Saw this a few years ago on tv. It is indeed the Bol D'Or, a 24 hr endurance race and this happened on the start/finish straight as they finished the 1st lap!!! He was showing off by standing up to look between his legs at the chasing pack instead of over his shoulder. He was lucky to get off as lightly as he did, but still deserved it in my opinion.

im reading the comments about wearing gear on a bike here, i dont care if u want to abuse me for this, in my opinion wearng a jacket, gloves and helmet is necesary if not going far, however longer rides leathers or full textiles, protective trousers is a good idea, i know of this because i fell off my friends moped flat out at 46mph onto gravelly concrete, im still revoering 2 and a half months l8er, the worst bit is when they scrub the wounds with a toothbrush

depends where you ride to work, if you dont go far then jacket helmet and gloves should be bare minimum, If you want to keep your feet in a crash ( a fireman i know said he saw a foot in a shoe, detached from the leg in a scooter accident ) then wear strong boots and leathers, gravel rash hurts so does losing a hand or a foot. if your going to ride a bike then safety shit is mandatory

But if I'm goin to the gym and someone runs a red light and broadsides me at 50 MPH in a 1.5 ton car then I'm toast, "gear" or not......that's my point.
