  • For those who don't get this...Elmo probably taught you everything you know.

  • I once worked with a guy who had a voice similar to that little ball. LOL

  • Lol who has three balls

  • Those balls sound possessed.

  • for really dumb kids

  • That was weird. Anyone know who does the voices of these balls?

  • @muppetfan33 Unfortunately, it's not possible to determine any specific details about these vintage Sesame Street clips...not available on the internet anywhere. I've spent countless years trying to find out who sings "Daddy Dear". Such a shame that kind of information can't be found anywhere. I even contacted Sesame Workshop but they can't make the time for anybody, they choose to ignore you, or they simply don't know.

  • does any understand what they are saying? sounds like a shit salesman with a mouthful of samples

  • Recently I played with the sound in Sound Recorder a little bit to figure out what they might be saying. When I speed it up, the big ball is just saying, "Roll, roll, roll" over and over again. When I slow it down, the smallest ball is clearly saying, "There we go...ahhhhh" at the end. And I think the medium-sized ball is just babbling.

  • I loved watching this when I was little. But seeing it for the first time as an adult, it rather sounds like Jawas engaging in S&M, maybe with a little bestility with some Banthas.

  • @StevenShields29 Thanks for the mental image, you perv! LOL!!!!

  • @dragondancer1814 Sorry. But you know, listening to it again, I think that I was right. Oops, *bestiality.

  • @dragondancer1814 Sorry. But you know, listening to it again, I think that I was right. Oops, *bestiality. 0:21 - 0:27 sounds like the Bantha is getting it on with one of the Jawas. Oy!

  • I always loved this little bit. But now, seeing it as an adult for the first time, if I close my eyes, it sorta sounds like Jawa S&M and sex.

  • the littlest ball has the funniest voice

  • I'd forgotten about this segment until now. Thanks for the upload!

  • Oh wow, this takes me back! Has it been 30 years already? I remember watching this with my sister and we were both terrified of the big ball's deep haunting creepy voice. It's funny what can scare and traumatize children but laugh it off as adults.

  • Krank!!

  • the big ball's voice reminds me somehow of the old man on Pawn Stars

  • @treadley LMAO well the little one can't be Chumlee that's for sure.

  • The large ball sounds like my stomach, the medium ball sounds like he's enjoying himself WAY too much, and the small ball sounds like my mother-in-law.

  • @quirpco Ahhhh....I believe the middle ball is "female"....at least the voice seems to indicate such.

  • @quirpco LOL!!! I did think the big one sounded Waaay too much like the grumbling of an empty stomach!!

  • I still enjoying those noises

  • Papa Ball, Mama Ball, & Baby Ball.

  • @SnowbirdFlock Rats! I see I was NOT the only person to say that! Too many comments!

  • Here's a question: does anyone know how this was made? To me, it doesn't look like it's any sort of stop-motion animation. It actually looks like its live-action. (especially the big ball) It almost looks like they utilized magnets underneath the set.

  • @IKFKSwitch

Probably. They would have had to have someone watching the top to tell the underneath guy with the magnet what to do.

  • @PandaMishima I always thought this was stop-motion film. The way they're wiggling doesn't seem quite like a magnet.

  • The bighest ball sounds like me for an hour after I first wake up in the morning.

  • those things remind me or creepy insects

  • YOU FOUND IT!!!

You have no idea how long Ive been looking for this freaky thing.

  • the big one sounds like me with a killer hangover... LOL

  • the smallest one sounds like johnny knoxville from jackass

  • rrrrRRRRRrrrrrrrRRRRRRRRrrrrrRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrr.

  • The smallest one reminds me of E.T

  • anyone remember M*A*T*H

  • The big ball voice reminds me of that "Oh Yeah" song from ferris bueller's day off.

  • The large ball sounds like an HBO short take from the 1970s called flesh eating film reels. Large ball sounds just like the film reels. If you've never seen it, check it out, pretty freaky!!

  • The medium-sized ball sounds like Michael Jackson.

  • The little ball sounds like Mumbles from UPA's The Dick Tracy Show!

  • Anyone remember the one where the ball was in a house and there was like a pool of water, I just barely remember I want to see it again lol.

  • Was it live action like this or animated?

  • I believe it was live action.

  • @usercky86306

Little ball was thinking about fish, went and found a mobile of fish nearby, that then turned into a film about fish. He might have fallen asleep, as he woke up and his hole was full of water. I'd like to see that again too.

  • What the HELL? No wonder I grew up this way! What kind of drugs were the creators of this stuff on?

  • Well... for your information the other two segments related to this one are on this site now; the one where the small ball looks at a mirror, the other where it sees a fish mobile, imagines that they're real fish.

  • Love the little one at the end going aaaaaaaaah

  • the middle ball sounds like Bart Simpson on acid!

  • No CGI, folks! Analog rules!!!

  • This was my favorite clip when I was a child.

  • this is fucking cool

  • The smallest ball sounded like E.T. gargling with mouthwash

  • Was this the only version they ever made? For some reason, I seem to remember two others that I only saw once. I can't help but wonder if it was something I made up in my head. ;-)

  • I seem to recall another one also. If someone knows.....please reply. Thanks.

  • OMG! I haven't seen this one in probably over 35 years. This made my sister and I laugh so hard. The sound of the balls was so funny.

  • The big balls voice is hilarious!!

OMG I haven't seen this in ions!!

    It's soooo funny!!!

    Thanks!!

  • you said 'big balls'

  • Yeah yeah heh heh heh heh heh heh mheh heh

  • there was a color version of this, maybe it was displayed on a black and white tv?

  • I watched this one tonight and realized that the three balls sound like they're mumbling Japanese, but that the little one and big one have had the speed of their dialogue modulated.

    Anyone else notice this?

  • I haven't seen that in a while.

  • This made me roar with laughter when I was a kid.

Still does, as it turns out. I love the middle ball trying to get out of the big hole. Although, now that I listen to it, from about :15 on it sounds like the middle ball is having sex.

  • HA HA HA HA!

  • Love the sound effects and vocals from the three balls. This video is very cute and enjoyable!

  • Who is doing the voice of the big ball?

  • Well, people always wanted to know what Chris Barnes from Cannibal Corpse was like as a kid

  • sounds like me in the morning

  • why do the balls want to go in the holes? They never explained either.

  • So they don't just roll around needlessly? Maybe the balls have to sit in the holes so they can rest, like a relief from being on your feet all day, just a guess.

  • they are teaching size. big medium small. I hope that helps. your welcome. by the way your answer is cute.

  • they are teaching size. big medium small. Hope that helped. Your welcome.

  • Cute clip, though now as an adult, some of those sounds strike me as,... a little inappropriate. Maybe my mind's just in the gutter today.

  • Oh wow! Haven't seen this clip in years. Anyone got any of the other "baby ball" clips?

  • I agree with andigail6sixsixx. The little one sounds like a gremlin. That's great!

  • The medium ball sounds like it's about to cry or something.

  • I always thought it sounded like it was going to ejaculate.

  • the baby ball sounds like a gremlin! LOL!

  • OMG I haven't seen this in years. The big ball always sounded like he had a bad case of gas!

  • Classic indeed!

Thanks for this clip...have not seen this in decades!

  • Either that or very sick. LOL

  • hmmm creepy.....

  • The big ball noise used to scare me. It's still creepy!

  • Yep, I remember this!

  • Weird...

  • Heh-heh, never forgot those weird voices the balls had.

    Ahhhhhhh!!!

  • My 3-year-old nephew laughs his little arse off when he watches this. Especially the little ball at the end: "Aaaaaaaaah."

  • I still laugh at that too.

  • I REMEMBER THIS!!! I haven't seen it in over 30 years but it came back to me. Once again, a segment I never would have thought about for the rest of my life until just now. Thanks so much!

  • i remember the "aahh" part of the little ball the most!

  • I initially thought the small ball said "ahhh" when he went into the middle hole, but it was more of a "ohhh" like "oh no this isn't it".

  • I remember this - especially the 'grumbling' sound of the big ball!

  • Does anyone know what hte balls are saying? I know the tiny one says ball, But what about the other 2?

  • Well, when the small ball goes into the middle hole, it sounds like he's saying "shit" trying to get out.

  • culpit i always thought that too. papa ball etc. and diesfaustus, i remember that winter one too as well. and i think iremember the other baby ball ones as well from the other comments.

  • Baby Ball sounds an awful like Mumbles from UPA's 1961 animated Dick Tracy Show.

  • I mean, an awful LOT like Mumbles.

  • Oh, boy, those voices used to freak me out! Listening now, I think the middle ball was Fran Brill, and the little ball was Jim Boyd from "The Electric Company." That animation was plenty weird, too. I doesn't look like stop motion: what is it? Peace.

  • It's probably magnets underneath the balls. Peace.

  • great post, it triggered a memory as soon as I saw the pic.

  • This one always scared me a bit, esp the ball's voices--esp the Big Ball! Middle Ball sounds like he just ran ten miles on two broken legs, groan, groan.

  • I always thought the big ball was the Papa Ball, the middle ball was the Mama Ball, and the small one was the Baby Ball.

  • That's what I used to think, too! The other two I remember specifically was when the baby ball left his hole and rolled to a huge cube, which eventually turned into a house, and it began to snow at night covering everything in snow, including the baby ball.

  • The other one was when the baby ball came across a mirror, and eventually the viewers could see a tennis game through the mirror. Very weird segments, but interesting. In both cases, everything returned to normal and the baby ball went back to his hole.

  • I also remember one time when the baby ball went back into his hole, he found water in it and started splashing around until all the water was gone.

  • That's the only other one I recall too, seems Baby Ball had bumped into a mobile of fish, and started imagining about them, then he woke up.

  • I've been looking all over for this--many thanks!
