Nothing is worse then busting your ass dropping in a new engine to has some bull shit go wrong. I rebuilt a nissan engine and didn't seal the head right so all the compression was gone and it wouldn't go past like 55mph down hill. Had to take the head off and redo it. Never ran the same, but I was still able to sell it for more then I bought it for.
@wasad20 Synthetic doesn't harm it in anyway. People have been running synthetic in rotarys for decades. Including myself. I'm sure they just have that in the manual to pass some kind of emission laws, same goes for them claiming you to run 5w20 weight.
@3ricman do a little research, rotary engines dont have connecting rods or a crankshaft for that matter, could have been the eccentric shaft or one of the balancers or the housing was cracked resulting in the rotor to knock on something
Dude it's a fucking car. It has thousands of moving parts that all move at once. So what if it makes a noise. If it still drives, it's fine. Dumb bitch.
@HDMFly yes but its not a mosh pit its more or less a mechanical ballet and if your engine has a problem your probably paying for more gas and parts........but how should you know that you have probably never owned a car...
I work at a shop and i have PLENTY of customers that pump it in them all the time. FOR MONTHS!..No problem. Do you even no what a "synthetic oil" is dip shit? Its a man made oil that is more consistent and pure in a way then normal oil derived from base crude. ALMOST ALL OILS NOW ARE SYNTHETIC BLENDS ANWAY! If you think that will cause a knock your dumb,Weather it a mazda or a ford an internal combustion engines properties are all about the same. Talk all the shit you want work on cars everyday
@chicken69tenders A lot of people do that though - some manufacturers don't really label the "washer fluid" and "water/fluid" reservoir too well, or the labeling is worn off and honestly, they both kinda look the same (both are usually white containers put in front of/around the front wheelwell in the bay)
Mazdas are really great cars. There just like every other car you have to take care of them and maintain them but they are actually very reliable and pretty good on gas. And just because there made in japan doesnt mean anything, look at almost any engine in a Mazda and you will see ford on the majority of the parts
THE PROBLEM IS BETWEEN THE SEAT AND STEERIN WHEEL. Another thing, American cars are not always notified in time, I had an American car, lit check engine light and 10 minutes broke down and did not turn
its a mazda what do you expect ? and for some odd reason japanese cars have issues with check engine light not coming on even if its serous problem. thats why you buy american cheaper reliable and not to mention smallest issue check engine will come to warn you ahead of time :)
Thats your exhuast bro. The piece that hooks up to your manifold is loose or was. My Lancer did the same thing had it checked top to bottom and got it haha!
@wasad20 Why would that hurt anything? I have an 89 mustang, 94 3000gt, 92 civic all, 2000 kia running on it and according to the owners manuals they never used it.As long as you got a clean engine internally its great, Dumbass
@ProjectHatchB18 Hey bitch, I don't GIVE A SHIT what u have. How about you go get a 2006 Mazda RX8 and pump synthetic oil in it for 10 months. See how it runs and get back to me.
You must be a troll because that's the only reason you'll send a message like that. It's real easy to talk big shit behind your computer little boy. I thought this was a RX8 and all of a sudden ppl wanna make a comment. So please tell me what was your reason for posting that comment? I'm DEFINITELY sure my IQ is larger than yours.
U buy this car new, pre-owned, or used? If it is pre-owned or used, it don't matter how religiously you changed the oil. The previous owner neglected to do routine oil changes, fucked the motor, and you've inherited their problem. BTW, Check Engine light trips when sensors detect the car is running out of spec. Sensors will trip a Check Engine light when they malfunction, the engine overheats, misfires, etc. But there is no sensor telling you the engine's lower half is fried.
@krazyk86cu Whoever owned the car must've kept putting in a quart every time the car was low rather than change it all every 3 months or 3,000 miles. Sure, new oil lubricated the valves, but the glumpy oil stayed in the bottom of the engine, but failed to lubricate the engine's bottom half because it clogged the oil passages. That's why it sounds like a diesel. Driving with no oil strips the valves and you would've heard the valves rattling and a skittering sound from the top of the engine.
@krazyk86cu Either scenario is too costly to fix the block and its cheaper to replace the whole engine. The good side is if someone had a good engine needing valves or a good cylinder head, they can take it off your engine and fix their engine for cheap.
@krazyk86cu don't know bout your state but in CA if you KNOWINGLY sell a car with a drive train issue and neglect to divulge it that's grounds for a lawsuit. usually to the tune of the seller taking the car back and you having your money refunded. if this was from a dealer then things get REALLY interesting. if i were you id contact a lawyer after determining the issue to see what advice he/she can give you.
@OverlyExcitedNewJack I changed the oil on my old car regularly. Kia is gonna change the oil in my new Kia so they have a record of all the required maintenance. This keeps my 10 year warranty good.
HAH! You didn't even check to see what it was? You just threw your money away into a new engine. What a disgrace. For all you know, it could've been as easy as an accessory belt slipped off and tapping on something rotating. Changing oil is nothing, doing it right with the stuff you're supposed to have is another. You could've easily put in too light weight of oil in it. That, or the complete wrong fluid.
@krazyk86cu Still doesn't mean a whole lot. It could've been out of his range of skill and knowledge to have figured out or notice, or even diagnose. Best be taken to a dealership, or a specialist on Mazda's. I'm sure you had some sort of warranty that went with it.
@krazyk86cu That's not entirely true. Some codes aren't considered urgent enough to set a MIL. I've pulled them from several Mustangs without the MIL illuminated. you might want to look into getting a mechanic that actually knows how to diagnose cars next time.
might just be the a/c compressor. I'm not to well versed in mazda but I know you've got to have a knock sensor which would throw the check engine light.
@REWej8 Wrong kind of knock. That sensor is for timing and fuel related. Nothing to do with a spun rod bearing knock. If there is no check engine light its usually a mechanical failure. hearing this problem on a video doesn't help at all.
That is why you check and make sure the engine is good >.> and its a knock! maybe its from the timing chain sliders/timing chain being loose/or belts.. i had that problem on my mazda 3 too .. just changed it .
Did you actually change it with a FULL synthetic? Or did you change it with what the American industry calls FULL Synthetic. Amsoil, RLI, Royal Purple and Red Line are the only few companies that sell OTC full synthetics. Mobil does sell a few viscs but you have to make sure it is PAO or PAE base stocks not Group III crap.
