It's sad that Whitney “hit me” Houston crapped out at 48, instead of 28, as she defrauded thousands of ticket-buying fans in recent years with her caterwauling. She humiliated herself to support a cocaine addiction. She suffered. She was in pain and she managed to convey that pain by hurting the ears of her fans.
The offal of a rotting culture espouses: Statism, corporatism, animal “rights” and the denouncement of: free-markets, private property ownership and an armed citizenry...The master counterfeiters of the corporate-owned "federal" reserve have constructed their buildings of stone to thwart free citizens from burning them to the ground. The crapped-out Linda McCartney makes Yoko Ono seem musically inept what with her profound tone deafness and all.
Interesting. Obviously Keith is playing around here with the vocals, lyrics, etc. but I do like the sound of this version better. Much funkier, Charlie sounds great and Nicky Hopkins sounds even better on this, especially at the end. Much less clutter, no backup singers here. I really like it.
In my idea, this vocals are actually a plain joke. Not 'cause they're not good or something, but more of a demo or something alike.
The final part saying "etcetera etcetera" is a pretty nice clue of the actual try of this. Maybe jagger wasn't around, or keef wanna just do some for a change.
Hate to be contrary to most of the comments here but Keith obviously realized he had half a track before Jagger added his lyrics and vocals. I love Keith to death but the original Soul Survivor is quiet close to being their greatest track ever and this alternate version is only half way to being there.
@chriskellyart This version is a lot of fun, but I agree with you. The lyrics are better on the original too. But I'm happy to hear these alternate tracks. Hope they keep letting them out.
The version with Mick Jagger singing is way better, since he's got a way better voice and much more polished style. Including the original lyrics are sick.
However, this version with Keith Richards is great too. Especially when he says "I just can't fuck it."
@NYCWOLVERINE Micks version is ok, i've listened to a lot, but this so far better because it sounds so bluesy, loose and Keith is just rocking the song!
@cherrybomb2600 yes!! you're right , its the most great song for the classical exile and this keith 's version is absolutly great!!!!with "torn and frayed"!!! clément the dreamer...

@chriskellyart Agree. This is a work in progress, more of a fan curiosity than anything else. The finished version is far superior.

Ear the two versions at the Same Time! It is difficult to accommodate the two batteries in the same time, try it;)

This how it SHOULD sound, not the commercialized slickness of the album one, great as it is-this is the real soul survivor aka Keith Richards...

Heroin.... what a helluva drug. Hard to believe Keith is still standing. And I doubt he was when he recorded that vocal.
