@orioltarragona I couldn't put it in DFU mode either. I took the phone to the local iPhone dealer and just got a new subscription for iPhone 3GS instead. The price per month stayed just about the same. So all and all, this breakdown was a good thing for me as I got a 3GS for "free" to replace my aging 3G. :)
hold home & power buttons until the phone turns off, KEEP HOLDING, the apple logo will re-appear. DONT LET GO, keep holding til it turns off again.
now, hold the home button and connect it to your pc by USB. It will put itself in recovery mode and you can restore,
if you synced with itunes recently there will be a backup to put all your apps/music back on, if not, you can start a fresh phone. :)
