Mexico is part of North America. All Natives of the American continent are American Indians. The name of our country is the United States, not America. Obviously, not all American Indians are citizens of the United States. That does not mean they are not Native American or idigenous to the Americas. All people who where inigenous to the American continent were here before the current countries were even named.
This is simply what I know from my Research on my own Family, but the Host of this Video, he is (likely), my Dad's Distant Cousin (by what Generation, I don't know for certainty).
But it warms my heart to know there is another Cousin Loved One out there.
Sending him and his Family Warmest Love and Blessings for the Holidays and Coming New Year.
@MuhammadsStillASissy first of all your name .. Lmfao but yeah alot of north American natives died it was the plains natives the fought alot of the wars and signed treaty's ect sitting bull and all them dudes but it would be hard to bring forth evidence to show that you are really related to some tribe like the manhattans or the Dakota the Aztecs where in south america so they cannot verify your heritage
I'm native but from Canada,so this wouldn't apply to us up here. Even my 2 uncles and aunt who moved to the U.S. needed to get their cards from Canada
@canadianmuslimnproud Exactly. And do you tell people you are Native American or Canadian Native? Some (who probably are NOT ethnic natives) can not understand .
@canadianmuslimnproud Actually I represent myself as "First Nations" as do most other aboriginal people from Canada do. And just do your research into your family tree as best as you can. Not all registered themselves with the Gov't and some hid their nationality to protect themselves and their children from racism. So it's often a hard task proving who you are sometimes, but don't let people discourage you.
While people like to say America is all of the continent, in this case it is only the U.S. There have always been borders, seperate nations.Ethnic "Indians" are not all the same.We fought wars for land and borders. To say First Nations knew no borders is incorrect and stupid. It might sound "new age" or non racist or whatever but it is wrong.I don't care where you are from or what "you" think Native American means to you but to the B.I.A. it means only Indigenous Natives of the U.S.of A.
CDIB is issued by the Federal Government of the United States of America for indigenous Natives of the United States of America. If you are from Mexico or any other country other than the U.S.A., then go to your own governments. If the U.S. government delt with buisness of other countries their nationals would bitch. Why should the U.S. B.I.A. deal with buisness of other countries? They can't and shouldn't.You don't like it, go to your own embasy or gov. rep. We U.S. natives have enough problems.
not all people from mexico are aztec and most mayans are further down lik to guetemala i am half kickapoo from moms side and their consider native americans in the u.s ok and my friend is also yaqui which is also native american .... aztec are indians but not native americans in the u.s but not everyone from mexico are aztec native amricans tribes cross over to mexico to
yes I know that Mexico borders the United States, and that Mexico and Texas were once a part of the same country. And I do know that Mexico is NOT a race... I am not an idiot.. I live in Texas. So I know that Mexico is a country into itself. So, CHSN09, you don't have to get your panties in an uproar if I state that the Aztec Mayan Indians were based out of Mexico. Thank you
The Aztec Mayan Indians aren't Native American Indians. The Aztec Mayan Indians were in Mexico, and I don't think they migrated into North America, so wouldn't be considered "Native American" per say. So even though you are from Indian ancestry due to the Aztec Mayans, they wouldn't be considered from North America. They are still from Mexico. You technically aren't being discriminated upon. You could go to the Mexican government and seek out how to receive your tribal mem. from there.
@tracicarle Aztecs and Mayans are Native American groups. Keep in mind that many parts of Mexico and USA were once part of each other. Borders are political barriers.
@tracicarle 1) Mexico is is part of North America. 2) The term "Native Americans" includes all indigenous peoples of the continent, not st those of the U.S.
@MuhammadsStillASissy: Right Fed. Law covers only U.S. And not all I believe. However the term Native Americans is an umbrella term to identify the indigenous people/descendants of the continent of America. Canada, United States, Mexico etc..etc..
@MRXYZ1ER This is not the proper vinue for that arguement. This vid is about CDIB card. That is issued by the United States. So in this instence, Native American covers only Natives of the United States of America. If Mexican "Indians" Pruvian "indians" or whoever wants to be recognised then they need to go to their country of origin. It is not for The U.S. B.I.A. to register them.Further, to Ethnic First Nations people, Native American means them.Native nations are seperate & autonomous.
@MRXYZ1ER No, the countries in the either of the continents of the Americas (N.American, Central American, N.American) are the "Americas".; NOT America which is one seperate and individual country. If one says he is an American, he does not mean people to believe he is from Peru or elsewhere on the continent. That is ludricrus. In the same manner, if one says "I am a Mexican", he is not claiming to be or expecting to be viewed as an American.Clearly you can see the difference.CDIB is for Americans
@MRXYZ1ER If you want the proper term for indigenous natives of the American Continents it would be Natives of the" Americas", not Native Americans (natives of America...not any other country. America only.)You think there are no Native Mexicans or ind. Native ARGENTINIANS ? Do you think they consdider themselves Native Americans? Get real.It is not the same. Our countrys of origin are seperate as are our nations, bands, & customs. We hold them close to our hearts. We do not care to mix them.
@MuhammadsStillASissy: Right Fed. Law covers only U.S. However the term Native Americans is an umbrella term to identify the indigenous people/descendants of the continent of America. Canada, United States, Mexico etc..etc..
Wow you think that ALL white people have beautiful hair? I know white people that have "ugly" hair if you will. Same with blacks. I know "blacks" that don't have beautiful complexions.
All of the generalizations made for each "grouping" of people could have been applied to ALL of each group within each of their own.
@chsn09 well im just stating what i have expierenced..giving credit to all racial backrounds..YES they all could share each one of these contributes to all of the races.
@ramiirez LOL. Since when does being African automatically mean "black? Being indigenous African does NOT automatically mean white lol. Africa is the MOST diverse intrapopulationally.
Also white people are NOT just confined to Europe. Since when is Europe automatically mean white?
THERE IS NO NEED TO DISCRIMINATE ABOUT THE OTHER RACE! WE ARE ALL CONNECTED..no not from africa, no not from eaurope, not from asia, not south america! we r connected through god and we shall not call each other these horrible names.
IM MIXED WITH NATIVE AMERICAN, BLACK, WHITE, HISPANIC! i can say what i want!
@TheSingingAuditions The people from Spain are European white. I mean people in Spain can be found in every race. Saying Hispanic/Latino is a race is like saying American, Jamaican, Australian are RACES. You see>?
There are blacks living in ALL Spanish speaking countries, whites, Asians and Native Americans living in Spanish speaking countries
@TheSingingAuditions LMAO. All South American are called Hispanics? Really? Do you mean anything south of the USA border when you say South America or are you referring to the continent with anything that includes the Republics of Panama and Trinidad and Tobago and anything south of these two respective republics?
@chsn09 LMAO. All South American are called Hispanics? Really? Do you mean anything south of the USA border when you say South America or are you referring to the continent with anything that includes the Republics of Panama and Trinidad and Tobago and anything south of these two respective republics?
@TheSingingAuditions Guyana is an English speaking country located in South America. Brazil is a Portuguese speaking country located in South America. French Guiana which is still owned by and an integral part of France is French speaking. Suriname is a Dutch speaking South American nation. I don't recall these groups being considered as Hispanic lol
@chsn09 like you said..im not gonna call each memeber of a certain racial group out like that...when i say asian..you dont have a problem with that!?!?/ some asian countries speak english there..when i say africa...u dont have a problem with that?!?! some countries speak french and english...eaurope...french, spanish..english??? wats the difference for south america?? they are CALLED hispanic..yes some may have come from african decent but they would like to be called hispanic.
@TheSingingAuditions LOL> You are missing the point. Hispanic is NOT a race. Africa is a continent.
And NOT All Hispanics come from South America. There is Central America/North America/Caribbean as well.
Yep that is fine though if they are called Hispanic. All I am trying to say is that Hispanic is not a race. My point also is that there are French, English, Dutch, and Portuguese speaking nations in South America. Not all speak Spanish.
@TheSingingAuditions And what do you mean Spanish culture? I guess if coming from a nation where Spanish is the official langauge is Spanish then that makes USA ENGLISH CULTURE AND BRITISH CULTURE =-)
@chsn09 im talking about people who live in spanish speaking countris such as latin america and south america(excluding brazil and a few others) im part colombian....i rather call people who share the hispanic clture..HISPANICS rather then wat ignorant people call them which would be MEXICANS! you have to be part of the culture...its hard to explain really..but for me...i will call anyone who speaks spanish/from a spanish country/ lives that culture/// hispanic:/
@TheSingingAuditions LMAO. No one ever said they were Mexicans and who ever says that they are ALL Mexicans is extremely ignorant.
My point is that Hisapnic is NOT a race. A person can be from a Spanish speaking country that is black and or white etc.
But there are some people from Spanish speaking countries that think the term Hispanic can rob them of their cutlures. Spanish language is the main commonality
@TheSingingAuditions I have to disagree. I'm Mexican but The slave terms Hispanic and Latino sicken me. I am Indigenous, I am Nican Tlaca, I am Ixachilankatl.
a lot of people claim "blood" and a tribal affiliation that is FALSE. Plain and simple. They throw out the standard family myth of Indian blood and claim this as an identity (it also doesn't help that they guesstimate erroneous blood quantum levels). To be a Native American is to be affiliated with a tribal community...to have a connection to a TRIBE....it isn't about claiming that granny told you your family has some "Indian blood" somewhere down the line.
@chassi1ariel i know your not excluding mexicans because there still facing discrimination because of the native american side there ancestors are the aztec mayas the greatest native american indians by a long shot.
@1980vince - It's sometimes funny to me how "brave" ppl are behind a keyboard when ur not face to face with the person u feel u are insulting. First, my face is not Black it is Brown, LoL, u should be a comedian. Second, race is a later day ficticious term to tric indigenous ppl into thinking they are different frm one another on a genetic level when that is factually not tru. If u are truly of the Mayan ppL then ur DNA, when tested, will come back as African, and thats a fact.
@1980vince - U also made another interesting comment "the olmec are the maya." Exactly, u get it, b.u.t. u don't get it. Before u were tricced into thinking u were a "race", which is a competition" of ppL, we identified ourselves by land and tribe, b.u.t. we overstood the concept of one indigenous ppL of Mother Earth, wether we all got along or not, we understood this basic concept. In the late 1800'z, at least, u didn't have a race. There wuz no such thing as a hispanic, latino, spanish etc.
@thaGodLoKi7 look we are not connected to fucken niggers. native americans had black slaves. no connection the olmec statues look native american because that's what they are.there are people in mexico that look like the statues they have straight hair same facial features. you are carriers of sickness the european killed of natives with sickness imagine what you baboon people what have distroyed.get over it black face.
@1980vince Your a dumb ass. Every one came from Africa so i think you must be a nigger to. Your a stupid bastard. I really hate racists with a passion. I will be glad when the devil takes your worth less Soul! I am Native American / Black American and i am proud of my people.
@1980vince - Get ur facts together b4 u step to an intellectual. If u are of the Mayan ppL, know this, i don't want to be affiliated with the likes of u, cuz u are a bad representative of ur ppL, b.u.t. i know that we are all one ppL. Jes' like u said the Olmecs, my ancestors, and the Mayans are family. There is no such thing as "race", and if i need to go bac to the Motherland, then u need to go bac to the Motherland as weLL, cuz ALL OF THE ANCIENT MAYANS have AFRICAN blood in them
@1980vince - and don't get this mis-construed when i said ur DNA will come bac as African, i am referring to ur most Ancient Bloodline. Ur ancestors are rolling in their graves cuz of ur ignorance and dis-respect toward ur own Bloodline. U let the caucasians tricc u into thinking u were different cuz u invested in some fake and phony ass shyt like "race".
AND ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTING - the White "race" reads like this: White. A person having origins in any of the original peoples of Europe, North Africa, or the Middle East. -
@1980vince I would not be so narssisistic (pardon the spelling) to your tribe (in this case, civilization). They did sacrifice people, while most northern tribes did not. No ancestor is the best, there are only good ones and bad ones. But I am sure your ancestors are flattered by your compliment.
@1980vince - Yea, like mexicans have anything to do with this video, typical Anti-Native American comment by an american that is in denial of the people that had their land stolen, people that survived a genocide and to be "judged" by you makes me sick...but as far as white people go the ones who stayed in Europe were they belonged were by far the best whites...
@aztec714ok and you are a total IDIOT. It is a username, stupid! What Arab muzzy would call muhammad (piss be upon him) a SISSY? I am a Federaly registered member of the Eastern Band of the Great Cherokee Nation. YOU keep out of this. This is an American issue. America is the United States of America. Is an American flag the flag of every country in the AMERICAS?Mexico, Peru, ect are seperate I point out "Americas" because THAT covers countries in the Continent. The Americas, not America. Simple.
@aztec714ok There you go again, talking about something you know NOTHING about. "don't answer back"????Fat Chance you idiot. If you are afraid to hear the truth, you try not replying. "wannabe"??? What is your Nation? Aztec? HaHaHAHA!!!! America is the COUNTRY. The Americas are the continents.Simple, like your mind.
@aztec714ok Look, you started this name calling stuff as do many when they have no answer & are caught in a mistake or outright lie. I am a registered member of a recognised Native American nation.I have a CDIB card issued by the BIA of & for the United States Government. Show me an ID issued by any government of any country or indigenous nation or band that shows you or any ethnic indigenous native of anywhere is Native American other than those issued by the U.S.A. for American "Natives"
@aztec714ok You still talking about things you know nothing about? Keep it up, we all knew you for a phoney and an idiot the first time you posted. You are not helping your credibility now either. Post something that proves your point (not the one on your "aztec" pin head) or Voetsek!! you are not a winner-please try again
@1980vince Not all Mexicans are desendants of Aztecs and Mayans. Their were other Native American tribes in Mexico, plus alot of Mexicans don't have any Indian blood. Aztecs and Mayans were the greatest Indians? Says Hollywood...
@aztec714ok THEY'RE (not there) not the same. You really know nothing about the history of the people you claim to be a part of.Even if they did live in the same area at the same time (which they did not) it would not make them the same.Aztecs & Mayans the same?HaHaHa Many people of different races, cultures,& countries live in NewYork but that does not make them the same. That is a a stupid statement and a moot point as to CDIB. Keep running your mouth, you display your ignorance & prove my point
@aztec714ok Even if that were true (which I doubt) exactly what would that have to do with a CDIB card issued by the United States of America for American ethnic indigenous natives? Both those bands are Mexican or from further south.Go prove it to the government of the country where those nations lived, if you can. I know nothing of your family & don't care. This is about America, the country, Native Americans as covered by U.S. law, & CDIB cards.Don't you get it yet or are you that just simple?
@aztec714ok If that is so, give refference. Qualify your statement. WHO "proved it"? Not even all Native Nations in N.America have the same DNA. Like all many big mouths who know fuck all, when you get caught in a screw up you resort to name calling. Again I say: Aztec& Mayan???HaHaHaHa!!!!!!! You are just a Mexican with probably as much European and African as you have Native and can prove NONE of it. This (CDIB card issue) is for the quantifiable people of recognised Native American Nations
uh? who cares if my ancestors were Cherokee, Scottish, Irish and whatever else is in the mix? The Native Americans are people, not gods. nice footage in the video though
my great grandmother was full blooded cherokee. Does that mean I have cherokee in me? If anyone can tell me please let me know. I hope I do. @ jjaayypp@hotmail.com
The Black Americans, Native Indians, Mexcians and the Islanders are the true Hebrews of Israel and we all the same people. If you read your 1611 Holy Bible which is the true Bible you'll find you history there and see that you are YAH "GOD, ALLAH" chosen people. I believe in my heart the white man are ashamed what their ancestors had done to our people and now they want to claim to be apart of the ones they hated. If you are European decent you are Satan Seed GOD talk about in Revelation 2:9
I notice the DARK FACES in the video, then they turn light because the mixture with whites like always and Natives dont have hazel eyes nor bloned hair. But they want to say Black people can't be Native all because they are Black. That's like the Israeli steal the Palestine land and saying this is not your land. I wonder do whites think Black people really wanted to be here back in those days. Today there are many wish they never was brought to this evil land.
@MsCuriousCat i am 1/8 native american and 7/8 european. i have light skin, hazel eyes, and brown hair, but i have native american facial features. i dont understand why you have such a strong dislike of mixed native americans. also, dont you think its a little extreme to say that every european is a seed of satan? i know that the europeans have done many horrific things, but its unfair to blame those that have no control over their ancestors behavior
im mad native yo i go to longhouse live on the rez eat fry bread and watch my family get drunk and fight about bull shit thats why i dont drink im 100% oneida and wont forget it
Hi..I know I am Cherokee and I would like to find my way back to the people that my heart belongs to. I have no idea where to start my serch to prove that I am a vary lucky person to be of the Cherokee Nation. Can you give me some advice. I know my family goes back to the trail of tears. email autumrain56@hotmail.com
A lot of hateful comments on mixbloods. No traditional native will dislike another color of people. We pray to the four directions and all of its people and animal nations, and we know we are all related and taught this at a young age. The natives here saying bad things are not natives because they are walking in a good way.
Besides, why do you think american has some of the sexiest people? We got it from our native blood. ;)
Another reason there are so many Natives now is because encouranging people to fill out the census. You have to realize that in the early 1900 Anglo Saxon people adopted people of other races and census people didn't keep very good records to say the least. Look now at some of the stats on certain races and ethnic groups and the stats will make you scratch your head.
Race is a very ambiguous thing! From the very beginning of time there has been racial mixing! Today, in America, nobody can truthfully say that they are full-blooded anything! People hold up American Indians as some sort of magical, mystical people! They are,WE ARE, REAL PEOPLE! Yes, American Indians did mix with other races! Black and White! So? what's the big deal? Today, Indians even mix with Filipinos and with Latinos! What's wrong with that? and why do Indians accept whites but not blacks?
Hmmm..... You know I was told my great grand mother was Cherokee. .. . she could have just been white & black . . . IDK .. . and on my dads side I heard they were Algonquin. Now, I've been seeing a lot of youtube comments say "AHA black people just don't have/like their culture thats why they claim N.A" well my uncle did our genealogy and i've never laid eyes on it ... but i am going to go find out if im one of the 5% of black people who actually has N.A ancestry ... if not i'll live haha
Is it possible that some people make things up? Like how many people have told me that their 'great great grandmother was part cherokee'? If millions of Native Americans were killed, then how could so many become mixed into the white population? That would only leave a few hundred thousand real Natives.
@TheNightWolfie Hey, I can answer that question. It's because like in other things when it's difficult people lie. There are plenty of people with Native heritage that denied it way back when because it was convenient, safer, etc. There is also a large Mexican poulation that looks supspiciously Native.
@TheMidnightBell07 My grandfather denied his Cherokee heritage. His mother was denied access to diners and all such. His grandfather was a tribal leader. You can look at my mom's generation in our family and see the native american.
@BigMommanTX Hey, that's sad and I'm sorry it happened to your family. I'm gonna take a DNA test one day, hopefully. I a;ways heard that my family was part First Nation ever since I was a kid. I once mentioned Apache but my grandma was quick to squash that one. She said that we had Sioux, I think Creek, and she said maybe Cherokee. (She wasn't too keen on them.) I don't mean to be insulting but the Cherokee don't sound very friendly. Take the DNA test if you can.
@TheNightWolfie hello, I know that I am German Russian and Sioux with a lot of other little things mixed in. Isn't it better though for native peoples descendants to mix with whites and have light skin than to have died out? I do have lighter skin, but have a native face and I am proud of that, I don't hide it. Culture was lost in my family but I've always had a fascination with nature and have been trying to recover that piece of lost cultue
I found my 4th Great Grandfather listed in "The History of the Cherokee Indians" by Emmett Star from 1922 under the Downing Family. James Crittenden who married Abigail Tyner in 1802 in Georgia. James' mother was Nannie Fawling Downing. Abigail's mother was Sookie Daugherty. My 5th Great Grandmothers. Happy Native American Day.
Anyone in the state of Texas knows the Dawes is Not the Only way. Cherokee of Mexico still has records of Cherokees from 1700-1825 who were granted land in Texas, yet the U.S. governemt will not let any Cherokees get recognition whom were born or as refugee Cherokees of Texas. At least Cherokee of Mexico has a World Protection Cultural Status, uniquely the ONLY indigenous people in the entire world to have it.
My grandfather which is of Cherokee Indian decent ,had a black mistress I was told by someone who told them. I can't get anymore info other than there might have been 3 children born from this relationship.I don't know how to find out where my relatives are. If my family knows about this ,they are not talking.
rockboy7789, i'm in the same boat my grandma is a black native american, and my grandpa is of native american heritage also from North Carolina. when i was little.. i remember how my mom would hang up the beautiful indian corn decorations in the house, i guess in rememberance of her being native american. i'm so lost, and i can actually feel there is a real spirit pushing me to figure things out but, don't know where to start any answers? getting info from them is like a bad thing dont know why.
Too bad you didn't read "Cherokee Tragedy" , printed by Oklahoma Press. A little more history, would maybe shed some light on the two sides that fought the White takeover of Georgia. (Ross-Waite). It wasn't such a clear cut proposition. All the sides of the Cherokees and Creeks were manipulated to their degredation. Instead of blaming Ross, blame Jackson.
very untrue he sold no people to anyone-- also although he was not full Cherokee his wife (my grandmother was) the endless talk of who knows what-- "do your full History research (FULL) before making statements.
I was not questioning Ross's or his Wife's and Children's DNA. The question I was forwarding was this: As the US only accepts as Native American those listed on the Dawls Rolls, is there a precidence for the acceptance of DNA as a criteria for acceptance back into the tribe? And if so, to what degree? That is why I mentioned that Ross himself was only 1/8 Cherokee, but was accepted even to be Chief of the Western Tribe.
Also, as is known, many Cherokees fled the Reservation, and "melded" into the general population. And as Racisim was very plentiful, even in these latter years, just simply told everyone that they were white. It was a family secret for many years that my Grandparents and close reletives were all Cherokee, and Chocktaw. But as they fled to California, and me being born in California, the Legal status of our Family is being White and no recognition of our Native Heritage.
I wish we could do that for the entire population of the U.S. and see what the true population of Natives would realy be.
I put a poll up about it and the answer I got was the True Native Population would be 85%. Not the small amount shown today. Most people who have any Native Blood always put Latino, Hispanic, or Caucasian on documents instead of putting all of it down , thus removing our true Native Population.
It would all depend on how much Native Blood would constitute an acceptance into the various tribes. For Cherokees, the limit was about 1/8 blood. That would mean if your GrandFather was Cherokee, and he married a white, and your father married a white, you would still be concidered Cherokee. However, I have no information if this is accepted in other tribes. But I am quite sure that 85% is a very large exageration. I would even doubt 10%.
both of my parents are 1/4 native american. I need to do more research because I do not know what tribe. I think it is most likely sioux, but idk. Most of my family on both sides are dead, so that is a problem. I've already traced my european ancestors to Scotland and Switzerland.
Is there anything I can do to prove my heritage?? I have been told by my grandma that he was a Chief, his son was a medicine man and healer, and his gift has been passed on to several members of our family. For some reaason I have always had a strong pull to prove what I am. I just want to prove it not for me but for the younger generation in my family so they can put on paper who they are.
Cherokee's live on the land, any white he made them pay him rent. Cherokee's got to live on the land for free. He was considered a chief. I believe that his records were sealed by the government to hide the fact that they took his land, made him go to the reservation. His wife died of a heart attack before he left and he died of a heart attack 1 month after getting there. He was made to walk to the reservation with only what he could carry. I don't need to put on paper who or what I am.
I wish I could prove my heritage. My great-great-great grandpa was forced in 1945 to the Cherokee reservation in NC. I am half Cherokee. But I have been told to put on offical papers I have to have written proof of my heritage. The Cherokee Reservation and the Us Government who stole my grandfathers land says that he never existed. His records were sealed, I believe to hide the fact that he was trying to buy some of the incestral homeland in VA mountains back and that he was only letting
Pt2. why can't you accept someone who is not full blooded but, who is native american by
ancestry. if someone is black, or white etc.. and part indian do they not have a right to their ancsetor's ways?
My child's children belong to me no matter how many generation's of full, or mixed blood they have become, they will always be apart me, and i wil always be apart of them.
Simply because I have African roots, does not make me any less Navajo. My family came together at first, for protection. However it was a bond that lasted.Just because my DNA is 100%,does not mean I am any less entitled to heritage
... a deep connection to my Native American roots and looking at pictures of my dad and my mamaw and even myself it's not hard to see. Tracing it hasn't been easy. All I have to go on is what's in my family Bible. My mamaw was Francis Stipes and she married Roy Collins. They lived in Norton Va. until the moved to Hopewell many years ago and have sinced passed away.
My great grandmother on my dad's side was full blooded Cherokee according to the family Bible that was purchased when I was born and handed down to me. It is nearly 40 years old. Her name was Pauline and her married last name was Green they called her husband "Poppie". We called her "Granny". I actually have a memory of her. My great great grandmother on my mother's side was also Indian and the only thing written for her is (Onie) I don't know if that's a name or a tribe. I've always felt...
my great great grandmother was daughter of chief calm or com battle of the bemidji indians of minnosota. i have no idea of how to find out anything about her. i just want to know her and her father. please help. my email is llbevington@qo;.com
Majority of federally recognized native Americans are not full blood by any means. Apaches, Hopis, Cahuillas etc in large part of USSouthwest have Spanish names and speak fluent Spanish. Same for African Americans(e.g. look up Huey P Newton founder of Black panthers or Malcolm X 1/4white,Bob Marley 1/2). tinyurl[dot]com/5gm83s why didn't europeans ASSIMILATE when they got here? why didnt europeans just "Fix" their country like "good" people?
twiggified,Apaches and Hopis are purest natives in whole North America, both culturally and genetically. Yes,many of them have Spanish surnames, but this is perfectly normal because southwest are historically spanish administrative teritory.
Hey, not only that but Apaches could speak spanish fluently and often traded with the Mexicans longed before Columbus got here. There was also alot of intertrible mixing so all Natives weren't so called pure but because they mixed with other natives and some south american natives they managed to keep their color and features. I encourage anyone that has the money to take a dna test.
This not mean that their's Y Chromosomes are not native,on contrary, only 7 percent Apaches and 5 percent Hopis have partially european Dna. Also, this people preserved traditional religion and languages to greater extent than any other natives in USA.
Washitaws were exposed as frauds by the ADL and SPLC. No such thing as Black Indians before contact with European colonists. They came after as a result of admixture between African slaves and Native tribes. Afro-centric BS is BS.
Then look up the mexican olmecs.Black as can be.And here before any of these newer tribes.Black.And native.Inhabitants for who knows how long.We are all conected, wether by right,or by marriage. We share alot of same history.
That's conjecture. As Salsassin's pointed out in his videos and other Youtubers have pointed out in their posts, there are unmixed present-day Natives in Mexico with those same features as well as certain groups in South America, especially when it comes to the Amazonian tribes. Also, the blacks being "older" than Natives is fanciful speculation at best. Genuine Native peoples have their own stories and they would most likely mention any blacks in bygone eras.
I have no doubt that mixed-blooded peoples who haven't turned their backs on their Native heritage share the same struggles as their kin. That being said you're not entitled to heritage. You're either raised in it or not. Simply barging into any Native community and demanding, whether implicitly or explicitly, that you have a right to whatever makes up the culture is mostly met with derision just like New-Agers usually are. If you weren't raised Navajo how can you claim it?
Pt1, Enseni, I don't understand how indian's take pride in all their ancestor's before them, and expect someone who's part native american not to remember, and appreciate thier ancestors.
Hey there, well lets think on this for a sec. Everyone didn't get the chance have the native culture as part of their lives. If the world was fair, even and open to everyone than there wouldn't be stuggle and strife. Let's say you were jewish but you're government gave you away to muslims. Would it be fair to say you couldn't be jewish because someone made a choice that wasn't theirs? There is a man that runs the Cherokee Nation and he isn't full cherokee. Teach people to embrace Native culture.
they look European and that may be because of the brutal rape. the white lady claims she found out she was native indian, that white girl is European. Black indians were here first then other indians then europeans as they raped the non dark skinned indians they became lighter and lighter hence looking like the narrators of this clip. research WASHUTAW indians and know who was on and who owned this land first. your looking at a product of a rape when you see Indians of such whiteness.
i have apache, navaho, tewa, and ute blood in me, but i don't know how much. i don't where to get tested so that i can get a scholarship/free educationi, or even where to join a tribal citizenship. my parents won't even do anything, but i'm interested in finding out!

I am also Powhatan and Cherokee.
I look more Cherokee though.
I see Native Peoples and I see my Ancestors.

I'm native but from Canada,so this wouldn't apply to us up here. Even my 2 uncles and aunt who moved to the U.S. needed to get their cards from Canada
canadianmuslimnproud 4 months ago
@canadianmuslimnproud Exactly. And do you tell people you are Native American or Canadian Native? Some (who probably are NOT ethnic natives) can not understand .
MuhammadsStillASissy 3 months ago
@canadianmuslimnproud Actually I represent myself as "First Nations" as do most other aboriginal people from Canada do. And just do your research into your family tree as best as you can. Not all registered themselves with the Gov't and some hid their nationality to protect themselves and their children from racism. So it's often a hard task proving who you are sometimes, but don't let people discourage you.
canadianmuslimnproud 1 month ago
While people like to say America is all of the continent, in this case it is only the U.S. There have always been borders, seperate nations.Ethnic "Indians" are not all the same.We fought wars for land and borders. To say First Nations knew no borders is incorrect and stupid. It might sound "new age" or non racist or whatever but it is wrong.I don't care where you are from or what "you" think Native American means to you but to the B.I.A. it means only Indigenous Natives of the U.S.of A.
MuhammadsStillASissy 5 months ago
CDIB is issued by the Federal Government of the United States of America for indigenous Natives of the United States of America. If you are from Mexico or any other country other than the U.S.A., then go to your own governments. If the U.S. government delt with buisness of other countries their nationals would bitch. Why should the U.S. B.I.A. deal with buisness of other countries? They can't and shouldn't.You don't like it, go to your own embasy or gov. rep. We U.S. natives have enough problems.

yes I know that Mexico borders the United States, and that Mexico and Texas were once a part of the same country. And I do know that Mexico is NOT a race... I am not an idiot.. I live in Texas. So I know that Mexico is a country into itself. So, CHSN09, you don't have to get your panties in an uproar if I state that the Aztec Mayan Indians were based out of Mexico. Thank you
tracicarle 1 year ago 2
The Aztec Mayan Indians aren't Native American Indians. The Aztec Mayan Indians were in Mexico, and I don't think they migrated into North America, so wouldn't be considered "Native American" per say. So even though you are from Indian ancestry due to the Aztec Mayans, they wouldn't be considered from North America. They are still from Mexico. You technically aren't being discriminated upon. You could go to the Mexican government and seek out how to receive your tribal mem. from there.
tracicarle 1 year ago
@tracicarle Aztecs and Mayans are Native American groups. Keep in mind that many parts of Mexico and USA were once part of each other. Borders are political barriers.
Mexico is NOT a race. It is a nationality
chsn09 1 year ago
@tracicarle 1) Mexico is is part of North America. 2) The term "Native Americans" includes all indigenous peoples of the continent, not st those of the U.S.

@MRXYZ1ER NO, Native American Naives under United States Fed. law covers only Natives from Nations of the United States of America.
MuhammadsStillASissy 5 months ago
@MuhammadsStillASissy: Right Fed. Law covers only U.S. And not all I believe. However the term Native Americans is an umbrella term to identify the indigenous people/descendants of the continent of America. Canada, United States, Mexico etc..etc..
MRXYZ1ER 5 months ago
@MRXYZ1ER This is not the proper vinue for that arguement. This vid is about CDIB card. That is issued by the United States. So in this instence, Native American covers only Natives of the United States of America. If Mexican "Indians" Pruvian "indians" or whoever wants to be recognised then they need to go to their country of origin. It is not for The U.S. B.I.A. to register them.Further, to Ethnic First Nations people, Native American means them.Native nations are seperate & autonomous.
MuhammadsStillASissy 5 months ago
@MRXYZ1ER No, the countries in the either of the continents of the Americas (N.American, Central American, N.American) are the "Americas".; NOT America which is one seperate and individual country. If one says he is an American, he does not mean people to believe he is from Peru or elsewhere on the continent. That is ludricrus. In the same manner, if one says "I am a Mexican", he is not claiming to be or expecting to be viewed as an American.Clearly you can see the difference.CDIB is for Americans
MuhammadsStillASissy 4 months ago
@MRXYZ1ER If you want the proper term for indigenous natives of the American Continents it would be Natives of the" Americas", not Native Americans (natives of America...not any other country. America only.)You think there are no Native Mexicans or ind. Native ARGENTINIANS ? Do you think they consdider themselves Native Americans? Get real.It is not the same. Our countrys of origin are seperate as are our nations, bands, & customs. We hold them close to our hearts. We do not care to mix them.

Wow you think that ALL white people have beautiful hair? I know white people that have "ugly" hair if you will. Same with blacks. I know "blacks" that don't have beautiful complexions.

@TheSingingAuditions LMAO. No one ever said they were Mexicans and who ever says that they are ALL Mexicans is extremely ignorant.

a lot of people claim "blood" and a tribal affiliation that is FALSE.

We pray to the four directions and all of its people and animal nations, and we know we are all related and taught this at a young age. The natives here saying bad things are not natives because they are walking in a good way.

I'm a full Native American,
Is it possible that some people make things up? Like how many people have told me that their 'great great grandmother was part cherokee'? If millions of Native Americans were killed, then how could so many become mixed into the white population? That would only leave a few hundred thousand real Natives.
TheNightWolfie 1 year ago
@TheNightWolfie Hey, I can answer that question. It's because like in other things when it's difficult people lie. There are plenty of people with Native heritage that denied it way back when because it was convenient, safer, etc. There is also a large Mexican poulation that looks supspiciously Native.
TheMidnightBell07 1 year ago

Chief John Ross sold the Cherokee people out to the white man
LONEWOLF3288 2 years ago
Too bad you didn't read "Cherokee Tragedy" , printed by Oklahoma Press. A little more history, would maybe shed some light on the two sides that fought the White takeover of Georgia. (Ross-Waite). It wasn't such a clear cut proposition. All the sides of the Cherokees and Creeks were manipulated to their degredation. Instead of blaming Ross, blame Jackson.
ChiefOren 2 years ago 2
very untrue he sold no people to anyone-- also although he was not full Cherokee his wife (my grandmother was) the endless talk of who knows what-- "do your full History research (FULL) before making statements.
scottstounge 2 years ago
By the way, Ross was 1/8 Cherokee. But was accepted as Cherokee. Wonder if DNA would reinstate Cherokees that are not on the Dawls Rolls.
ChiefOren 2 years ago
do you question the DNA OF his Wife he had children with?
scottstounge 2 years ago
I was not questioning Ross's or his Wife's and Children's DNA. The question I was forwarding was this: As the US only accepts as Native American those listed on the Dawls Rolls, is there a precidence for the acceptance of DNA as a criteria for acceptance back into the tribe? And if so, to what degree? That is why I mentioned that Ross himself was only 1/8 Cherokee, but was accepted even to be Chief of the Western Tribe.
ChiefOren 2 years ago
Also, as is known, many Cherokees fled the Reservation, and "melded" into the general population. And as Racisim was very plentiful, even in these latter years, just simply told everyone that they were white. It was a family secret for many years that my Grandparents and close reletives were all Cherokee, and Chocktaw. But as they fled to California, and me being born in California, the Legal status of our Family is being White and no recognition of our Native Heritage.
ChiefOren 2 years ago
I wish we could do that for the entire population of the U.S. and see what the true population of Natives would realy be.
I put a poll up about it and the answer I got was the True Native Population would be 85%. Not the small amount shown today. Most people who have any Native Blood always put Latino, Hispanic, or Caucasian on documents instead of putting all of it down , thus removing our true Native Population.
AdawehiMeliLayton 2 years ago 2
It would all depend on how much Native Blood would constitute an acceptance into the various tribes. For Cherokees, the limit was about 1/8 blood. That would mean if your GrandFather was Cherokee, and he married a white, and your father married a white, you would still be concidered Cherokee. However, I have no information if this is accepted in other tribes. But I am quite sure that 85% is a very large exageration. I would even doubt 10%.

Many of us have MORE than one tribe bloodline in our veins and our government will not let us use all of it only one
How is that fair to the MILLIONS whom ARE mixed with other tribes due to the American Indian Holocaust and just traditional intermariage

both of my parents are 1/4 native american.

Majority of federally recognized native Americans are not full blood by any means. Apaches, Hopis, Cahuillas etc in large part of USSouthwest have Spanish names and speak fluent Spanish. Same for African Americans(e.g. look up Huey P Newton founder of Black panthers or Malcolm X 1/4white,Bob Marley 1/2). tinyurl[dot]com/5gm83s why didn't europeans ASSIMILATE when they got here? why didnt europeans just "Fix" their country like "good" people?
twiggified 3 years ago
twiggified,Apaches and Hopis are purest natives in whole North America, both culturally and genetically. Yes,many of them have Spanish surnames, but this is perfectly normal because southwest are historically spanish administrative teritory.
natsukiak 3 years ago
Hey, not only that but Apaches could speak spanish fluently and often traded with the Mexicans longed before Columbus got here. There was also alot of intertrible mixing so all Natives weren't so called pure but because they mixed with other natives and some south american natives they managed to keep their color and features. I encourage anyone that has the money to take a dna test.
TheMidnightBell07 2 years ago
This not mean that their's Y Chromosomes are not native,on contrary, only 7 percent Apaches and 5 percent Hopis have partially european Dna. Also, this people preserved traditional religion and languages to greater extent than any other natives in USA.
natsukiak 3 years ago
Washitaws were exposed as frauds by the ADL and SPLC. No such thing as Black Indians before contact with European colonists. They came after as a result of admixture between African slaves and Native tribes. Afro-centric BS is BS.

Then look up the mexican olmecs.Black as can be.And here before any of these newer tribes.Black.And native.Inhabitants for who knows how long.We are all conected, wether by right,or by marriage. We share alot of same history.
KingLouisXXI 3 years ago
That's conjecture. As Salsassin's pointed out in his videos and other Youtubers have pointed out in their posts, there are unmixed present-day Natives in Mexico with those same features as well as certain groups in South America, especially when it comes to the Amazonian tribes. Also, the blacks being "older" than Natives is fanciful speculation at best. Genuine Native peoples have their own stories and they would most likely mention any blacks in bygone eras.
Enseni 3 years ago 2
I have no doubt that mixed-blooded peoples who haven't turned their backs on their Native heritage share the same struggles as their kin. That being said you're not entitled to heritage. You're either raised in it or not. Simply barging into any Native community and demanding, whether implicitly or explicitly, that you have a right to whatever makes up the culture is mostly met with derision just like New-Agers usually are. If you weren't raised Navajo how can you claim it?
Enseni 3 years ago
Pt1, Enseni, I don't understand how indian's take pride in all their ancestor's before them, and expect someone who's part native american not to remember, and appreciate thier ancestors.
imfrommattapan 3 years ago 7
Hey there, well lets think on this for a sec. Everyone didn't get the chance have the native culture as part of their lives. If the world was fair, even and open to everyone than there wouldn't be stuggle and strife. Let's say you were jewish but you're government gave you away to muslims. Would it be fair to say you couldn't be jewish because someone made a choice that wasn't theirs? There is a man that runs the Cherokee Nation and he isn't full cherokee. Teach people to embrace Native culture.
TheMidnightBell07 2 years ago 3
they look European and that may be because of the brutal rape. the white lady claims she found out she was native indian, that white girl is European. Black indians were here first then other indians then europeans as they raped the non dark skinned indians they became lighter and lighter hence looking like the narrators of this clip. research WASHUTAW indians and know who was on and who owned this land first. your looking at a product of a rape when you see Indians of such whiteness.
