  • Guys... a cuboctahedron and a rainbow cube are the same thing....one just has different cuts than the other. They are still both the same shape overall.

  • NOOOO THAT'S A RAINBOW CUBE

  • thats one of the easiest cubes out there to solve

  • Its funny how the two highest rated comments are the same thing

  • so thats how the clip on the back of a bra works...

  • Rubix cuboctahedron? nice.

  • but will it blend?

  • *Gasp!* It's the triforce and he's FUCKING WITH IT!

  • TRIFORCE!

  • kind of rubik's cube? Its nice, i want one xD

  • RUBIK'S CUBE! :DD oh wait.......

  • @heyzuz23 Heh. :-) This one is actually easier to solve than the Rubik's Cube, even though it looks more complicated. :-)

  • That's a tetrakadecaheron, not a cuboctahedron

  • @powerofthecube I've never heard the term "tetrakadecaheron" before? Perhaps you're right - but the base shape itself, the Archimedean solid, is called a "cuboactahedron". :-)

  • @WildStar2002 a tetrakaidecahedron has 14 sides. ( tetra-4 deca-10) That's a rainbow cube which has 14 sides. a cuboctahedron is a truncated cube.

  • @WildStar2002 Oh, I see - it's another name for the same thing, then. :-) I did a bit of research and this figure is also known as a Heptaparallelohedron, a Dymaxion, a Rectified Cube (or Rectified Octahedron), a Cantellated Tetrahedron, or a Triangular Gyrobicupola. I like the name cuboctahedron because it is midway through the truncation process (called rectification) between a cube and an octahedron and to help distinguish it from other 14-sided Archimedean solids, like the truncated cube.

  • @WildStar2002: my mind just got so royally fucked

  • thats a rainbow cube

  • @1000meganerd Yay! Rainbow cube! :-)

  • triforce

  • What is mean "triforce"? :-)

  • @WildStar2002 The triforce is an object in the game series of Zelda, Mostly splitted in 3 parts, Wich the player has to find, to banish the evil out of the land.

  • @nikko8P Aha, a banishment for evil! Schweeet!

  • good job! this puzzel is called "raimbow cube"

  • Thanks. :-) I actually have one of these - I made this before I knew how to solve it. >:-)

  • No thats a rainbow cube.

  • The puzzle is indeed called a Rainbow Cube, and the shape is called a cuboctahedron.

  • Yeah ok.

  • What program did you use?

  • I used 3D Studio Max 5.

  • Ok, thanks.

  • Isn't that a cuboctahedron (without "e")?

Or maybe cubeoctahedron is the name of that puzzle?

  • No, you're quite right. I misspelled the name. i'll try and correct it. :-) Thanks for pointing it out!

  • You're welcome!

I'm quiet interested by polytopes =D.

  • no, its a rainbow cube

  • Yeah, the puzzle is called a Rainbow Cube, but the shape is called a Cuboctahedron.

  • This is called a "Rainbow Cube." They are very cool and I plan on buying one someday.

  • yea, thats a rainbow cube. they are awesome.
