I spent hours playing this on my 486DX-33 back in the early 90's. Lots of fun to explore the game world and run over squirrels and chickens. It was maddeningly difficult to control the car - almost impossible to stay on the road, regardless of what kind of controller you used. Game speed was also CPU-dependent, so when I tried playing it on a Pentium the cars moved so fast they were impossible to drive. Ah, the good old days! Thanks for posting this!
I played some Test Drive on 286 computer ... there was road in a mountain. But I still don't know what it is. They are cool, but next thing is how to made a cool video in game, where you have different choices what to do ;-) Like in this game. There is landscape and you can go off-road
This game has potencial. I'm sure I can make better videos from this game ...
I think that your hardware can make part of recording too. Good example is my Wolfenstein 3d videos, they are fast, but when I'm recording, it's very slow. But it's different in this game. It's fast all the time, so it's not so good in racing game :/ I have 1.5Ghz Sempron and 512MB Ram...
actually you are right with the less crashes deal but play the game in RAW dos with 66MHZ computer or better and you will have a rough time playing i'll show you a video!
aren´t there more courses then these by default? i can´t find any more courses for this game I also have a tdIII video done i love this game with a ¨PASSION¨ ha ha i made a funny every try playing it on a really old computer? oy is it ever so slow.
My first computer (in 1991) was 486. It was really hard to get it in Czech Republic, cause we were just after breakdown USSR (CCCP or SSSR, simply Russia :D) and there wasn't many electronics, almost everything modern was brought from Germany and it was expensive.
Now I have 1.5Ghz, 512MB Ram shit computer with 128MB Gfx and I'm fully satisfied with that. I have hundreds of games to play, so I'm not sad from having bad computer :)
Some good titles I'm missing, but in general, nothing special ...
Your story looks nearly same as mine :-D I played this in 1997 ? 1998 ? On 80486 DX 60 Mhz and really good music in this game I heard from one speaker - Big brassed thing.
I played few levels, not so organizely gameplay, but lot of fun :-) I'm 18 years now, using DosBox and I still love DOS games, forever. The End

LOW-HIGH DETAILS
________________
How are you using this ? Low details is supposed to mean faster game. Yes, but with no trees too, so less crashes ;-) Especially in high speeds.
