  • YES!!

    i love this ^_^

  • hey what kind of guitar to you recommend for this song?

  • @KewlGuitarLessons It´s a matter of taste. It works with any guitar, even a nylon string. I recommend an archtop with both pickups on.

  • hey at 0:13-0:17 are you bar chording that? or are you just holding the top E string?

  • @Froobspwnz I´m bar chording that.

  • brilliant mate

I've played guitar for years. Now that I'm retired, I'm finally building that blazing speed that's so much fun to play... Thanks for your inspiration, I'm subscribed.... thanks again

    Liebe Grüsse aus Hamburg!

  • He uses a flatpick instead of a thumbpick. I find it hard to create that kind of boom-chicka sound with a flatpick. The guy has a very good technique.

  • dang hecka clean good job

  • Nice work!

  • hey hast du dafür zufällig noten oder tabs?

    wäre echt klasse :)

  • Danke! Leider habe ich keine TABs oder Noten. Die melodie ergibt sich aber ganz gut aus den Akkorden. Versuchs mal.

  • Great cover Mr. That's was a short outstanding performance!

  • What are the chords that you do in 0:25 - 0:27 ?

  • Hi there! It´s A(add9) / F9 / E9

  • man your great. ive been watching your videos and learning alot from them. i play blues and country, i have a video up check it out

  • @jspates56 Thanks! Your a great player!

I wish I would have been that good and soulful in your age.

  • i love it, just keep up the beat, you're a bit hesitant

  • tasty !! my girlfriend likes you.

  • Cool version, I'm going to have to learn the way you did it. It's interesting how different folks come up with different ways of playing the same tune. I figured this out by ear years ago and finger pick it but it really sounds different than the way you came at. Check my version out if you get a chance. I really like your approach. Keep up the good work!!!

  • Thanks! Glad you like my version. I like yours too, you should maybe let the melody come out a bit more through the chords.

  • Hello Holgerbogen! Great cover!! Do you have the tabs for this one?

  • Sorry I dont have tabs for this. I just kind of took the melody from the chords:

    Glad you like it!

  • great skills man :]

  • nice guitar btw i have the same 1

  • wow 4 all the people who dont play guitar thats how u play 1 the right way good job man

  • thanks!

  • Very nice playing~! It might just be me, but your tone seems a bit harsh. I think it might be the acoustics of the room you're in... anyways, awesome. :)

  • yes, this could be. Thanks!

  • Hmmmm.....so clean and I like the no thumb pick approach......real nice.......

  • Very nice!

  • This is sheer brilliance! Great job buddy!

  • Thanks Toddy, glad you like it!

  • Merry Christmass! (the tree in the background) Fantastic playing.. Wish i had a Gretsch like that! Keep posting clips like this!!

  • Really nice! Thanks! And thanks for showing your left hand so well so that I can borrow your chops...

  • awesome !!!! I want to learn this !!!!

  • buckethead plays this song also

  • I've heard a lot of great guitarists....Chet, Albert Lee, Brent Mason, Buzz Evans...I think I just heard the best. You are awsome.

  • The guys you mentioned are 1000 times better than me I think, but thanks for the compliment. Glad you like my playing that much.

  • Nice playing... but very nice guitar!

  • Thanks!

  • See my previous Bennyboy1949 comment???

  • Hi Bennyboy, glad you like my version! Sorry, but at the moment I´m too busy for doing tutorials. The tune is quite easy though because the melody kind of results from the chords. Maybe try that.

  • Can you do a complete lesson on this with slow-down picking etc???

  • nice jazzy lick at the end

  • what kind of strings do you use?

  • I use Elixir strings 010 - 046.

  • is there a clear pickgaurd on that or did he take it off?

  • I took it off.

  • NICE !

  • nice =D

  • Nice work man. Beautifully articulated. I'm thinking about getting a 5120, what amp are you using?

  • Delightful; I'd like to hear more please.

  • Amazing final variation!! Very very nice

  • Great cover!

  • Really nice, thanks.

  • Awesome playing! I love your sound.

  • hey wut amp are u playing out of in this video....it sounds great!!! Nice playing...=)

  • I´m playing through a pod line6 into the pc speakers. Nothing special. Thanks!

  • hey holger, have you ever tried the opening amaj7 using the two handed harmonic techinique?, it took me a while to be comfortable with the picking hand position , but it really adds to that, check out chets version, althouhg im sure you've heard it already

  • I know that intro. It´s pretty hard, I´d have to practice quite a bit to get it rolling...

  • Nice work, very Setzeresque

  • farshidw3- Why do you have to garbage out the language? Can't you do better than that? Would your mother approve?

  • sorry, I don´t know what you mean.

  • That was so fucking awesome...

can i please have the tab for that?

    i love that song

  • Good job :)

  • Very Good, I like your end. *****

  • Sorry, I don´t have a tab for Mr. Sandman.

  • Top playing!

  • I Love It

  • I love it!!! Wish I could play like that. Nice guitar.

  • Beautiful!

  • So much like Chet ....would love to hear you duo with him if only in the studio.

  • WOW!

  • DAMMIT! It just isn't fair.

  • you make it look sooooo easy. wow how long have you been playing ?

  • Thanks! For about 32 years now.

  • Chet jr !!!

  • short and sweet, awesome! :)

  • What chords are in this song? I've seen like 3 different versions but I like yours the best!

  • Amaj7 Bm E7

    Amaj7 G# C#5+ F#5+ B67 E6 A F9 E9

    Amaj7 G# C#5+ F#5+ Bm7 Dm6

    Ending:

    Amaj7 Bbdim D7 E9 Bbmaj7 Amaj69

  • This is amazing!!

  • Never seen it done with a flat pick Great Job...nice playing!!!

  • I wish you could tab out that lick on the end for me. I cant figure it out. Thanks

  • hi there just out of curiosity how would you rate the gretsch g5120 for craftsmanship and sound quality

    thanks

  • I think the craftmanship quality is excellent. It´s also easy and smooth to play because I could set the action pretty low (without string buzzing). I think the only difference to a Japanese model ist that it costs much less. Sound is always a matter of taste.

  • thanks very much id heard of some problems with bridge instability faulty tuners and pickup buzzing but im geussing that was on the earlier electromatics if youve heard of any of this please let me know

  • in fact, some screws in the bridge were buzzing a little. To correct this I put in a drop of lock-tite. This is a kind of non permanent glue used for fixation of motor bike screws that tend to loosen by the motor vibration. Works perfectly :)

  • yh ive used it a few times when raplaceing tuning head screws to help ease them in it works a treat

  • Excellent! Somewhere, up in heaven, Chet is looking down on that and smiling.

  • There are hundreds of loosers in youtube, posting very unprofessional rockabilly videos... Such a shame.. But your playing is a complete breath of fresh air after them! You're amazing! You have taste, sound, techique and respect of music. I loved this!

  • wow man, that was really great. i loved those chords and jazz turn around at the end, it sounded fantastic. if its not to much trouble cdould you please tell me what chords you played?

  • sure, I played the turn around like so:

Amaj7 Bbdim / D7 E9 / Bbmaj7 A69. The more correct chord for the D7 would have been Bm7 I think, but it didn´t really fit with the "blue" note.

  • Very nice! This video was in my "recommended for you" box this morning, and I'm glad it was - your arrangement not only sounds amazing, it also seems to use a lot of conventional bar chords as opposed to a lot of jazz chords that I'm not terribly familiar with. I have made great progress with my own rendition of this song in the hours since. Thank you very much for posting.

  • Thank you! The melody kind of results out of the chords. So once you figure them out, it´s easier to learn. A great tune I think.

  • Great playing man! I'm been wanting one of these guitars for a while! Really smooth picking, Chet would be proud!

  • absolutely beautiful!

very similar to the brian setzer version. Where did you learn this?

If you learnt it by ear then it's ok but if you got tabs then I'd love to learn the song.

  • Very good. You're guitar also has a gorgeous tone. Was nice to see someone doing something a little different with the right hand too. Any tabs for this?

  • Thanks for the nice words. Sorry, I usually don´t write down the stuff I play. I wrote down the last arpeggio of this tune for a guy who asked me. Give me your email and I´ll send it to you. I have a full TAB of working man blues on my website if you´re interested.

  • or A perhaps! :P and by the way, thats the most catchy version i have ever heard!

  • That´s right, it´s in A. Glad you like it!

  • Awesome! is it b flat, or b youre playing?

  • Beautiful! *****

  • really nicely played

  • I have this guitar

  • Well, then there´s at least two that have one :)

  • Mr sandman never die!!ever..ahah
