  • People who mix with another nation to bring children into the world that resembles that other nation, has self hatred of themselves and their people.

  • find some statements made by lincoln..most are far worse than that..with the exeption of a few debates when he opposed legalizing slavery in kansas for fear black people would spread in to the west.. also, jefferson davis (confederate president) had a 7 yr old adopted son who had been abused who was free a citizen and educated..its more complicated than our history teachers have taught us.also general robert e lee freed his before the war..grant didnt give his up until after it was abolished

  • Believe none of what you hear, half of what you read, and none of what you are show'n.

  • Why do you think people join the millitary today if not to improve thier social standing. I joined for the signing bonus and money for college. Do you think most of our soldiers are in because they believe in the just cause. Look into things a little further before you speak you will apear smarter. As far as hating what became know as the confederate flag instead of the more carried bonne blue with it's white star or the palm and cresent moon. History is wrote by the victor search for the truth

  • @mrdixielove

That's the truth, I have native ancestors as well as Irish and Cajun, we were noting to the IS government, I dont hate the US flag but as I get older I realize that my education was lacking. My ancestor fought for HONOR not slaves, some did leave the union for slavery bur the US had worse offences, most left for self determination

  • Because you know, our government is just SO trustworthy... Also, it was the United States flag thy used when thy slaughtered my Cherokee ancestors. So don't You think people take offense to THAT flag? I would like to hear your response.

  • I fly a battle flag and I know it doesn't stand for slavery any more than the united states flag did at one time. After all, that is why we seceded from England, taxes and a threat to end slavery in the colonies. Also, Alexander's thoughts on the Confederacy did not reflect EVERYONE's thoughts, and I wouldn't be surprised if that speech was tampered with. You should look up the things "Honest Abe" said about blacks. Why would you listen to the government when they try to ruin a good symbol? Bec

  • Cool vid!

I would like to get your opinion on something. US Secretary of State Madeleine Albirght was interviewed on 60 minutes a few years back. In the interview, she is aked about the high humanitarian cost of war. She replies that the death of 500,000 Iraqi children was "worth it" in order to keep sanctions on Saddam.

(search youtube "madeleine albright death of 500,000 children for vid)

I found it to be revolting. Do you think that she speaks for all Americans?

  • this philosophy was standard in Europe for many centuries - the US merely took it from England - the New World had to be worked to make it pay, and the labor was supplied by slave power of course -- Christianity merely was used to justify it. The Confederacy was set up to be a slave-holding power, there is no question. The only reason for secession was because the north fought the spread of slavery into the western territories. Funny how black culture & music were appropriated by slaveholders

  • Alexander Stephens owned some of my ancestors and was a great person. I wouldn't call him racist, even though he made that statement. The reason I wouldn't is because you have to understand that scientific racism was published in the 1800s. It became more popular after he gave that speach, however, it existed before then so, during the time, there was a lot of ignorance surrounded about the potential of the negro in general. Until the 1900s, even children were treated as property.

  • @PhantomLyric

Tell me , how is one a " great person " who would own another human being ? Were the ppl who buried the

three civil rights workers in a dam in 1964 , great ? Being , more or less , from that era and area , I claim

you don't know your 25 y/o ass from a hole in the ground . Smooth operator is no substitute for brains kemosabe.

  • @hieronomy Black americans owned slaves too. You are thinking about it from a very modern prospective. 100 years ago, women were their husbands property and raping them wasn't against the law. There were no child protection laws and children were treated as property so there was no DCF or Child Welfare services (there was but nothing like today) I'm telling you to put yourself in another time.Put yourself in a time where our social ideals were being formed and science was a lie.

  • Wow she looks like a black anne hathaway......

  • Why don't you embrace your white side? I guess the nigger always comes out. Fucking shame..........

  • @suckmycod

As a white man who grew up in the racist south YOu are the shame , you jackass !

  • GOD BLESS the CONFEDERACY--TO HELL WITH THE DAMN YANKEES!!

  • Hey Tiffany. Why do I feel sorry for you. I'm not saying that to be mean. Please do something else with your time. You seem to be an intelligent girl. Get an engineering degree. Build, write, create....this issue will never be resolved and you can't enlighten a culture that NEEDs to see difference as subhuman. I am 50 year old Black woman. Believe me...not a whole lot you can do. Better men than you have tried. Women too. Even Angela stopped. The only way to offset ignorance is to produce.

  • Alson there were many free blacks living in the south during this time and when the war began many free black joined the confer ate army to help the cause. many people in the south were against slavery and not everyone in anyplace is perfect so there was bad apples but the confederacy would've freed the slaves the right way in years to come.

  • Abe lincoln said himself he didn't believe blacks and whites should live freely in a community in his campaign and not all slaves were freed in the north until after lincolns death. also lincolns family and grants family owned slaves aswell. Jefferson Davis the president of the confederacy adopted a black slave and raised him as his son at the end of the war the yankees took away his son and inprisoned Davis with no trail. he stayed in prison for six years and never got to see his son again.

  • @zombieconfederate420

This is so silly, on so many levels. How does one "adopt" a slave?

  • @ANLYZTHT well its not real confusing Jeff new a young black boy who was a slave and Davis took him in and raised him in a home educated him and loved him as his own son.

  • @ANLYZTHT u have to really think about it. Slavery was a thriving, real human trafficking business. If one man didn't buy them, another man would. We can argue if or not the adoption was against the will of the slave or not, however the fact remains, at the time they were a slave and their circumstances could have easily changed, however, being adopted by a master and treated like one of the family was a humanitarian act. It was a way for non-racist whites to SAVE a person from the hardships.

  • @PhantomLyric

Are you kidding ? you really think there is need to argue whether slaves were willing to be sold ?

How fucking stupid can you get !

  • @hieronomy What in the hell are you talking about you idiot? If you you read what I said, your comment would have been unwarranted. Someone talkined about a slave being adopted. If that's what you're referring to read what I said, dip shit. LIKE I SAID, in re: to ANLYZTHT question, "How does one adopt a slave," instead of viewing it as adopting a person against their will... think of it as a humanitarian act. They saved these people from hardship! They didn't BRING THEM OVER, dumb ass....

  • 2 points I would like to make, Number 1: Lincoln himself also thought blacks were not equal, Grant said had he thought the war was over slavery he would surrender his sword himself. Number 2: Everyone was forced to fight, black, white or purple. Everyone back then was racist by modern standards, North and South.

  • part two the north side wasn't much better hey starving irish man join the army might get shoot but you won't starve. or government has so much blood on it's hands indian's weren't even fit to slaves there were laws against it although it did happen in the beginning the government official statis on my people is we don't exist we were out before the passenger pigeon it's a shame right and wrong is desided by popular opinion but other than that I think your hot

  • to start with i'm native american my family farmed and owned slaves, slaves were a big part of the war but if the govenment came to you and said do something different the way you make a living is no longer valid and there is no other way to turn and the north states had laws against africans so their free and have to stay there we don't want them your out alot of money but we feel better what a nightmare economically and socailly I don't think slavery was right but it could have ended better.

  • This "one-drop" rule doesn't seem apply to us Puerto Ricans. I have a white, Spanish father, and a black, Afro-Caribbean mother. Both whites and blacks mistake me for Arab.

  • As someone said, "It's impossible to win an agrument with an ignorant man" -- & that's the problem with arguing about American history, there's a big revisionist movement going on, which makes up sheer lies out of thin air -- & then say that history is propaganda written by the northern oppressors.

At a personal level, it's just natural meanness, & some kind of ego enhancement from putting others down (hard) -- hey, we all were tribal 2000 years ago - & China was the most civilized nation!

  • Of course you're right that blacks are equal to whites in every way. Just look at the magnificent civilizations of sub-Saharan Africa... uh, no, wait... how about the peace and prosperity of black-ruled countries... damn, strike that. Okay, the many and various inventions and innovations... crap. Well you've got George Washington Carver, without whom we wouldn't have peanut butter! Of course he was educated by whites and lived and worked in white culture, so... Hey, there's still Obama! :(

  • Interesting topic. Just because it is in a book does not make it fact. Read what Charles Dickens wrote on the war and on the politics of the US at that time. I suggest Dickens simply because he was British and not American, in other words he was an outsider and less biased. Also They had abolished slavery in the UK decades before the US did. Admittedly, 1861 was not and never will be 2011. They had different values and ideas, North and South.

  • Here are a couple of questions for the black community. Why do black people glorify the ghetto life and the violence that lies in it? Why do they call black people who try to better their lives as being "white" or Uncle Tom's? Why do they always blame the color of their skin as to why they live in poverty than the actual reason that they just don't want to do what it takes to better themselves(this goes for many white people too!) Why are black men killing each other at an alarming rate?

  • Another bash the South video. I suggest you google race riots in america in the last 30 years and see where they took place. Here's a hint: none in the South (there was one in Miami but I don't think anyone would consider Miami the South.) The South isn't perfect now but things have changed in the last 150 years. Maybe if people focused on that instead of the past things might get better.

  • @nashcounty Miami back then was Southern whether you like it or not. My grandma was there when it happened. Terrifying times the 60's eh?

  • @nashcounty and Miami still is the south gosh darnit! D:< You've clearly never lived here!

  • @nashcounty what do you mean miami isn't the south..duh florida is the south..wtf

  • You're a very beautiful lady!!! Don't let anyone tell you otherwise!

  • I'm not quite sure what your underlying point is. The historical fact is that the USA as a whole was quite late in abolishing slavery, France and Britain had done it decades earlier. So giving the moral high ground to the union for being the second last rather than the last to take that step doesn't really stand for much in my book.

  • (continued again last) who worked for him white and black for when he was away in battles but when he was home he would do just as much work if not more as any of his workers so therefor the south is not a bad as it is told to be dont believe anything you hear until you hear both sides

  • (continued) because most of the blacks in the south were volunteers not forced so dont belive it because its not true and the north had just as many slaves as the south many of the northern generals had slave sherman , grant so on and the confederate general stonewall jackson his best friend was a black man not a slave a best friend how will you aregue and Robert E. Lee also had a black best friend yet again not a slave a friend and i dont think he had any slaves but he did have people who

  • we are all the same the only difference is our skin color we have the same organs and all of that but here im not racist i support the confederacy and i know blacks who support the confederacy as well willingly support it so that statement was made up by a yank who hated the south and Jefferson Davis our President adopted a black child but lost him when davis was captured by union soldiers and the blacks at this time durring 1800s durring the war were volunteers dont belive they were forced

  • If being for the South is racists towards African Americans...then being for the North means that you are racists towards Native Americans. Remember the Trail of Tears??? Think before you speak.

  • @TheSatchnell

some ppl " for the South " despise ppl who condone and justify evil . Evil is evil !

  • You are a sad liberal obviously, why diont you check past what a liberal yankee had to say about the civil war. Many good blacks served the confederacy and loved their homes and wanted to repel the yankee invaders.......you folks will never accept the true history and just want to run Dixie down!!!! Deo Vindice.....in closing just because you would read mein kampf does that historically make jews inferior.....wow liberal wow

  • You should Bi-racial Blow-ME!

  • Well of course the South was ignorant back then. So was the North. Both the USA and the CSA flag flew over slavery. That's a fact that most people overlook! Does that mean that you should hate the USA flag because it flew over slavery. The USA wanted to keep slavery legal too. Does that mean the USA flag is wrong. No, it just mean it flew over ignorant people, that's all!

  • Simple response to that quote is views change. Sure 150 years ago the confederacy and its flag represented the southern states' stubborn position on keeping slaves to maintain their agrarian economy, but today it may represent 'states rights' and nothing more. 230 years ago the US represented the freedom of rich white landowners to not be taxed. And own slaves. But now it represents freedom for everyone. Almost no white man in 1865, northern or southern viewed blacks as equal, including Lincoln.

  • how the hell did they purchase their own gear if they were slaves? DUH!!! if they were slaves, they wouldn't have had any money, would they?

  • Slavery has been instituted by many races...all I'm saying is dont blame the white race or the South for slavery. Its happened since Bible times. Its not right but its also not right to equate it to only one race.

  • @nessaroni22

I think the point is that servitude type slavery has gone on everywhere by all peoples, but the Transatlantic Slave Trade was slavery of the chattled variety - completely different kettles od fish. There has never been slavery comparable to that done by the white Europeans. If you are blamed - its because you are the most distinguished in this regard

  • Hi Bi Racial bitch ass. Mighty Whitey Hated your black ass despite their Blue bellie and Confederate slavery, but if You would slavishly suck my white snow cone, then maybe we can comprimise by my kissin your negro ass. By the way I have an un-signed welfare check in my hand?

  • @ke4bss

    asshole

  • Shes cute.

  • Historical fact from the North... Only one side... Once you've listened and read both sides, then make a video...

  • You have very healthy attitudes. We need more of that. I'd like to stop giving any attention to the shade of skin.

And why not tell people that the confederacy existed to preserve slavery and white supremacy. It did.

  • And one more thing, shouldnt you be questioning whether or not you are proud to be half black too, b/c Africans sold their own people....

  • @nessaroni22

To the people using the Africans sold their own people argument I say this. This argument shouldn't be about what race is to blame. This is about the institution of slavery. Since the Renaissance the whites have had most of economic and political power on this planet.Power corrupts no matter what race is in power. If it was another race then we would be talking about their demons. Lets own up to our mistakes but not forget all the great things that the white race has accomplished.

  • I'm black and white, and it makes me sad that you would question whether or not you are proud to be white...how is it not racist for black people to have their own organizations, student groups at universities, and scholarships? I'm not proud I'm mixed, thats just the way God made me. My ancestors owned slaves and were slaves. Its the history of the world, not just The South.

  • @nessaroni22 At that time blacks weren't allowed to go to white colleges so they created their own. Black organizations exist to help, encourage, and protect blacks. Should we no get rid of all these because oh hell wees free at last?

  • i loooove her hair it looks like mine....and im a guy LOL

  • BLACKS ARE THE BIGGIST RACIST I KNOW, WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THAT

  • @Tomsouthrock Racism is everywhere there is not one group more racist than the other.

  • so many flaws that it's not worth rebutting. But I will say this: don't just read out of a book and expect it all to be true.

  • slavery was on the way out imo as 3% of southern landholders actually held slaves. imo with the advent of modern farming techniques and equipment.slavery was definately an issue, but it was one among many.

  • @1unreconstructedreb Honey your facts came from the north so your facts are full of half truths...

  • @rebeliron yea, did you know that in the southern army the few blacks that served were treated the same, as far as food equipment and all body servants notwithstanding. however grant had to threaten to hang an entire regiment that wouldnt fight beside a colored regiment, shameful.... the civil war fundamentally changed the original intent of the constitution and altered the path of american society forever.? anyways i guess were better off with troops in 131 countries instead of 0.., arent we?

  • @1unreconstructedreb

righto - Eli Whitney's cotton gin made cotton as a cash crop much more proitable -

  • the idea that the black man was inferior to the white man was not exclusive to the south at that time. go back and read a little about douglass and lincolns discussions during that period and you will find that the great emancipator himself did not believe the black man to be the white mans equal.he was for shipping the negroes out of the country it just fell through. imo within the next 50 yrs slavery would have died of natural causes. deo-vindici

  • @1unreconstructedreb What is your point? You have not said anything that will change an opinion about the confederate flag. "oh just 50 years? well..lets get back to work then wees almost free'

  • @ddavey066

ha, not exactly what i meant. all i was saying is it could have been done without the loss of more life than any other war in US history, indeed all US wars combined. Hate the flag if you want, but dont think you can just say slavery & expect that to end all discussion. history especially on the civil war is very revisionist as to what we teach people. look at the opinions of some of todays political/judicial leaders like Paul or Napolitano and youll quickly see the north was as bad

  • @1unreconstructedreb

No it could not have been done without a bloody war that destroyed the South , because ppl like you 150 years later STILL spout convoluted arguments , condoning what you would not want done to you , ENSLAVEMENT ,

Discrimination , lynching . Wrong is wrong , right is right . Don't be a fool , you know whats right .

  • @hieronomy

i dont think youll find a post i made here condoning slavery. what you do is spout incoherent bs when you see someone whos proud of his southern heritage which like the north once supoprted the evil of slavery. you say i would not want it for me, well that is true. the thing is i dont want it for you either. i could sit and quote this statistic or that one but in the end all youll do is say "slavery" and that should end all discussion by your reasoning.

  • @1unreconstructedreb Ha ha get out of here with those european lies,if those cavemen didn't feel black were inferior, then why did the constitution state that a black person was 3/5 of a human?and why were blacks hung, burned, and raped?Even til this day whites still think there superior to every other race, you see how the US government goes around terrorizing other countries and stealing oil and shooting arab women and children, and if a country doesnt agree Amerikkka considers them a terrorist.

  • @guttaboi88

yet another gutter response from someone without the sense to look at history objectively. your entire response is to name-call & view americans as nazis & racists. you come down here where i live and we dont have all this white vs. black stuff that people like yourself are intent on perpetrating. last sunday i spent my day working a 5 acre garden my family grows for the neighbors & us. there were 2 black families working beside me&mine no hate, just neighbors trying to make it....

  • I really like your opinions here. I'm biracial also, and love your blog. :)

  • Mixed races make the most beautiful children.

  • @MrVeryStrangelife better looking than pure black maybe

  • @lsutigerfan86 I didn't name any races. I said nothing about purity. But, by your comment at this post you're assuming I'm white. I'm now assuming you're "pure" black with that angry black chip on your shoulder. Sounds like you don't like white mixed with black. The point of my comment is that 2 races can come together, equally, and have beautiful children. Maybe because I used the phrase "the most" put you on the defense. Purity of any race is a lame thing. Just ask Hitler.

  • If all you have is AH Stephen's speech, then your knowledge of history is quite limited. Do a little more research before you base your entire opinion of the war from one man's speech. It is called propaganda. Slave owners did NOT want to secede because the Constitution guaranteed slavery forever. Look up the Corwin Amendment that Lincoln endorsed. It was propaganda to try and get southern slave owners to secede. Please do your research.

  • Virginians! Virginians! For your lands! For your homes! For your sweethearts! For your wives! For… Virginia!! Forward!! March!!- Brig. General Lewis Addison Armistead, C.S.A.

The men who fought for Dixie fought for their homes.......And im a black man so fuck off and keep your Confederate money cause the South gonna do it again

  • Uneducated, racist hatemongers still spamming the board with flat-out lies. In fact, the confederacy refused to allow blacks to even enlist as soldiers until one week before the war ended, and only a handful ever served in combat.

    civilwargazette[DOT]wordpress[DOT]com/2008/03/13/did-blacks-fight-in-combat-for-the-confederacy/

By contrast, 200,000 blacks fought for AMERICA, for the obvious reason.

A few Jews supported Hitler. Does that justify the Holocaust?

  • @RonPaulHatesBlacks How ignorant can you be? Do some research. Frederick Douglas stated in 1862 that blacks were serving as soldiers in Confederate army with alarming numbers.

  • @RonPaulHatesBlacks

you have no idea what your talking about. i know for a fact my family fought for dixie. 22 of us and as many slaves that were with us. my family history books state very clearly that william buckner walls fought for the confederacy & all of his slaves fought beside him armed as his sons/cousins/ etc. what i can say is frank walls a slave of W.B.W is a common name for us to this day, he taught most of my great grandaddys children to read, we still have some of his stuff....

  • @1unreconstructedreb maybe i missed a great somewhere in there....

  • this cunt is a complete fuckin loser that seriously needs to get a life that involves more then sitting on youtube talking about how biracial she is.

  • over ten thousand blacks fought FREELY FOR THE CONFEDERACY once again the south did not fight for slavery damnit but for rights these lies the union give us are protecting them you idiots that belive them deserve to swing fast wikepedia is a lie your little book is written by a yankee

  • Most of the people of my generation (I'm 25) and even a bit older view the confederate flag as a bit of teenage rebelliousness. A sort of middle finger to politically correct and the status quo. I call this the "Dukes of Hazard" interpretation.

A lot of white people also feel that blacks are angry at them for slavery or the current plight of African-Americans. Most white people don't want to "owe" for having unwittingly been born into a world of white privilege despite enjoying that privilege.

  • You go, girl! I thinkthe South just isn't willing 2 give the slaves credit for building their little paradise. My ancestors had slaves. I think whites were really afraid because in some counties, they were outnumbered. At first it may have been cultural differences, the strangeness of Africans, but as people got to know each other, i'm sure there were some love affairs, all around. People didn't believe Fred.Douglas was such a Genius.I'd be interested to hear the Other side of my family history

  • There are bigoted people of all races, all walks of life. They defiantly are not confined to the south or white people.

  • THE NORTH OWNED SLAVES ALSO, AND SOME NORTHERNERS HAD SLAVES DURING THE WAR.

  • as to Alexander Stephens Cornerstone speech...not everybody agreed with him. Jefferson Davis didn't even mention slavery in his inaugural address. There is no excuse for the racial bigotry of the times, but that was certainly not limited to the South. Read some of Lincoln's statements about blacks. They are flamingly racist and these views were the norm in the North as well. Does that make the stars & stripes a hate symbol? The confederate flag never flew over a slave ship, the US flag did

  • confederate congress which did not authorize black troops until 1865 and were willing to take any man who would fight. Unlike in the federal army, black confederates got the same pay, uniforms equipment, etc and the same pay (again, not true in the federal army). Several units were integrated unlike in the federal army. Black Southerners in Gray, Mcglone, Forgotten Confederates baron segers rosenberg & Black Southerners in Confederate Armies segers barrow are 3 books on the subject

  • Firstly about Black Confederates...blacks joined the Confederate army for a variety of causes as one might expect when talking about millions of people. Some freedmen joined to show their patriotism and improve their lot. Some because they needed a job and worked as teamsters, cooks, etc. Some because personal relationships were sometimes quite close. Some because of blood relationships. 6 confederate states admitted black troops and many officers in the field simply ignored the ....cont

  • I am not a supporter of the Confederate flag or cause, but it must be kept in mind that the American Civil War was an event of vast scope and magnitude. It resembles what was said about the Russian revolution, "It was so big you could say anything about it, and it would be true." The terrible destruction of the Civil War was due in large part to the fact that an enormous number of people could find a reason for fighting or supporting someone who was fighting. It's difficult to draw lessons from.

  • and I think you are sexy

  • This is based on one book and wikipedia? What about the free black brigade form Louisiana that offered their services to the Confederate States? The Union owning Slaves after the war was over? Ulysses S. Grant saying if the war was about slavery he would offer his sword to the Confederates? Robert E. Lee never owned slaves. Does that book say anything about him? His wife inherited some slaves, but he freed them. How about his letter saying that slavery was evil? Black confederates are heroes.

  • anoda dummb nigger talki bout dis shit lmao

  • For this one book, there is another that will go the opposite direction with the view.

It can be both confusing and controversial. I'm not sure exactly when A.H. Stevens made that speech, but it doesn't fit in with his home life very well. Alexander educated his slaves, taught them to read and write and to conduct business. He even sent his house servant's son to college. Anyway not all white people are bad. there are open minded and narrowminded people in all races.

  • get over it its over we are all one the past is past and how long will people go back and bring up our primitive past trent oz

  • @NuclearrGaming - hmmmm ...maybe as long as our US history courses contain the confederacy in its history lessons in schools...?

  • @NuclearrGaming - hhmmm.... maybe as long as confederacy is included in public and private school lesson plans?

  • @NuclearrGaming - hhmmm.... as long as the confederacy in included in lesson plans in our school system?

  • It's funny that people still believe that Abe Lincoln actually LIKED black people. MOST white southerners didn't own slaves. The root of this whole problem is just what the bible says-the love of money!!!!! When will anybody ever realize the REAL problem?? They never will, because they're all too busy chasing their own cash. So, they'll all continue whining (both black and white) racism. Open your eyes for just a second and look at the real problem-GREED!!!

  • I don't get it. Why are so many people who dislike your position bothering to watch your video, let alone comment on its contents? I disagree with many things that are said on Youtube, but I really don't have time to go around debunking each of them.

  • antiracist so your promoting what you hate? WTF...?

  • the reason they say things like that is because the wanted to keep the slaves as dumb as possible not because they racist but because of business. why would you want your investment getting up and revolting against you? it like the NFL right now why are you allowing your million dollar players get beat up. and honestly they didn't see them as ppl they seen them more like animals. as sad as that is. and your just an egotastical girl who puts her own twist on things. and your more like an

  • Rich man's war, poor man's fight. Sure, many a plantation owner backed the war to keep his slaves, but the average southerner (who didnt own any slaves btw) cared more about not being resented because NO ONE in the eleven states that secceded voted for Lincoln. Look it up, and do more research before you post videos

  • Hmm... You hate the confederate flag so much, therefore you talk about it half of your videos? Nothing better to do then to bash a flag, you know nothing about.

  • @YourGuardianSoldier I'm a little confused. I don't claim to have watched every video she has made, but I have watched quite a few. In which other videos did she mention the confederate flag? This is the first time I have heard her speak on this topic, and so I must have missed those.

  • ok, so PLEASE STOP with the attempted blanket statements about white people, instead of just specifying the ACTUAL culprits in racist activities.

  • that was ONE person that made that speech, ok? NOT ALL white people felt that way about blacks, because there WAS such a thing as the UNDERGROUND RAILROAD, remember? and i'm very sure that WHITE people had to PARTICIPATE in that kind of activity, to make it actually succeed, you know?

  • @vidguy Of course, there were many who despised slavery and wanted it to end.

  • @vidguy you do know that blacks, not whites, did the Underground railroad? Right?

If you think whites were bending overbackwards to help blacks, you are an idiot. Almost all those in the underground railroad, were blacks.

  • @NawwLeans There were white people who helped harbor slaves. Even blacks have written about it in narratives.

  • @briarts yes, some. But the majority were the freed blacks. SOmehow, over the years, the whites were emphasized more and more. God bless those who helped, of all colors, but the majority of the Underground railroad was freed or escaped blacks, helping each other.

Go to the museum in Rochester NY and see the display they have there about it.

  • @briarts yeah did it not tell you that blacks even enslaved their own race and sold them off to white people? hmm? no, thats why your stuck on one side of it...

  • @YourGuardianSoldier Most people already know that blacks enslaved other blacks. What side am I supposedly stuck on?

  • @briarts Left Wing.

  • @YourGuardianSoldier What does being left wing have to do with this? Also, I'm more moderate.

  • @NawwLeans ok, DO YOU UNDERSTAND the DEFINITION of the word ALMOST?

thats LESS THAN TOTALLY EXCLUSIVE from one person/group's participation in an activity. so, you STILL ADMNIT that at least SOME whites participated, because again NOT ALL WHITES are PREJUDICED, or do you want to believe that BULLS-T REVERSE RACIST/BIGOTRY propaganda that you get taught in "ethnic studies" classes?

  • @vidguy yes, but the myth that most of us grew up with, is that whites were doing the UR.

God bless those few that helped.

I was taught the myth - I assumed whites were doing almost all the UR. I didnt learn otherwise until I went to museum and saw the exhibit. There were some fantastic white folks. There were also scum sucking black folks that sold out other slaves for a price.

  • wow you sure know your history. beautiful and smart.

  • "i think the underdog is clearly always the black people?" ...lmfao youve got to be kidding me, i got in multiple fights in school for NOT supporting obama during the election because i was a supposed racist. the fuck..

  • The Africans were sold by other Africans because slavery was a commodity by England, and as all hemogonous countries, there are crimes against one another...there were all types captured including warriors..whom are the reason for our freedom today! the Native Americans were warriors..can't enslave warriors!

  • The African kings sold the ones in their country they considered to be inferior. This is how african americans got the label. Your author neglected to tell you this. Also, with the exception of the large plantation owners in the south, As a percentage the north owned more slaves per person than southern people.

  • Tiffdjones,in regards to the speech made by A Stephens in the book you quote from [One Drop] ascertaining the white supremacy line as the Confederacy being the first to recognized this right. I must disagree with your analysis. The Declaration of Independence declares this right, that" All Men Are Created Equal", that is white men of course . So for Stephens to express this as fact is erroneous in regards to the Confederacy being the first. To further add , the Dred Scott judgement 1857.

  • Ah, just read that book "one drop". The interesting thing is Bliss Broyard great great grand father Henry, who was brought up by his father's mulatto common law wife amongst mulatto siblings pass for "coloured" so that he could marry his coloured sweet heart and legitamise his son. He gave up white "privilege" for love. Now that is a romantic storry. He also served in the Native guard.

  • We are all a victim of our times, limited by current knowledge and long held traditions. Each culture has it's own shame to bear, you will never sift it out. The first slave owner in America, was a black man. You have every right to be just as proud of the accomplishments of your white forbearers as you do black. Are you ashamed to be black because of men like Ben Jealous or Louis Farrakhan? We've come a long way, but have a ways to go still. You're just too pretty, btw.

  • I think souterners can have pride in the confederate flag in the same way that any american can have pride in the american flag despite the genocide of the native american people that occured under the flag. The ideals of equality have mostly permeated the south.

By the way did you know that a lot of freed slaves in the south actually ended up being slave owners themselves? Did you know that Lee freed his slaves before the war and Grant didn't free his till he was forced to by the new law?

  • that there is a physical difference between the white and black races which I believe will forever forbid the two races living together on terms of social and political equality. And inasmuch as they cannot so live, while they do remain together there must be the position of superior and inferior, and I, as much as any other man, am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the white race.”

  • @HIGHLANDERONELOVE People in trhis day and age are equal. That doesn;t eradicate prejudices that some people have, but everyone does have equal rights. People of all backgrounds can live together if they don't treat each other with prejudices. It's only cause some people don;t want to, that causes the problem.

  • quote from a speech Lincoln delivered in 1858 in Charleston, Ill.:

“I will say, then, that I am not, nor ever have been, in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the white and black races—that I am not, nor ever have been, in favor of making voters or jurors of Negroes, nor of qualifying them to hold office, nor to intermarry with white people; and I will say in addition to this,

  • AMERICA DIDNT GET RID OF SLAVERY THEY JUST PHASED OUT AFRICAN SLAVES WITH WHITE IMMIGRANTS THAT MAY AS WELL HAVE BEEN SLAVES.

  • That is true but Lincoln should have given the plantation owners incentives to free slaves and avoided a war which put many black americans in worse shape than they were before the war. Instead he taxed the hell out of cotton. I think lincoln and davis were both very bad leaders. They cost untold numbers of american lives.

  • The answer is-The only thing unique about slavery and the U.S. IS ARE YOU READY ?! it was the first nation to abolish it worldwide.the only nation to fight a war over it,the only pres.the cost was his life.almost 100 years before other nations slowly phased it out due to pressure from US and Eng.So if you are as ar·tic·u·late as you let on,then why waste all this energy on something the vast majority of us realized 300+ years ago?is it because you think it has ended,it has not, worldwide re-focus

  • @rudarisfinaris WTH?! We were 1 of the last nations to get rid of it.

  • @dmkavidelly No you could not be more wrong. Now if you are basing your statement on what is printed in a social studies book then you would be right, there are way to many actual history books based only on the worlds history of slavery to continue with that false statement, unless your'e ideals fit that statement. If you are interested let me know and I can list a score of actual history books, thanks Rudaris

  • @rudarisfinaris And a carful reading of the 13th Amendment will show that it's actually STILL legal, it's just restricted.

  • YOU SHOULD GOOGLE RASCIST QUOTES BY OL HONEST ABE... LOT OF PEOPLE WERE RASCIST IN THE 1800'S NORTH AND SOUTH.... YOU CAN ALSO GOOGLE SOME MORE QUOTES BY BLACK SOLDIERS..

  • @HIGHLANDERONELOVE Where do you stand on this issue?

  • I STAND ON THE SIDE OF OPEN MINDEDNESS AND DIGGIN DEEPER. I ACTUALLY TAKE THIS ISSUE VERY SERIOUS AND I SUPPOSE IM ON THE SIDE OF THE C.S.A. SHE IS QUOTING THE VP OF THE C.S.A. WELL NO ONE IS SAYING THE C.S.A. DIDNT SUPPORT SLAVERY. MY THING IS THAT ENGLAND AMERICA AND MANY OTHER COUNTRIES SUPPORTED SLAVERY FOR THOUSANDS OF YEARS. THERE IS STILL SLAVERY AND GENOCIDE TODAY. HISTORY WOULD HAVE YOU BELIEVE ABE AND THE NORTH FOUGHT THE WAR TO FREE THE SLAVES.

  • WELL FOR ONE SLAVERY WAS LEGAL SO WHY WOULD THE SOUTH GO TO WAR OVER IT. 2 ABE AND PLENTY OF NORTHERN STATES WERE RACIST AND HAD SLAVES. THE SOUTH WAS JUST MORE DEPENDENT ON SLAVERY B/C OF AGRICULTURE AND THE NORTH COULD REPLACE SLAVES WITH POOR IMMIGRANTS WHO MIGHT AS WELL OF BEEN SLAVES. JUST THINK ITS LAME TO HANG SLAVERY AND RASCISIM ON THE C.S.A. WHEN ITS BEEN GOING ON SINCE BEGINING OF TIME.

  • you say that blacks were forced into serving for the confederate army, but you forget that white ppl were forced into service as well. there was no rich wimp way out like in the north, $300 and u dont have to serve. you quote alexander stevens' speech as proof of the confederacy's evil slave oriented purpose. since when does one man account for the views of an entire nation? if obama says that america loves rock and roll, does he account for all the opinions in america? i think not...

  • The Confederacy crossed social darwinism with the barbaric colonial practice of slavery to form a basic form of Fascism. This set the stage for the Communist and the Nazi's in the 21st century. When the Confederacy was defeated the Democrats turned to socialsim to try to seduce blacks back into slavery.

  • Tiffany I commented on your #11 video today & I can see u must have made it goal of your own to research history for answers and from what I'm hearing now u seem to have grown outside your box quite a bit. Love to you - keep pursueing your truth.

  • Lady, you are awesome. Thank you for doing what you do. You perked up my night.

    Peace!

  • typical response the confederate flag is not a racist symbol i mean its a FLAG and how can a flag be racist and plus the confederacy was based on much more than slavery such as states rights so to all you people saying people who like the rebel flag or fly the rebel flag racist you need a history lesson

  • @IXI12thMANIXI

the flag was used by descendants of confederates as a symbol of white supremacy pure fact buddy. Which is why it still today shows up in the hands of white supremacists. Don;t lie to these people.

  • I feel bad that slavery even happened in this country. On the other hand if any fore site was around great efforts should have been made to return the blacks to their rightful home in Africa. Although that would have been expensive, things would have been much simpler then the mess we live in today. You can blaime it on greed but, in the long run things would have been cheaper.

  • Do not take the pathe of the white, the black, or the mulatto, nor the path the gov't hands you. They have been traveled. Cut your own path. Be an individual American not a small, insignificant part of a defined group...

  • @unapologeticsouth Spoken like a white man that has no concept of how race and ethnic relations play in everything; economics, sociology, politics, the criminal justice system. In studies asking "how much does race affect your life" and "how often do you think about race" whites usually say "very little" and minorities answer "much" and "often" & it wasn't just racist respondents or just one political party or one part of USA. It's across the board. It's called "White Privilege."

  • @unapologeticsouth yeah thats a good idea, ME ME ME, instead of whats GOOD FOR THE COMMUNITY THAT I SHARE, which shows how typical it is for people to NOT LEARN from their mistakes, and move forward into higher development.

  • In this nation under God, inequality is only self- provided and self fulfilled because, for now, we are individual Americans with individual rights, and individual paths to travel.

By our rules the only way my rights, liberties, and opportunities can be restricted is if I choose for them to be.

  • @unapologeticsouth That's also white privilege. The only way your rights etc can be restricted is if YOU choose for them to be; if you screw up. There are far too many black youth who loose their liberties just for living in systemic inequality, good kids surrounded by crime, good kids in poverty, schools that shortchange them, typical dumb kid mistakes, tried as adults, get the book thrown at them, just kids who are no worse than the white frat boy who is also just as unruly, BUT PRIVILEGED.

  • In these United States of America I hold my own reigns.

In this great land if there is a bit in my mouth I put it there, no one else.

If the opportunity guaranteed to me is not fully exploited it is my fault.

If the outcome of my endeavor is less than my peer’s it is due to my failure not due to any lack of equality.

I don’t expect to be afforded any special rights or privileges because I chose a less equitable path.

  • @unapologeticsouth Again, white privilege. You didn't do it, all by yourself, you didn't create the system, you just inherited it, but you need to understand that your good fortune and your liberty ARE NOT something that you earned because you passed some test with flying colors. It's more like winning a lottery. You will get benefits for never having done anything to earn them. Likewise, racial minorities will get the opposite.

Yes, if there is a bit in YOUR mouth, you put it there. True.

  • @the1andonlyMizMoon I didn't grow up wealthy. I didn't grow up more privlaged than any one around me. My neighborhood was on the outskirts of town and was about 50% black 50% white. I didn't even graduate with honors. But I did make good choices. I was a "good kid surrounded by crime" as you put it. But guess what... I am my own person. I seperated myself from the BS. Quit feeeling sorry for your self and do something about it that does not include stepping on some one elses liberties.

  • @the1andonlyMizMoon As far as your lottery theory...I guess you could make that analogy, as long as you understand that in this lottery you get to pick your numbers and draw the balls. And that if you are in this country you won the same lottery I did.

  • @the1andonlyMizMoon Perhaps I did "pass some test with flying colors" Maybe you could look at those "dumb kid mistakes" you mentioned as tests. Most dumb kid MISTAKES are things like breaking a window with a baseball, wrecking moms car... dumb kid CRIMES are what gets the book thrown at you. Things like breaking AND ENTERING and STEALING cars.

  • "I WILL SAY, THEN, THAT I AM NOT, NOR EVER HAVE BEEN, IN FAVOR OF BRINGING ABOUT IN ANY WAY THE SOCIAL AND POLITICAL EQUALITY OF THE WHITE AND BLACK RACES- THAT I AM NOT IN FAVOR OF MAKING VOTERS OR JURORS OF NEGROES NOR OF QUALIFYING THEM TO HOLD OFFICE, NOR INTERMARRY WITH WHITE PEOPLE;AND I WILL SAY...THERE IS A PHYSICAL DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE BLACK AND WHITE RACES...I, AS MUCH AS ANY OTHER MAN AM IN FAVOR OF HAVING THE SUPERIOR POSITION ASSIGNED TO THE WHITE RACE." ABE LINCOLN 1858

  • You should not study history in such a one side fashion. Of all people, I would think that a mulatto could or should have a better understanding of the propoganda of the race pimps in this country. The view expressed by the VP of the confederacy was the common view of Americans at that time. As I have demonstrated with the above quote from the great "emancipator" (honest Abe) even the President of the U.S. held very racist ideas as truths.
