  • These commercials are really alot more about Dell-type packages (which btw are truly horrendous to self-built and installed) versus macos than anything else.

  • Mac: Hi PC.

    PC: Hi Mac.

    Mac: I can run Windows.

PC: I can run Windows too. And Mac OSX. And Snow Leopard. And Lion. And Red Hat. And Ubuntu. In fact, I can run anything you can, and run it better through a vast variety of software.

    Mac: Touche.

    PC: Touche indeed.

  • how stupid is this? its saying you can run windows on a mac... so microsoft is still selling a copy of windows? so the ad is really just against the customisable hardware in a pc? that's stupid

they basically saying, you can now buy your OS for my hardware

  • Stop Saying PCs are Better, I Mean it!!

I Worked on a PC Like Forever, and I Wanted To Try a Mac, Then When I Tried it, I REALLY Loved it, It's Fast and Secure, and FINALLY I Decided To Switch To a Mac!

  • Oh wait. PC stands for personal computer. Mac=PC

  • PC: And I don't require six months of dealing with morons who have no fucking clue what they're doing when my computer needs actual fixing when the same repair on my PC took...TWO WEEKS.

    Mac: Mac: Touché.

  • PCs mean Personal Computers, so, if Mac's aren't PC's, what they are?

  • @MatheusMK3 a MAC maybe?

  • @mistman92 Yes, but PC means "Pesonal Computer" - MAC means...? Touché!

  • @MatheusMK3 Macintosh maybe? Touché?

  • @mistman92 And what Macintosh means? Touché?

  • @MatheusMK3 now ur just being stupid - even more stupid than when u asked what a mac was...

  • @mistman92 Stuping is when people just say that PC's suck... Every thing have an good and bad side...

  • @MatheusMK3 wtf are u even on about?first of all, i never said annything like that... now your just being stupid again and second im on a computer and i like it better cause it does everything i need it to and not alot of bullcrap movie making and sound editing shit that i wont ever be able to use and dont care about.

  • @mistman92 I didn't said you said that, I was just saying what I really thinked, also, I'm not on a Mac, all programs I need to use I have here...

Well, I'm stopping with this fight... I have no reasons to discuss about Mac or PC's...

  • @MatheusMK3 Macintosh is a little twist of a brand name that sells apples

  • lmao Imagine how fucked apple would be if Bill Gates decided that Windows 8 will no longer be compatible with mac

  • PC should have said that we have more Linux versions than Mac.

  • For as long as I have worked in the IT field I have never met a tech who advocates any apple products other than the iphone.

apple = half the hardware at twice the price.

  • WINDUHHHHHHHS!

  • you can run windows on a mac because microsoft thought it would be nice to allow their os to be compatible with wide ranges of hardware. as for mac os, apple deliberately programmed their os to refuse to install on anything other than mac hardware.

  • apple screwed themself when the mac guy said "im kinda like the only computer you'll ever need"

they obviously think pc is better

  • i just love how apple goes... "HEY LOOK AT ME!!! I CAN BE LIKE A PC, i'm like the ultimate 2-in-1 computer... *pst... don't tell them PCs have done this for ages*"

  • PC: And I can run OSX too.

    Mac: Touché.

  • @cypherx82 Illegally

  • thats right mac, just give up or ill touche bitch slap you again cause your pcs' fucking slave

  • :o its the guy from dodgeball and zack and miri

  • He is using it right. If not for the intel processors inside Macs, Macs would be dead.

  • @Helgihermadur If it was I'd be running XP. Which boots up faster.....

  • Comment removed

  • @Helgihermadur My windows 7 takes 9 seconds.....

  • I have used a Mac before. I was offered to get a Mac, but I got W7 instead.

I did not want Snow Leopard crashing on me like when I wa strying it out.

  • it doesn't really matter. mac can run windows and pc can run osx. the operating systems don't matter. but mac cannot run with pc hardware and likewise pc can't run with mac hardware.

  • @daleksvscybermen Non-Mac PCs can't legally run OS X.

However, a PC can run with Mac hardware... that's called running Windows on a Mac, which you said was possible earlier in your comment.

  • Most Apple computers, particularly Apple notebooks, can run Windows with crappy driver and power management.

On the other hand, lots and lots of PCs can run OS X perfectly or almost-perfectly yet still work flawlessly with Windows.

  • @houou100

Really? I'd like to see that.

  • i think he used the word correctly :)

  • @duckwithnukes correction.. Why do hackintosh's exist? Because apple was retarded enough to switch to intel.

  • ever heard of hackintosh? only reason mac thinks pc cant run mac is becauses apple doesnt allow that due to legal reasons.

  • ...and why do hackintoshes exist? Because people are desperate to get the world's best operating system onto their computers.

  • @duckwithnukes No its for Mac users who got tired of the rubbish specs provided by their Mac.

  • Ignoring the jibe about the specs... if someone didn't like the specs, they could get a PC running Windows. However, they don't... because OS X is the best operating system.

  • worlds best operating system, wouldn't agree on that. have never heard of many industrial companies like ABB or Wärtsilä for example in the ship industry using mac systems ^^ it's all about needs & requirements, and yes for home & personal use, and office work (especially media) OS X is the only reasonable solution.

(and I'm now using my 3 week old MBP)

    Apple <3

  • i don't get this advertisement, PC = Personal computer, Mac IS a computer, it just has the capability to run OSX. so in a sense, aren't Macs PCs too? o.0

  • I've always said that! =D Nice that someone else realize that =D

  • just tasteless from apple

  • Oops , i can operate MAC OSX in a PC also...

dun forget OSX86 and ideb, kalyway

  • touche

  • legally

  • I swear next time there's gonna be a hitler fighting over stuff like macs and pcs.

  • ONly if Steve Jobs/Bill Gates becomes President, then every mac/PC user will be put into death camps

  • So Mac is basically saying that he knows operates on Windows to help keep him alive.

  • @ibold1000 actually, Macs run Windows to bring people over to the Mac OS, it's a trap that Windows never would have conjured. That and Windows users are probably to slow to master the Mac right off the bat and need little old Windows right beside them to make them feel smart MUHAHAHAHA

  • @ibold1000 No, he is saying for those dumbasses out there, that Mac can run both for the programs that a mac can't run. The lovely thing about boot camp is it runs windows faster on it's system than a PC.

  • @LargerThanLifee

Except that PCs are faster then Macs if you pay the same amount of money on each, you get a better PC, so naturally it'll run it's operating system faster.

  • @CSRgamer If you think that matters on a computer you have obviously never owned a Mac. Yes you can get a PC which is faster than a Mac for the same price, but is the PC as beautiful, user friendly or ergonomic as the Mac? Both types of computer have their advantages and disadvantages - it just depends on which features you desire in a computer. I'd rather pay a bit of extra money for a computer that, not only is fast, has a wonderful interface and looks far more sleek and modern.

  • @UFOghostgeek

I actually own a mac, have fixed 3. Obivously you've never used Win7, it's "beautiful" as you call it, and yes, it's user friendly, and not only that, but you can actually customize it, and not just be default everything. I can change my fan speeds, I can overclock, and make it even faster then it already is, I can do pretty much anything I want.

Or if I didn't know how to do this stuff, I could use it like a mac, with everything default, but at least I have the option.

  • @CSRgamer Well, if you're interested in that stuff it's cool with me. However I like to have a computer that looks modern on my desk and doesn't take up too much room at all and still manages to have a 27" LED backlit, high resolution display. I also enjoy using the benefits of Mac OS X as well as Windows 7 on my computer - and on the odd occasion Ubuntu. And on that note, I have used Windows 7 (as I mentioned earlier) and have found Aqua looks a lot better than Aero. I'm happy with a Mac. :)

  • @UFOghostgeek

Looks modern? How about the Acer Aspire Predator? Or the Aspire X Navigator?

Or how about the case mods, like the Battlestar Galactica case, or the Iron Man case?

Macs all look the same, or pretty close to it, PCs have no limit to the creativity.

  • @CSRgamer oh so having a gorgeous 27" LED backlit all-in-one aluminium Apple Mac ISNT HALF AS COOL AS A BATTLESTAR GALACTICA PC TOWER!! i mean, how cool will that look in comparison? oh and uhh... dont talk to me about creativity, how is having an iron man themed PC creative or cool exactly? its been agreed that the most beautiful, unique and creative looking computers are made by apple, even some PC users agree to it

and it's not exactly like Macs don't have case mods.

  • @UFOghostgeek

Those are the people who went out and bought a black dell standard computer case, and I can say the same for PCs.

And dude, if a PC user wanted his computer to look like yours, he can do it. He can do pretty much anything to his computer he wants.

By the way, you never said anything about the other 2 comps I put there, and what about the alienware stuff? Like the 17x?

  • @CSRgamer okay fine i'll say about the other two computers, they don't look as good as macs, imo anyway - easy as that

sure you can think they don't, but most people do

Macs look better than PCs, I have nothing more to say

  • @UFOghostgeek

Most people? How did you learn that bit of information? I've never even seen somone who thinks so. And no, they don't.

  • @CSRgamer You know what you are? A fan boy. A total Microsoft fan boy. and it's sad, to be honest. I use both Macs and PCs and I can fully understand that every operating system, and hardware manufacturer, has their own advantages and disadvantages. If you don't think that Apple Macs aren't sturdy, beautiful, modern and ergonomic I really don't care. If you fail to see anything good in Macs then that's your loss - not mine.

  • @CSRgamer You asked me how I learnt that most people think that Apple Macs look better than most computers, well one point would be that they're unique - it's pretty easy to spot someone using an Apple MacBook in public than someone using just a regular black Windows notebook. And I can't prove to you that a lot of people think Macs look good, but can you explain to me how so many people buy, use and enjoy Macintosh computers? Haven't you ever considered that?

  • @UFOghostgeek

Well can you explain why so many more people buy PCs? Havn't you considered the fact that PCs have over 90% of the market?

  • @CSRgamer Well it's kind of obvious, people buy them because they don't need the features of a mac, because they want something cheap, something for gaming, because they're buying PCs for office buildings and institutes, because they prefer Windows or Linux - there are all kinds of reasons. But that still doesn't mean that one is better than the other. It quite funny, but sad how you can't even see one good feature of the Mac.

  • @UFOghostgeek

    What features? Lol...

  • @CSRgamer Okay, now you're being a troll.

  • @UFOghostgeek

    Not unlike you?

  • Why is everyone arguing like "Macs suck!" or "PCs are lame!" or "What about video games?" in the comments for these videos?

I like BOTH Macs and PCs. Sure, new Macs are more expensive, but so what? You can get a good used PowerMac G4 for maybe $300 and it'll run Mac OS X pretty well. And there are PLENTY of Mac-compatible games out there. And many PCs are more customizable right in your own hands, too.

  • all the good video games run on pc,if u go to newegg and look at mac games, they have like menopoly, and sims

  • But, he is using touche right. Originally your suppose to say touche when someone hurts you.

  • Eh, If you're going to downgrade from windows, why downgrade to a mac when linux is free? You get all the same creative crap and now it's suddenly free; on top of that neither mac nor linux get viruses, so why spend a shitload for a mac when you can just build your own computer and install linux or install it on your existing one? I love how people love to complain about which is better, a mac or a PC and they never consider going with neither. Just buy a book on linux and download.

  • i've given linux many tries and can say that i'm not geeky enough to spend 1week-1month on learning to do something more advanced, and also my work requires photoshop & some other pro-tools which isn't available natively on linux, and i'm not into wine things or whatever you use to emulate.

as a HTPC and for a netbook linux is great

  • If most of you PC users had a mac you would have a system wide spell check that would tell you when you misspelled a word when you're typing a comment on Youtube.

  • Oh yes, and if you weren't retarded, then you wouldn't need the spell check in the first place; maybe if you spent a few minutes paying attention in school you wouldn't rely on computers, which are fundamentally unreliable to begin with. And for the record, PC has that feature as well.

  • Please tell me about the spell check in Windows, I have not seen it built in and I have Windows 7 dual booted on my Mac. Spell check is built in to Mac OS, I don't see anywhere on Windows. Computers are the future and the present, it's always good to have a computer checking you because a human is MORE fundamentally unreliable then a computer.

  • i have no idea what ibpointless just said...

  • except when u using other languages then English for one , seccond if u use the propper program on pc u have spell check for all u lazy ppl out there.Further more i like the flexibilty of a pc that i build to my own specs not some out of the box crap that has stuff i don't want or i wand and its lacking and im going to pay triple just cuz it has a damn grey apple logo on it. Also i never have problems running games on a pc can't say the same for a mac tho ...

  • The comparison between Mac and Windows ("Mac" is the operating system, "Macintosh" is the computer) is rightly placed in the area of opinion based discussion. A preference towards either choice. However, saying that the Macintosh (the computer) can run both Windows and Mac has no merits when determining which OS is better. It may be an advantage when comparing the Macbook to it's competitors, "Windows-based" laptops, but it is not a strike against Windows that it can run along side Mac OS X.

  • I can watch this over and over. Everytime he makes me laugh.

  • LMFAO

I was thinking, where was that skit from? Shit, was that an Apple ad? And it was.

    Brilliant.

  • This is telling windows users, "buy our hardware, forget our OS".

  • rofl, these are so funny. ive used a pc like my whole life, but ive been watching these videos and its funny because the stuff they say about pc is true, it makes me really want to switch over to a Mac =)

  • non mac users, shouldnt be allowed to talk shit.

i love running bootcamp on my mac. just great when i want to play my pc games

  • WTF? what a fail from mac. :D Even if they try to make pc suck, it didn't happen.

  • Wow hilarity sure ensues.

  • PCs can run both too

  • Or three

  • not legally

  • get a license

  • There's no license or legit form of running OS X on other hardware than Apple's.

  • I'm pretty sure that is barely legal. Apple is afraid to sue you, because they are afraid that the Judicial Branch will shatter their precious EULA. You need to do some modding on non-Intel Pentium+NVIDIA GeForce machines. I'm unsure if you still have to modify it on a machine with the required hardware.

  • this is more glorifying the window os then mac

  • Someone! Quickly do a parody where someone installs Windows on a mac, and he become Wndows as well. Then, hillarity must ensue!

  • sry i can't make a reply work right but this is to the guy whose says "PCs can run both too" yea but that fuckin hard to do also don't give me a fuckin BS reply

  • PC's can run both, but not legally.

  • Mac: I can play games too

PC: I can play games on a computer that has the same specs thats half the price

Mac: I can run crysis on medium

PC: i can run it on ultra high

  • I'm not even sure if Mac can run Crysis on medium lol.

  • Mac: Hey PC! What are you doin?

    PC: Playing games.

    Mac: What kind of games?

    PC: All of them.

  • macs can run both so why get a pc when macs have both not to mention macs are way better

  • PCs can run both too

  • @XNintyFive poor microsoft, can't come up with anything on their own....oh well.

  • @XNintyFive No, it can't.

There isn't any way to legally run OS X on a PC (a non-Mac PC).

The illegal ways don't even work on all PCs.

  • @XNintyFive but can PCs run OS X as cheaply and as easily as a Mac?

  • @UFOghostgeek

    Uh, yeah.

  • @CSRgamer Maybe for you, but for someone with little IT experience... for example my father has Windows 7 home premium on his Macbook Pro which took him very little time - and he only had to pay for the CD. When running OS X on a PC, in some cases, you have to purchase extra hardware, overclock your computer and possibly break copyright law, my father wouldn't know where to begin with hacking like that.

  • @UFOghostgeek

Maybe cuz he's a moron? Lol, but seriously, you don't have to break a law, you don't have to buy extra stuff, you don't have to hack, don't talk about things you know nothing about. Overclocking your computer? What does that have to do with OS X? It's so you can get the best out of your computer, (Which macs can't do, but even if they could they'd still suck) =P

  • @CSRgamer if macs are so awful then how come so many people use and absolutely love them? (oh and i stand by what i said about installing OS X on windows... yes i actually meant overclocking as a hell of a lot of PCs aren't powerful enough at default to run the beautiful OS of the Mac!) look all i have to say is both computers have their advantages - sure you don't like the features in Macs, but that doesnt mean that they suck... because many people actually do like them if you didnt notice!

  • @XNintyFive Yes but most PCs don't support Hackintosh and there are several different distros, you have to try them all to see which one works and it's a pathetic process when you can pay more money but get a longer lasting machine that runs both OSs natively and legally plus can do iLife and other multimedia stuff. Whatever.

  • @XNintyFive illegally

  • Because you can run both on a pc with the same hardware for much less. There is nothing special about a mac computer. Only the case and operating system are original. The insides of it are just like a pc.

  • it sure is nice microsoft could care less what pc you install windows on. apple, puts up walls, it sure would be a hell of alot better of an os if more people had access to OSX

  • dude install norton, I have not had a virus EVER. I guess too many people dont know how to maintain their computers, and click on too many "ativeXcontrol" links... whatever. Im not hater, Im sure MAC is ok, I just love my PC, thats all.

  • Macs are overrated...i couldn't care less if i had a PC or a Mac...but since i was raised on PC, i like PC...the only thing better about a Mac is that it doesn't get as many viruses...but as long as u know how to take care of a computer, it shouldn't be a problem having a PC...i just don't get why anyone hates either computer....

  • See Mac can run Mac OS X or Windows.

PC can run Mac OS 10 or Windows.

Well then I would get a Mac thats more powerful than my PC, or a PC thats even more powerful than that mac since mac is just another brand of PC!

  • touche. LOL

  • it doesn't matter who wins i got both and they are great and they are just tools so dont fight about them :D

  • You win.

  • touche.

  • you know i have like 11 popular games on my mac! you retarded PC people should stop using your pathetic excuse that mac's aren't compatible. i got World Of Warcraft, GTA San Andreas, Limewire, The sims 2, Roller coaster Tycoon 3, Microsoft Office 2008, Google Earth, Blender, MSN Messenger, and Firefox all on the mac os system. My os's are: MAC OS 10.5.2 Leopard, Windows XP Home Edition. The apps+games i mentioned are all on the mac os and some are are on the windows. I'm running 2 'PC' Printers.

  • Then you should stop using arguments of security...I just realized I forgot any of the other logical pro-Mac arguments (not that I am implying security is a great reason to use Macs)...

Personally I agree with your statement regarding how compatibility alone is a poor way to judge an OS but if you wish to flame all PC users then I'm willing to have an pro/anti-Mac debate.

  • I have no problem with pc users per say, it's the reasons they use against Mac. XP is great, and so is Mac OSx 10.5. I could dismiss almost every excuse Mac haters can come up with and I bet PC haters could do the same. Both OS's have their equal share of pros and cons.

  • lolll what about COD4? CSS? Halflife? didnt know that limewire was a game.. and good job youve compiled a list of ever possible non-apple made program compatible with the mac

    lol... google earth/msn messenger

  • i don't use a mac for one reason - you can't upgrade the p.o.s. what you buy is what you get. one thing that makes PC's so much better is that you can upgrade them over time. hell, you can even build your own.

  • to MiddleFingerSaysHI - the reason behind you updating your PC's parts is bacause as soon as you buy the damn thing its bloody out-dated!! thats why with a mac you are buying a computer with parts that wont be outdated for a long time, and dont think I use a mac, well i do but i have a PC and 2 months after i bought it all the parts were long gone and my as for my mac, its still as good as new.(its 2 months old lol)

  • PC's don't need getoutdated after 2 months. If yours does then you made a stupid buy. And Macs are guilty of the same thing. The only difference is that instead of allowing for upgrades, they just make a new product and make you feel bad. Less than half a year after I got my iPhone they made the iPhone 3g. And I believe they just changed the macbook a macbook pro designs AGAIN! Not to mention iPods(now on their sixth generation).

  • Comment removed

  • Makes their own hardware? Are you an idiot? Ever heard of intel? Or maybe Nvidia and Ati? How about the Intel skulltrail motherboard that the mac pro uses, or the xeon cpus that go in it? THEY ARE ALL HARDWARE THAT PCs USE! And its not like apple even has the best versions of it either. And if you want to talk about updated, the top of the range iMac uses a processor that was available in a dell XPS 4 years ago.

  • why would a pc want to be a mac?

  • the fact that macs need to include windows in order to compete speaks for itself

  • hell yeah!!

  • thats not because windows its better but because it has flooded all the market, its a fallacy to think that something's better than something else just because everyone thinks so

  • Welllll Optyix....

Macs r faster and better than pcs and they have a camra in them, they have a different system called leopard, and theres plenty more reasons y macs r friggen awesome!!!!!! : )

  • some PC's have cameras in them... and some pc's are faster than a mac. A computer is really only as good as the software you put on it. Bad software that is not compatable for a mac can make it slower than a lot of PC's.

  • Wellll LeoTitanicfan4eva....

The problem with you mac users just say macs are better and faster than pcs. bullshit. that is the only thing you guys say and then you deny everything pc users say to back up pcs. also, macs are too expensive and have limited customization. a pc can be adapted to do any job, any time, and with the proper software can do any "mac job" (movies, photos, music, etc.) better than a mac. theres plenty more reasons pcs are friggen better than macs!!!!!!!!! :)

  • Why would you buy a MAC, and put windows on it..... just buy a PC with windows?

  • exactly man....

  • i just bought a mac and im never going back.

  • signed.

  • lol, thats like what I tell my mates, once you go Mac you'll never go back

  • Linux. NAO!

  • lol haha!

    i actually have a mac, they r awesome!!!!!!!!\

everyone should get one! : )

  • i prefer PC since i play games

  • well its called boot camp thats what this was all about.

  • I run Ubuntu and I am having problems but other than that, it rocks!!!!!

W*ndows S*cks and Mac looks cool so HA!!!

  • Here is the real os rating.. (I GOT USED ALL OF THESE MYSELF)

Vista>Leopard>Tiger>Xp>Windows 2000>Ubuntu>All other mac os'>All other Windows os'

Vista is better than leopard, but leopard is more sexy. Chase closed. I'm going to buy a mac pro with leopard (10.5)@ my mom and run a good gaming machine with vista @ my dad (sp1)

  • haha awesome

    .

    .

    .

    lucky!!!

  • If Vista was better than Leopard, then many Windows users wouldn't downgrade to XP even yet, switch to Macs. Vista fails on everything, it's a joke.

  • just wait until vista SP1 then listen to what people say..

  • SP1 should have been released a long time ago by now. Why is it that M$ takes so long to release updates (more like patches to fix up blunders) for their OSs?

  • In looks I prefer Linux by far to any other platform. My overall personal belief: Certain Linux Distros > Windows >>> Mac OS X. Then again, that's just me XD.

  • the only reason i would do that is if there is actually some advantage to having windows on a mac, is the mac hardware more powerful than my 5 year old computer??.....yes, but is it better than a brand new gaming computer..... i havent really bothered checking, and don't plan to, i'm happy with my sh^% box thank you :P

  • Maybe the point is that you'd have to be an idiot to buy/make a PC then install os10 on it... yOU COULD BUY A MAC AND RUN WIN ON IT, THEN YOU HAVE A SEXY COMPUTER, THAT IS ACTUALLY USEFUL. (sorry hit caps acc)

  • I love how Macs have to advertise that they run Windows products... to compete with Windows. Ironic?

  • ah touche[?]

  • lol

  • I really prefer mac.. its awesome for recording music with Pro Tools and stuff like that.. they are pretty fast! And the interface... the best

  • apple is like rome; come of out nowhere and rise to hgih money, but will fall because of themselves

  • This commercial says alot. I've gotten in tech debates with people that have no idea what they are talking about, and thus, use their ignorance to the subject as an atvantage.

I know, it makes no sence :|

  • that's the point! the vast majority of computer users do not have a degree in IT. they (we) are confused why mac does not consider itself as a pc (Personal Computer), why mac wants to run on windows (it's windows, not pc!) when they claim it to be too bloated and virus prone (among which). i'm a resident of internal medicine, and i crave what the majority of computer users crave: less complicated computers in an already complicated world. that's why we prefer windows.

  • Maybe you should come back to planet reality because WinPCs are the ones that are complicated, not Macs. I mean for crying out loud, Vista comes in six different flavors and all of them are more expensive than 1 version of Mac OS X.

  • One reason is because buying Mac OS X is virtually upgrading for Mac users (as they had to have a version installed at some point). In terms of ease of use, it is debatable but for many users PCs running Windows are easier to use simply because they are used to it where as if they switched to another OS they would have to repeat the learning curve (even if it is a shorter one).

  • Getting used to a Mac takes short amount of time, but when they get past that, they're gonna realize how easy it'll become. Many switchers tend to experience this. For example, many peripherals are plug 'n play without having to find drivers, or how it takes only a couple of clicks to set up a Mac as a personal website.

  • 1. Many peripherals for other OS's are also "plug 'n play".

    2. It only takes a couple of clicks (and typing) to setup a website in general regardless of the operating system or hardware present on the computer (as long as you can access the internet).

  • Some people wonder about viruses. On my pc with all the firewalls on my first download i got one but on mu mac i havent gotten one yet.

  • Firewalls wouldn't protect you from viruses (at all). Anti-virus is required software for detection/removal. There are no known viruses for Mac OS X which would explain why you don't have any (though for security I'd rather run GNU/Linux, FreeBSD, etc.).

  • I think some people miss some points of the commercial. One reason to run Windows on a Mac is so that you can run apps that aren't available to the Mac OS X, Windows OS itself isn't relevant, Windows apps are. Another reason is that it proves advantageous to cross-platform software developers having the best of both worlds. One thing to note however is that only the Macs have exclusive softwares for its users, no longer are there Windows exclusive softwares.

  • doesnt getting windows defeat the purpose of having a mac in the first place?

and you can run leapord on pc's :O

    go figure.

  • Mabye you can run leopard on pcs, but is it as easy to set up as xp on a mac?

The only reason mac users get windows on their mac is because of compatibility, not because of it's "innovative and glorious expirience".

  • Installing Mac OS X on non-Macintosh computers is a violation of Apple's license agreements which is why it's not commonly done (along with the reason that most PC users see it pointless to do so).

You spelled experience wrong. How is using a Mac a glorious experience or any different from any other computing experience I've had (and yes I have used Macs).

  • I've known quite a few pc users that would rather have Mac OS X on their computer :)

Apple doesn't sell their OS as it's a marketing advantage (more than other things). The downside is it's not very common, so not a lot of people know about it. Still, you only profit Microsoft when you buy Windows for your mac, so it's not like Apple's demanding your cash like some seem to think. In fact, I think Windows for mac helps Microsoft more than it harms it.

  • Not really. It provides immediate funds to MS but encourages people to use Macs which in the long term encourages software developers to produce more games for Mac OS X which attracts more users etc. Macs are widely known as they have existed for quite some time and have gone on numerous advertising campaigns. Apple's other products (specifically the iPod) has significantly boosted the publics awareness towards Mac OS X.
