  • Bah Bah

  • damesh garm manam migam ;)

  • Thhis is the saddest song EVER!

I knew it was a lot deeper than smoochy-kissy crap!

Seems like the song was a Tudeh anthem, and was written by Khosro Roozbeh, a night or so, before he was executed. He wrote it for his daughter and asked his friend (Hassan-e Golnaraghi?), to sing it for her.

Holly shit, I had no idea!

I will definitely do more research.

  • Hey, hey - take it easy!

No one denied the obvious beauty of the melody, nor the rich and deep lyrics.

But you are right - it still is a beautiful song.

    Khoda negahdar.

  • one of the best =)

  • Bah.. ! Besyaaaar Hali !

As an Afghan and neighbour of Iran, I pray to god that just like in our country also in Iran the old times come back. They mullah's leave and give the educated people a chance to revive the past glorious times.

If.... the mullah's didn't ruin Iran, it would have been as modern and developped as Germany by now.

    AWM

  • This is truely a masterpiece and one of the best songs of all times!

  • Damesh Garm

  • I love this song so much. So, so sad.

No offence to Vigen, but I like Golnaraghi's version the best. I love his voice, but I think he sings it too quickly.

  • Of course Golnaraghi sings this song the best and of course viguen sounds great, his songs will last forever.

  • tears in my eyes! thx 4 posting! <3

  • this song was the anthem of the Tudeh party

  • The lyrics of this sound was written by a Tudeh officer in perison for her daghter one night before execution. As a last request before his execution, he asked to pass this lyrics to Mr. Golnerghi to put a music on it. Gholnraghi was a 1st person who sing this song in 50's.

  • that is what i thought for avery long time too. but i have heard from several people that this was actioally only a propaganda and that this story was not true. now i have no clue about the origin of the song but what i cn tell that it catches me everytime i listen to it and brings me back to the old times where i was 7 years old or so

  • :X:X:X Roohet Shad :X:X:X

  • unlucky??

  • ki gofte harki farsi harf nazane afghanie????? che rabti dare???

  • Great singer. I have many memories of his performamnces & music, too many to mention. Does anyone have the Lalaee?

  • he was a simple iranian who done more than others ...good songs, nice, and capable unifiying people around a message of love ...

  • I think he was a playboy

  • I don't understad! If you don't know for sure why do you comment?

Vigen was the most famous and popular Iranian pop singer since 50's. With over 700 songs he has recorded with almost all other singers. He was also a family man unlike what you "think" and passed away recently.

  • At 2:47 could somebody tell me who are there in the pic?

    Very lovely song...superb. Beautiful people.

  • they are persian singers and vigen with his daughters, jakleen and eileen.

  • I love Vigen's version ,he deos it briliantly ,not to forget Cheshmazar and his contribution in this classic .

  • This Is One Of The best Songs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ajab ahangi

  • roohet shad.great and a patriot man.

  • Can't believe it. This song was very special to my parents (in Tajikistan). THANKS sooooooooooo much.

By the way who does the lyrics belong to?

    Tajikdukht

  • lyrics and music is from Gol Naraghi ( an old persian song writer )

  • Yes, this is one of the greatest of all songs, brings back memories for many. Golnaraghi was the original singer, but did not write the lyrics (go to Ayene, go to # 2 in the Archives, for his version). For many years, the common understanding in Iran was that the poem was written by "Sarhang Mobasher" a member of the Tudeh, Communist party to his daughter the night before being executed.

  • After the 1953 Coup, many Tudeh members were executed, and the collective psyche attributed the song to this cultural shock --as redemption. And also that may explain why the song was also popular in Tajikestan. Lahouti a Tudeh poet had moved there many years before.

  • Golnaraghi's brother was active politically in 1950 in the nationalist circles. However, the author of the song was a nationalist poet by the name of Reghabi, who went by the pen name of "Haaleh".

  • Roohesh shad, khodah biyamorzeh. Great song. Always makes me so sad.

  • Ruhash shaad... He was a patriot and his memory will be with us forever.

  • The explonation by our fellow here is only one of the theories regarding the origin of this poem, plus punishment of treachery and dictatorship are two separate things ;)

  • great song ! thanks a lot ,does anyone have dele divaaneh ?

  • kiss for the last time...in case you don't know the story of this song, it is a longer poem written by an iranian army officer for his daughter from the prison. he was sentenced to death and later on executed by the shah's regime because of his involvement with the hezb'e toodeh, one of the communist/socialist underground political groups under pahlavi's dictatorship. they supposedly had ties to the USSR at the time) that were persecuted by the ruling party back by uncle sam.

  • Thanks For That Explanation ..

  • Well I was told the name of the Army officer was Colonel or ( Sarhang ) Siamak.

We can blame everyone else for what happen in the past or what is happening now. At the end it is our shortcoming that leads to others do what they want to do.

  • @farshidk So the Dad wrote the song or Vigen wrote it? Thats really sad....

  • Comment removed

  • beautifull song

  • I thank you for posting this great song. Please share with us more great songs like this. Yadeh Vigen Shad.
