Sounds very good but why call it Dime when Dime himself never played on it. Change the name and its a good amp, now it's a bit of an insult in my opinion. If people want a sound like Dimebag than they should go for an old Randall head like the warhead, titan or cyclone.
@KnownNoMore Same reason why they started to build a gazillion guitars with his name on it. Money. They knew they could make a good pile of money on it.
@stonedparyah he used a solid state Randall for most of his career. The only tube amp that i know Dime ever used was the Krank Krankenstein. Which was the last brand of amps he used
Dean is ripping off Dimebag. He had his signature amp with Krank a couple of months before he died. The only Dimebag signature amp I'll use is the Krankenstein.
If you want to sound something like Dimebag, I highly recommend the MXR Dime Distortion pedal. At least they're not trying to make money with shitty products.
@matbeckeresurrected Dime Strings Dime Picks Dime Straps Dime Wigs Dime Costumes Dime Make-up Dime Cereal Dime Soda Pop Dime Lunch Box Its A Dime Dime World After All...
@mikeygheetarz By the looks of it it is a direct knock off of the century 100 head he used for like 10 years. So this is probably more accurate than the krank for dime tone. He never used krank for pantera. Only Damageplan.
@chickensandbeandip I understand that, in his Pantera days he was more towards Randall. The Krankenstein however was his specific design, and is much more a signature amp than this knock-off will ever be. In fact, he designed them specifically so he could play old Pantera riffs with only a slightly altered tone.
@marcussilvamgs Dimebag was in the process of relaseing this amp before he died. He made all the adjustments for it and everything. Sadley he got shot before he could relase it to the public himself.
useing an amp dime never played and a guitar he never used how are you gonna get his tone? get a rg100 and a ML and do it right if your gonna try and sound like dime
@MrFrancescosmusic Yeah, though I think Dime may have had plans for these amps before he died. Dime's self-proclaimed "hag" Rita was (and still is) handling all his business stuff outside of recording and touring, and I think still manages his estate, so It's kind of not surprising to me. I think it's just one way of keeping his name alive. (and still making a profit)
Dime already has a signature amp, the Krankenstein. Why would I buy a signature amp if the person its named after wasn't here to give his input on it?
@Ddub128 but it works well and its very nice to keep his name around but you are 100% right the voice of dime comes with what he customize with Krankenstein back in the day .
@Ddub128 i agree with what your saying dimes name shouldnt be on it but the cool thing they leave out all the time is that dimes sound man worked with them to get the dime sound they should market it different theres a namm vid interviewing the tech dude on here somewhere :O)
@TranyaAddict Most people have no idea what 'British crunch' really means, including myself. There are so many different tones from the UK - Matamp, Orange, Hiwatt, Marshall, Cornford - that the true definition of 'british crunch' becomes muddy. All those amplifiers sound very different, yet all signify 'British crunch'. They're just buzz words that manufacturers like to use to excite listeners who have grown up on Led Zeppelin and AC/DC. It's lazy advertising.
@angrygoldfish Its more amp voicing, british/american, british generally being more middy.. im not too keyed into it but you can certainly hear the difference. But yeah, not advertising buzz words, just ways of describing.shiz.
Another thing, he wasnt saying AC/DC were british, just that the guitar sound is distinctly so......
@TranyaAddict I'm not contradicting your point, but all the current members of AC/DC (apart from Phil Rudd) were born in either England or Scotland so anyone who hasn't looked up the bands origins might assume they're British from their accents.
@TranyaAddict i think what he was tying to say was that you could get that british-crunch style tone that AC/DC has man... not that they're from aussie.
@justintfs93 Oh yeah I totally know that man, just thought it would be a laugh if I said that they're from Australia anyway. The comment comes off a little weird in the video so thought I'd make a joke about it lol
Man, you should have never done BOTH Channels..Clean / Dirty together...it really gives away how the Dirty lacks fullness in sound compared to a clean sound...
Great demo and I own the Dime head. I prefer the clean channel and use pedals. My own taste but the dirty channel is nasty if you use the right axe. The only 2 issues I have with this amp are the volume and gain should be switched. The first channel is clean yet they put the volume and gain to the right and the dirty channel volume and gain to the left. Every other head I've owned always had the clean ch knobs first, this amp is backwards. Secondly it's a shame it's made in China...
Nice amp but i would not use that onstage...its a cookie cutter guitar amp for one, 2nd .dime switched to krankenstein tube amplifiers... solid state...just don't compare to tube amps...a good representation of the randall rg100 i will give it that...Why would you wanna sound like another guitarist in the first place?
@skullfacemorte I believe Kirk Windstein used Dime amps for the last Crowbar tour. So why wouldn't you use it onstage? Not trying to start an argument or anything, just wondering why you made that comment. Cheers!
@skullfacemorte well, there are a lot of young guitarists who like to try and sound like their idols. Dean/Dime are essentially attempting to profit off that market.
@trollusohard Im not hating on solids man. haha i own a randall G2 series. Through my Marshall 60 lead cab this thing blows away most solid states. I love Randall. I was just interested in this. Thanks for the info on it though! ill deffinitly check it out if i ever see one.

@chuckelator your probly a faggy musician and play music with no spine so take your marshal and shove it up your ass b4 you state your opinion about what other people may like
@900wills This may be one of the single dumbest things I've seen posted. So by me stating my personal opinion, I offend you because you don't share the same? All I'm saying is this amp sounds bad to my ears. The fact that your first instinct is to throw childish insults at me proves nothing. Also, PLEASE learn to use punctuation.
@chuckelator I'll amend this to say... This amp combines two things I dislike... Solid-State (with a hand full of exceptions of course) and super high-gain. This thing probably has no touch sensitivity, probably won't respond too well to guitar volume changes, and the cleans sound so brittle and stale. I'll take my Marshalls, or my Egnater any day.
Hey if anyone has this, can they give me their best settings for the dirty channel. I'm fiddling with it and it's starting to sound good but what have you all been using?
Meh, i love dime and all but there is alot better for the price, you can find an actual randall warhead for a couple hundred more bucks if you're lucky.
I've always defended solid state gear but the problem is that the good solid state amps are almost as expensive as tube ones. And no matter how good the sound, a solid state amp should always be a lot cheaper than a tube amp because they cost so much less to produce. With this one there's finally a solid state amp that both sounds good AND is reasonably priced.
How can this "clone" be anything being solid state? Has anybody ever heard the difference in volume between tube and solid state? i bet if you turn this amp up it screams with feedback and too much gain for a non-tube amp to handle. Clone... More like clone with its balls chopped off.
@WEEDewitt Actually Kirk Windstein was using this amp head at a Crowbar show I was at last year and it sounded great. And I'm assuming you didn't know that the Randall amp Dimebag used for most of his work was a solid state. In my honest opinion I kind of like solid state amps more, there's typically less trouble with them, they're cheaper and there's less hassle of the sound changing at different volume levels. Oranges, Laneys and Blackstars are great but for this price you really can't beat it.
sorry to be one of those losers who puts 'RIP' on all Dimebag related videos. But does anyone else go numb for a nanosecond when people talk about how Dimebag "USED" to play
Iam not saying its a bad amp I just don't think dime would played we all know before his death was getting into tube amps again. Long live dime in my heart forever
The clean channel with reverb really sounds close to the original recording. The second channel without boost seems cool to me. But on my Peavey tube amp, I also use boost. Very nice!
@dimebag333100 Dime used the Randall RG100 ES/RG 100 HT (CFH and Trendkill), the Randall Century 200 (Vulgar and Far beyond Driven) the Warhead for Reinventing the Steel and New Found Power ! He switched to Krank only weeks before his death and did not record with them!
Absolutely phenominal amplifier, it has pretty much every sound that a guitarist who wants tones would need. It may be branded with Dime, but it might as well have Marshall printed on the front. Anyone that on the lookout for a great deal on this model, Fox UK music had a couple in stock. I bought one from them and got a great deal on the entire head/cab setup. Search them up and go from there!
Im hoping the BOTH CHANNELS deal on the pedal is to control FX Loops..or...Man, the demo was going great until I noticed the footswitch doesn't control the FX LOOPS...whats the deal having TWO flexible loops without control up front of the stage...? Hmmmm...ok...moving on to the rest of the Vid.
@megadethpwnsTallica Randal discountinued manufacture of the RG100 ES, Century 200, and Warhead, all amps that Dimebag used, they can be found used but not that easily people are holding onto them. This amp was designed by the former Randall engineer who designed the RG100 ES, Gary Sunda with input from Grady Champion Dime's guitar tech from the Pantera era, it is essentially a Hot rodded RG100 ES in fact straight from the box it sounds better, I happen to own both amps!
Dean or any other company CAN'T make Dime guitars with his name on them WITHOUT getting permission from whoever he left his estate to. Dean dosent even have to put dimes name on the razorback because Dean most likely has the patent for the shape even tho dime designed it. they put his name on guitars in memory of dime and when his name is on it his estate gets a cut of the money. they make from selling them.
1:34 what the fuck is he talking about? the pickups don't fucking matter, there are passives that are more responsive and have more output than actives, this guys a retard.
@metallica5252 It makes sense that actives would work better with a low impedance circuit, in theory. In reality, once a guitar signal hits a buffer, stompbox, etc., I don't think it matters, since the signal is boosted.
Amp sounds great for what it is (budget solid state)
@Crunchifyable2 If that was true then my friends ESP equipped with EMGs would sound fine on his Valveking on the input with low impedance, except it doesn't. it sounds like trash, once he goes to the high gain one it really screams.
It sounds ok, even alright enough for me to MAYBE want one, but the stupidly huge dime name is just outrageous looking. Way to capitalize even more on the name of a dead man. Whatever happened to resting in peace?
One thing people don't remember is Dime used Solid states in the beginning so its really his old tone if you think about it, still no one gave him the tone like Krank did and does
@EMGmikey Dime recorded his entire body of work on Randall solid state amps of varying models, he only used Krank for a few weeks before his death and did not record with them. Damageplan's New Found Power was recorded using Randall Warhead solid state amps. Dimebag preferrd the tight punch of solid state over the warmth of tubes mainly because of the lag tubes tend to have when a chord is struck, don't believe me find the Dimebag Darrell @ Krank amps video on You Tube
@9evilnine9 i'm not saying krank or randall is better, i like Randall and Krank, however i'm a tube amp guy so i like the "rainbow" spectrum you get with tubes, whichever company he used he did American, Metal, and shredders a huge favor in pushing the boundries
solid state hmmmmmmmmm

I've always defended solid state gear but the problem is that the good solid state amps are almost as expensive as tube ones. And no matter how good the sound, a solid state amp should always be a lot cheaper than a tube amp because they cost so much less to produce. With this one there's finally a solid state amp that both sounds good AND is reasonably priced.

How can this "clone" be anything being solid state? Has anybody ever heard the difference in volume between tube and solid state? i bet if you turn this amp up it screams with feedback and too much gain for a non-tube amp to handle. Clone... More like clone with its balls chopped off.
WEEDewitt 2 months ago
@WEEDewitt Actually Kirk Windstein was using this amp head at a Crowbar show I was at last year and it sounded great. And I'm assuming you didn't know that the Randall amp Dimebag used for most of his work was a solid state. In my honest opinion I kind of like solid state amps more, there's typically less trouble with them, they're cheaper and there's less hassle of the sound changing at different volume levels. Oranges, Laneys and Blackstars are great but for this price you really can't beat it.

Unless they're selling those things for $120, they're a rip off. Those things sound terrible. Sorry.
mindlessinsanities 3 months ago
sorry to be one of those losers who puts 'RIP' on all Dimebag related videos. But does anyone else go numb for a nanosecond when people talk about how Dimebag "USED" to play
ArtOfRuin75 3 months ago
Iam not saying its a bad amp I just don't think dime would played we all know before his death was getting into tube amps again. Long live dime in my heart forever

The clean channel with reverb really sounds close to the original recording. The second channel without boost seems cool to me. But on my Peavey tube amp, I also use boost. Very nice!

can you play like deathcore/ metalcore on this amp?

DAMN!!! THIS AMP IS TERRIFYING!!!
SpinalAlloy 3 months ago
I have this head, I use it with a Marshall cab. It's a great non tube head and works even better with stomp pedals.
The clean channel is a little bassy compaired to the gain channel. Nothing a little EQ setting can't fix.
Great head long live Dime's memory!

i love dean but randall needs to start making the rg100 again lol
thetrendkiller420 3 months ago
Dean will throw dimes name on anything to make a buck we all know the real dime amp was the Randall warhead enuff said
dimebag333100 3 months ago
@dimebag333100 Or before that, Randall Century-200 heads and cabs.
Gregrg7 3 months ago
@dimebag333100 Dime used the Randall RG100 ES/RG 100 HT (CFH and Trendkill), the Randall Century 200 (Vulgar and Far beyond Driven) the Warhead for Reinventing the Steel and New Found Power ! He switched to Krank only weeks before his death and did not record with them!
9evilnine9 3 months ago
Sounds pretty good
holocaustocannibal 3 months ago
Absolutely phenominal amplifier, it has pretty much every sound that a guitarist who wants tones would need. It may be branded with Dime, but it might as well have Marshall printed on the front. Anyone that on the lookout for a great deal on this model, Fox UK music had a couple in stock. I bought one from them and got a great deal on the entire head/cab setup. Search them up and go from there!
sammeister1 3 months ago
Im hoping the BOTH CHANNELS deal on the pedal is to control FX Loops..or...Man, the demo was going great until I noticed the footswitch doesn't control the FX LOOPS...whats the deal having TWO flexible loops without control up front of the stage...? Hmmmm...ok...moving on to the rest of the Vid.

this or the Randall rg100es?
megadethpwnsTallica 4 months ago
@megadethpwnsTallica Randal discountinued manufacture of the RG100 ES, Century 200, and Warhead, all amps that Dimebag used, they can be found used but not that easily people are holding onto them. This amp was designed by the former Randall engineer who designed the RG100 ES, Gary Sunda with input from Grady Champion Dime's guitar tech from the Pantera era, it is essentially a Hot rodded RG100 ES in fact straight from the box it sounds better, I happen to own both amps!
9evilnine9 3 months ago
could this amp be good for firewind style?
MatKiller1197 4 months ago
Dean or any other company CAN'T make Dime guitars with his name on them WITHOUT getting permission from whoever he left his estate to. Dean dosent even have to put dimes name on the razorback because Dean most likely has the patent for the shape even tho dime designed it. they put his name on guitars in memory of dime and when his name is on it his estate gets a cut of the money. they make from selling them.

1:34 what the fuck is he talking about? the pickups don't fucking matter, there are passives that are more responsive and have more output than actives, this guys a retard.
metallica5252 4 months ago
@metallica5252 It makes sense that actives would work better with a low impedance circuit, in theory. In reality, once a guitar signal hits a buffer, stompbox, etc., I don't think it matters, since the signal is boosted.
Amp sounds great for what it is (budget solid state)
Crunchifyable2 4 months ago
@Crunchifyable2 If that was true then my friends ESP equipped with EMGs would sound fine on his Valveking on the input with low impedance, except it doesn't. it sounds like trash, once he goes to the high gain one it really screams.
metallica5252 4 months ago
@DopeDethrone: i dont see a prob selling gear, if its a good amp it might be worth buying and using . . .
trevinor3 4 months ago
i own this amp and i love it more and more every day. it makes it way better though if you're a hardcore Pantera fan.

Also, if I want to sound like Dime, I'll spend 200 bucks on ebay for an rg100 and an mxr eq.
diabeticmonkey 4 months ago
It sounds ok, even alright enough for me to MAYBE want one, but the stupidly huge dime name is just outrageous looking. Way to capitalize even more on the name of a dead man. Whatever happened to resting in peace?

Get a randall rg 100 dime used them pretty much through his whole carrier and they are pretty cheap
xXPlayer2 4 months ago
One thing people don't remember is Dime used Solid states in the beginning so its really his old tone if you think about it, still no one gave him the tone like Krank did and does
EMGmikey 4 months ago
@EMGmikey not just the beginning, he used solid states through almost his entire career
MrYungsan 4 months ago
@EMGmikey Dime recorded his entire body of work on Randall solid state amps of varying models, he only used Krank for a few weeks before his death and did not record with them. Damageplan's New Found Power was recorded using Randall Warhead solid state amps. Dimebag preferrd the tight punch of solid state over the warmth of tubes mainly because of the lag tubes tend to have when a chord is struck, don't believe me find the Dimebag Darrell @ Krank amps video on You Tube
9evilnine9 3 months ago
@9evilnine9 i'm not saying krank or randall is better, i like Randall and Krank, however i'm a tube amp guy so i like the "rainbow" spectrum you get with tubes, whichever company he used he did American, Metal, and shredders a huge favor in pushing the boundries
