Saw their performance today....Not baIt was good, but Sonic has sooooooo much more great music to offer. Doing Project Chaos' version of Sky Sanctuary would top anything.

Not hating on the classics, but still, only Sonic 1 music? ALL sonic games have good music. They should've used it. He has sky sanctuary, hydrocity act 2, even solaris phase 2, and unleashed's final boss theme.

That's what it's based on, yes, but this version is over 3 minutes longer. They added a new intro, added the boss theme and extended each of the stage themes.

What I hope for is that they actually have a story. The first Sonic game had virtually no story. All that was said is Eggman was turning animals into robots and Sonic had to save them. No motive to Eggman's plan and no real motive for Sonic to save the day. Sonic 2 corrected the lack of plot though. The reason why people want all sonic games to be exact copies of the first title is beyond me.

The presenters actually encourage the audience to cheer whenever they see a video game they like - Video Games Live shows are all about interaction.

I agree. Notice how the idiots go crazy when Sonic Adventure and Sonic Heroes appear on the screen. You bet almost nobody in that audience ever played the classic Sonic games, they only recognize the recent 3D ones. That means they are clueless to the Sonic 1 medley the orchestra is playing. If it were any random song playing while the screen shows Sonic images it would have the same effect for those people. Can't expect any kind of reverence from them.

Came down to Glasgow to see this myself from Aberdeen. I can truely say that this was one of the greatest things I've ever been to and the Sonic segmant was fantastic. My lifetime in gaming was all brought back and I was choked up myself. All involved who put this performance together are fantastic and I thank every one of them for their hard work. Will definitely be back next year.
