  • Perfect body.

  • I was in USF's SunDome covering the '83 Mr. America for the Tampa Tribune. This guy was awesome. If I remember correctly, he won the Universe in London the following week.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • Has there even been a more goregous face on a bodybuilder?

  • Its amazing the change from then to now. Steroids were just about coming on stream after Arnie admitted to using them in 1977. Now I don't think the current monsters we see these days have trained without them.

  • @steroidsR4morons But this guy looks NOTHING like the steroid-bloated monsters of this time frame. Back then, they looked much healthier than they do now. That's my point.

  • I was born in 1983! It was a very good year, obviously.

  • He is magnificent like an ancient Greek statue.

  • This kid had it all, I`m suprised he never went on to compete in the Mr Olympia

  • Damn guy had some wheels!!!!!!!!

  • NATURAL BODY ?

  • For the love of God--1983??? He is freeking beautiful!!!!

  • back when aesthetics still mattered.i miss these days. :(

  • cannibals would b happy

  • What seperates Jeff and the others from being champions is the other competitors don't look that confident and you can see it in there faces when they pose. Jeff earned that title 100% because he got up there and did his best and looked like he was enjoying himself.

  • reminds me of jim carey

  • Jeff King had that massive neck.

  • Is this who they modeled the Ken doll after?

  • that fourth guy to the far right does'nt stand a chance lol

  • @15551cue

That's the original Wolverine statue from Marvel Comics. He may be short in the height department but he makes up for it in sheer will and determination. He will not be denied.

"And what do the call you? Wheels?"

  • Pre growth hormones. Its the GH that make your stomach distended.Whilst bodybuilders used steroids then too, The results here are certainly more aesthetic than the look today's bodybuilders have.

  • @philster61 Totally agree. It doesn't matter how big todays guys are, their guts grow more than their muscles and therefore they end up looking worse. No-one looks as hard and "clean" as these guys from the 80's, even though "ripped glutes" were never heard of then. It's a shame we can't turn the clock back.

  • looks like eddie robinson

  • I keep coming back to these videos as he incomparable then and now. What a fusion of mass and definition!Just great!

  • @littlefuzzer

    LOL!!!!

  • I love to see him in a boxing ring againt a much smaller but skilled guy!!

Imagine crazy muscle and strong dominated by skinny ....

  • @Barcelone2 Hell...wrestling would be even better..he look's like a natural for the mat.

  • He's got some tree-trunk legs and a hugely thick neck, wow!

  • Best Mr. America winner ever, complete package

  • Great ! I love him

  • SEXY!

  • I used to work out at Big Daddy's in Springfield,MA when Jeff was in his prime. He was an awesome guy and if you needed help with something he would say, give me a minute and I'll be right there. Just an all out wonderful guy.

  • The guy with the orange trunks has better looking abs.

  • this was Art they have ruined in these days ....

  • Sexy Body on Jeff King :D I Love his Arms too.

  • Oh, BTW, Arnold Schwarzeneggar was another NABBA Mr Universe winner who was allowed to compete in the IFBB w/o having to requalify thru lesser shows. So tell us all Joe Weider, why the double standard for NABBA Universe winner Jeff King ?

  • @nenzi671 Everybody knows Weider Bros. controlled the IFBB in a less than straightforward manner.

I guess Jeff King was not willing to "play" some part of Weider's game.

I too wonder exactly WHAT the reason was.

Jeff King had the look that would sell a lot more product than most "Weider Champions" I can think of.

I guess we will never know but IF Jeff were allowed to compete back then I am sure he would have done well and been a fan favourite.

  • @vargyna The Weider Brothers weren't as good for bodybuilding as they'd like us to believe.

  • It strikes me oddly that several AAU/ NABBA athletes were allowed to compete in the IFBB without having to requalify into the IFBB. Tony Pearson, John Brown, Bertil Fox, Eduardo Kawak all were allowed to compete in the IFBB. For whatever reason, Weider told Jeff he would have to requalify into IFBB by entering lesser qualifer shows when that standard was not given to the others. Jeff would have done extremely well against the IFBB's best in the 80's.

  • Fuckin Super Man Here

  • In Soviet Russia, muscles build you.

  • Jeff competed in the AAU & NABBA which are not affiliated with the IFBB. Weider never recognized them. Weider told Jeff he would have to requalify into the IFBB by first winning a national qualifier, then a national show to qualify for the "O". Jeff never did that so his career ended. Jeff said in a later interview Weider flew him out to Cal. for a photoshoot but the pics were never published bc Weider can't sanction an unafilliated BBer.

  • What's the name of the short hottie? I've seen his face before but have no idea what his name is.

  • @jeffeastwood15 Larry Bernstein

  • Nowdays bodybuilders looks like freaks.

  • Jeff King guest posed at a local contest just after he won the Mr. Universe. Awesome physique. I still have his autographed pictures hanging up in my home gym.

  • met the guy on his australa tour great bloke

  • they look healthy also

  • How tall is Jeff King?

  • @ssj55 5'10 and 1/2 or 179 CM.

  • @leeason1 Okay thanks

  • At 1:33 or so it looks like he's having trouble remembering his routine. He was the best here though. To bad there was some sort of political problems between he and the the IFBB that prevented him from really making his mark in pro bodybuilding. Instead we were subjected to Lee Haney's boring 8 year reign.

  • I dont kno y you would want to be this strong

  • @TheZmoke713 u mean big?

  • jeff have beatiful face in the world

  • The best ...bodybuilder and smile in the sport...truly a"super" man!

  • He did a seminar at my gym in Mass and was great.

  • hey man i love this guy TRULY ONE OF THE MOST SYYMETRICAL , AND HUGE BODYBUILDERS

  • he is known for having the biggest neck in the world lol

  • Beautiful. I love when he exhales at 2:01 and it flips his hair. They were all pretty fantastic.

  • Rick Poston has the best conditioning onstage. Real sharp. Jeff won bc of his legs.

  • one of the best bodybuilders of all time. too bad for the political mess. King probably could been a Mr.Olympia.

  • clear winner

  • Awesome physiques on all these competitors, Too bad the Posing suits of today weren't in fashion in the 80's. They would have showed off their glutes and upper thighs. These videos are still great. Thanks.

  • Where is King today?

  • @aamusc Married w children, a physical therapist in Massachusetts. Last show was in 1988 where he placed 6th at the Pro Universe. Retired from BB because of a political feud with the IFBB/NPC & NABBA. His titles were not recongnized by IFBB. He was told he would have to qualify himself into the IFBB by winning a national NPC title.

  • King was one of the uncrowned best back in the day as well as Mat Mendenhall.. King ya looked great

  • gees!!! talk about a cliche all american boy next door face!!!!! very handsome!

  • Don't let my appearance frighten you :) the song is called Journey - Open Arms

  • I met Jeff King the year he won Mr. A. He posed at a local contest. I still have his autographed pic in my home gym.

  • Jeff stayed with me whilst competing in the UK. He is a true gentleman and very intelligent too. Probably one of the best bodybuilders of his generation.

  • good looking, great smile, fabulous body all-round and I bet he's a great shag

  • monster neck

  • @freshboat01 lol it wasnt that big just long like a giraffe

  • the little guy should have won!

  • the best neck in bodybuilding history , and the rest ain't bad either

  • heheh old fat neck , he was awsome , looked his best at the '87 universe I reckon.

  • and hes a nice guy, i just had physical therapy with him

  • Rick Valente may dispute that.

  • He's flawless...so rare for me to say.

  • from the 50's to 80's..that was when body building was at it's best.

now it's all about roid dealing.

    and all that bull shit.

no respect in the body building world these days.

  • they look way better at that time pure muscle and dense as fuck, now they just look shit and not just bloated everything looks bloated

  • I went to college with Jeff. He's a great guy.

  • powerful looking physique and huge neck

  • I met Jeff King when he guest posed at a local contest. He was awesome. Very nice guy.

  • Back when bodybuilders actually looked good. Look at that tight midsection!

  • @sdarms111 they looked normal..now there all assholes..and just after the best Drugs.there's no more heart and honor in bodybuilding..

  • holy shit his lats are huge

  • I hope Jeff knows how many fans he has.Thx for putting this video up.

  • one of my all time favourite bodybuilders.

last time I saw was on video in the 87 nabba universe.

  • what a condition,he still compite?

  • I know this is an old vid, I remember when he was all over the mags in the uk and he also got o tv. Thought he was awsome then and still do

  • His neck was huge.

  • always one of my favourites!

  • JEFF KING was incredible and a real nice guy too. He retired way too soon and got involved with the AAU-WABBA so his career went nowhere. Lasy I heard he is working as physical therapist in Massachusets. Great legs. By his own admission he needed a better back and may have been unbeatable.

  • King was really good, though he has gyno here.

I always thought his upper body was slightly too long.

  • jeff king ; you are the best ; in the world ;every world ;when i see you in paris ; i think who is this man !!!! fantastic ;extraordinaire ;tu est le meilleur définitivement ! all the world !

  • Jeff King tried coming into the IFBB after becoming AAU Mr America and NABBA Mr Universe. Joe Weider would not accept Jeff unless he basically re-qualified through competing in regional contests to then be able to compete in the NPC National's in the mid-80's. The very idea of sending Jeff to this level was starkly political and obstructive. King would be put against a 'trophy-hunting' exercise.

FACT: Joe Weider had no control over the NPC and the caliber in the AAU was far below the NPC.

  • I agree w you 100%. That is exactly what happened to Jeff. So much potential lost due to BB politics. Back then he would have gone up against Bob Paris, Lee haney & those boys had he gone NPC/ IFBB (which had better athletes anyway) Weider held him back so his career went nowhere after that. Jeff was a great guy & a big inspiration to me back then. NJ native. A physical therapist in Mass. now.

  • word. gears of war 2

  • Met Jeff in Brunel Gym,Swindon,UK.His leg training book was freaky, and i still have it.A true gentleman,no ego,and a shame to not see him on the Olympia stage. All the best to you Jeff from Paul.

  • An exceptional bodybuilder. Easily one of America's finest physiques of all time. And when you see him here and think to compare him to Lee Haney---how could he not of been a far more brilliant Mr Olympia?? Weider if he could of accepted Jeff's excellence would of got all the richer instead of banishing him as he did. Jeff King was what 1980's AAU pure bodybuilding was all about!! Awe inspiring thank-you for posting this video!!

  • What do you mean about Weider banishing him? I've often wondered what happened to Jeff. Can you, or anyone shed some light on this?

  • jeffrey king ; you are the best !more video

  • thank you (jeff king is also my name)

  • So sexy

  • one of the best necks ever in the business

  • one of my all-time favorite bodybuilders!!!

    thanks for posting this!

  • Beefy, Todd is my husband....Todd is still in NJ, doing well. Jeff lives in Mass with his wife and three kids....doing well also. Theyre originally from Point Pleasant Beach.

  • Pose down between Marty Vranicar, Jeff King, Jessie Gautreaux and someone I don't know

  • The short class winner was Larry Bernstein.

  • Jeff is from NJ originally. He is one of my bodybuilding hero's.I found lots of inspiration from him & followed his career. I met him backstage when he won the Teen NJ in'79. Weider blacklisted him because Jeff would not renounce his AAU America title.(A long feud between IFBB & AAU back then)Thru the 80's he placed lower in pro shows then he hung up his trunks. Jeff was a great pro and would have been a great spokesman for the sport.

  • thanks for uploading - always keen to hear what b/builders from back in the eighties are doing now

  • This is what bodbuilders' are supposed to look like.

  • Agree completely!

  • This is too funny. Jeff is my brother in law...im married to his brother. Too funny to watch....

  • Todd King, a brother of Jeff, used to bodybuild as well.

  • ask him what he was taking for this show! e-mail me if you can!

  • Met Jeff around 86 in the uk.

I asked him what stack he used.

He was good enough to answer, after a fashion............................He talked about Anavar, Dianabol & Sustanon. He did say he didn't take huge amounts.

    He was a nice guy.

  • He still is an extremey nice guy, and an awesome physical therapist.

  • I saw him in a restaurant in the Cincinati area in a tank top, ever waitress in the restaruant was openly drooling. Who says women don't like huge muscles

  • Jeff King is, like John Cenna, a grad of Springfield College. He won the Mr. Universe in London (NABBA). Presently, he is a physical therapist in Massachusetts. Married with children.

  • Awesome.. Thanks !!

  • @musclemusicbox he looks like natural
