love soaking in red

  • holy fuck, this is awesome.

  • do you scribbbbblllleeeee?

  • first song i listened to in 2012!!!!!

  • This is just amazing, i think these guys have grown so much. Not that the older stuff wasn't amazing. They have just skipped through this "djent" thing and made their own style. I love the guitar tone of 'djent' though the bands these days are just boring. i hope these guys crush bands like periphery

  • This song has seriously grown on me. I listen to it like 6 times a day now :P

  • @Frescoting Agreed, when this lyric video came out, it didn't hit me. But recently it's finally clicked! SO GOOD

  • i like the vocals, definately something different

  • best vocalist i've heard in awhile.. utterly amazing

  • Cleans = amazing. Screams... not so much

  • Sounds a little like Human Abstracts old singer

  • Omg guyz, like wut genre is this, cuz like if I find out, my perception of the song will totally change and my preconceptions will mean that I either like it or don't.

  • @meddeyc LOL so true!! fuck scene kid faggots

  • @meddeyc sounds kinda Djenty... I think so.... check this dude out and ask him he knows better than me.... /watch?v=Pi5qZXByprk&feature=related

  • @meddeyc its hip hop

  • @murdercure y u so funny?

  • @meddeyc its music : )

  • So... is this progressive or metalcore?

  • @zxtlpn I think its progressive

  • @zxtlpn from what I hear in the vocals it's pretty much progressive metalcore or djent, but people call everything djent these days... mostly progressive I'd say though :)

  • This is really good! I wish it had more clean vocals, I don't really like the screams

  • and THATS why I'm a DJENTLEMAN!

  • I like literally every single thing about this.

  • you can change the speed of the video by pressing "normal" beside the annotations button :)

  • @TheFashel12 Sounds awesome and dancey as fuck at 1.5x!

  • It seems that I'm the only one that loves the living fuck out of the vocals, no matter how repetitive. I chubbed up many times.

  • @MyScaryScrotum naw man i love vocals aswell! so new so different so good!

and im not even mentioning the music!

  • F*cking Epic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • February 28th album release in US

  • Groovy shit at 2:45 is so pleasing to my ears

  • not a fan of the lyrics. the vocals are kinda different so i dig them. and of course the music itself is killer.

  • This is Zane Lowe's favourite song

  • Massive tune!

  • His voice remains me of the Killing Joke vocals XD Awesome!!

  • OH GOD IT WANTS MY EYES

  • Comment removed

  • could have seen them live but instead was in starbucks with ben tovey from rise to remain :D

  • @jimmyhellyeah123 I'm sorry to hear that.

  • @jimmyhellyeah123 Bad deal.

  • @jimmyhellyeah123 gutted

  • 3:25 just made me pure jizz but I ran out by then. :(

  • I hate when people bitch about good music. Don't listen to it fuck-o's . Who gives a shit what the lyrics are or are not about, it's not your song. The Safety Fire fucking rules.

  • kinda repetive singing.. vocals are the same all the time

  • @BrutalPodSmoker True. The redeeming factor about the song in my opinion though is the gorgeous riffing towards the end of the song. The beginning is meh but the jazz part followed by those riffs really make the song enjoyable for me.

  • @BrutalPodSmoker

    How so? HOW SO?!?!?

    You're so wrong.

  • random word generator for the lyrics?

  • @ParkaDez

    "Download this track for free!"

You are the reason why bands like The Safety Fire will never get mainstream.

  • @m4ssee How so?

  • @ParkaDez

Well, if you just get their music for free, how are they able to survive without getting any income?

  • @m4ssee I appreciate your concern about my bands livelihood, but the

link I put up there is to a sampler that the record label released for

free. Still though, you should definitely go and buy our album when

    it's released next month! ;)

  • @ParkaDez I like it when member's of the band get involved and give people sneak-peaks. Good shit.

Also, whoever writes the lyrics in your band is a fucking god.

  • @m4ssee

selling albums isn't really the best way to make money for a band these days anyways. espescially if you're signed to a major record company.

    it's all about the shows.

    and selling crack.

  • @m4ssee The Safety Fire decided to make their tracks available for download for free. So what the fuck are you talking about?

  • Comment removed

  • p.s. good work on this track also \m/

  • A very good band, totally sick.

They headlined a gig I conjured up for my 21st bday couple years ago in London. lol.

Always thought theyd be making big waves, and be only a matter of time before they are considered one of the biggest and best new bands to rock out.

Big Up to the Safety Fire, awesome work to them lads. \m/

  • I saw these supporting rise to remain in manchester, didnt know who they where but i recorded it and i was the only one recording so he came up to my camera a couple of time and sang into it for me, im glad to find out that they are pretty fucking awesome :)

  • this is fucking sick!

  • Digging the song, only issue is the fucking lyrics, they make no fucking sense.

  • @EvilJesusWTF i think thats the point

  • @emshagger222 That is some shitty lyrical writing then.

  • @EvilJesusWTF so is salvador dali a shitty painter?

  • @niabwerd I never really liked his stuff.

  • @EvilJesusWTF They are written in a more poetic form than most lyrics. Just because they don't make sense to you doesn't mean they don't make sense. I personally love the way they are written. It's different.

  • @Counterweight22 To each his own. I still think the guy can't write.

  • @EvilJesusWTF I totally understand where you are coming from though. I sort of thought that about Fair to Midland's lyrics (don't know if you listen to them) where it looks like someone haphazardly threw a bunch of thoughts or phrases together without any type of cohesion or flow.

  • @Counterweight22 I love Fair to Midland, but yeah I understand what you are getting at. I had the same issue with their lyrical writing as well.

  • @Counterweight22 it warms my heart when people talk about fair to midland on videos that aren't fair to midland. they're growing :)

  • @cheetosfreetodorito1 Haha. It is only a matter of time before everyone realizes how amazing they are. One of the most unique bands on the planet.

  • get chills at "it wants my eyes"

  • love the vox

  • Amazing song and video!

  • You say it's similar to djent songs, you mean it's prog. Most non-metalcore djent songs are prog with a djent tone.

  • @gconetta exactly, djent is JUST a tone lol

  • Can't...stop...listening

  • WRIIIIIIIITHE

  • This song is just insanely catchy....so technical, so violent, yet so calm and "ear candy"! Can't wait to hear the rest of your debut album!!!

  • @botzensession look for Sections EP...

  • This is the most infectious song ever.

  • Quite incredible song, one of the best i've heard in 2011, just 4:32 but so intense.

  • I would totally agree.

  • motherfucker this must be the 10th i'm listening to this song today. it's just so different but freaking awesome. thank you, the safety fire!

  • epic as fuck

  • Djent...

  • @Tdubz4duece0 on their facebook they've put themselves down as progressive. Personally I'd agree, progressive, djenty, groove metal ;D

  • @KBagaz djenty? say whaaaaaat

  • @KBagaz okay not necessarily 'djenty' per say, I meant like they have a similar sound to other bands that would usually incorporate Djent in there. Groovy as fuuuuuuuuuuuuck...

  • um, whats the genre?

  • @CradleShocks fucking awesome is the genre

  • Man... I feel so.. "At home" in this genre. Beautiful song.

  • the only thing this song is hurting is my neck and my insurance company from wanting to fuck shit up!

  • The screams or whatever you want to call it are really cool! I like it! Cleans are also awesome.

  • Djenty Mastodon

  • @kkimberling At first I was like... wtf is this guy talking about, but now I totally see it. Classic blood mountain verse style. Both bands are fucking amazing!

  • @kkimberling Mastodjent?

  • @kkimberling couldn't have put it better myself. even sounds a little like Animals as Leaders in the clean sections

  • lyrics are so fucking good

  • At first I didn't know what to think about this. Then I didn't like it. A month later, I'm listening to it constantly. It's a wonder how music like this works.

  • @HeWhoAbides2011 I was the same, though it only took about a week to really like it. Everything about the song is absolutely sick once you get a liking for the vocals.

  • @Psyshimmer The vocals were fine by the off from me, on grounds that I'm quite the fan of other djenty bands who use these type of vocals

  • @Psyshimmer I couldn't agree more. The clean vocals are completely hypnotic. Also, the clean transition / interlude is just serene, in my opinion. Our producer has yet to show me a band I haven't liked.

  • mudvayne? chad gray abit i love it xD

  • This sounds soooooooooo much like The Arusha Accord's first EP. Thumbs up if you agree

  • Unreal. Can't wait for the album!

  • this entire song is stuck in my head and after a few listens the video has effectively tattooed the lyrics into my brain

  • Reminds me of Nathan Ells.

  • Can't wait for this shit to come out

  • Saw them live a little whle ago. They were good. But, bleed from within played after them in which massively shown them up as they are massive fan pleasers

  • Saw these guys last night, outstanding. The guitarists use the incredibly difficult "sexy style" of guitar playing, which gets me all excited.

  • This is pretty much like Periphery, awesome music!

  • Comment removed

  • These guys did pretty good supporting Rise To Remain. Had never heard of them, but their lead guitarist put on a helluva show!

  • @Sitrukpiano i thought they were better than both bleed from within and rise to remain. just my opinion but it thought they put on a better show.

  • i had the chance to see them live already and they made such a good show. i love the first album but this one is even better. keep up the good work! awesome band!

  • fucking straight up love this shit

  • i love it! can't wait for the album to be released.

  • Fuck, this got me since the first time I listened, waiting for the album....

  • i cant wait to hear the full album... they may end up in my top favourite few bands :) i really hope so this is (in my opinion) a new take on a few different genres around now, this could be a game changer

  • My favourite vocalist in metal at the moment, god damn that shit is BRUTAL

  • My favourite vocalist in metal at the moment, god damn that shit is BRUTAL

  • TELL ME Y THE FUCK IS DESIGN THE SKYLINE IN THE SUGGESTION. YOUTUBE FIX THAT SHIT.

  • saw these live last night with bleed from within, rise to remain and cytota :)

  • @SuicideSilenceeee IM OFF TO THE SAME GIG!! at the leeds show that is, anygood?

  • i must have this!

  • Vocals sound a bit like Lemmy from Motorhead!

  • HAHA GO ON JO

  • fuckin awesome man ! love this song very much <3

  • this guys vocals...ARE THE FUCKIN BOMBB

  • Damn it, you should have disabled the comments.

  • To anyone who is seriously trying to say the lyrics suck, obviously you haven't looked into them at all. There's absolutely nothing wrong with these lyrics. They're poetic and contain hidden meaning, as do most lyrics, and pretty much all GOOD lyrics do.

I have a feeling the people who are complaining about them are the type of people who think good lyrics are "I wanna see you cry, bitch!" and other "brutal" face-value scribblings.

  • @SteeleInd the singer used to be an English teacher.

  • @SteeleInd The Safety Fire >>>>>>> Defiler

  • @18YearsONLYforvidoes

Words can not describe how much better TSF is than that shit band.

  • THANK YOU!

  • seriously where can I get this, been running up and down the internet and I cant find shit

  • 3:37-4:16 is pure gold. The rest of the song is also unreal.

  • First song to bring me to tears in about 7 years.

  • That tone is absolutely perfect.
