  • Am curious to know where you got the outfit from, especially the lower half of the outfit because I have a similar shape to you and wouldn't mind a pair.

Awesome video, heard the song before I saw the vid. Did a search for it and found your vid. It's kinda inspired me to take up bellydancing

  • Glad to inspire!

Outfit - the top/arms were made by L. Rose Designs - they make custom dance clothes. The pants are Melo-Phoenixes from Melodia Designs. The belt was my own design - I constructed it with strips of fabric, inspired loosely by Tempest's "corset belt" design, but also tracing the shape from a well-fitting bellydance costume belt.

  • Beautiful performance, awesome Garmarna song, but i think the other version fits more with the kind of dance, beautiful women, awesome tattoo.

    Regards from México :)

  • Neat - I'll have to look for the other version of the song. <3 Garmarna.

  • @Nypintha It is on their self named album i guess.

  • its not an arab sword... its a scimitar...

  • whats whit the arab sword?

  • That's the only swords that are made for balancing...(it is after all derived from bellydance).

  • 5/5!

But the song is Klevabergselden ;)

  • Oh, mispelling - I'll update the comments to give the proper spelling.

    Thanks for the 5/5!

  • POWERFUL! And interesting use of the sword. I'm glad more and more dancers have realized that a sword is... a sword, not a mere balancing act prop. You really know how to use the sword. Thank you for this wonderful and inspiring dance.

  • unrealistisch aber total wie kann die ein rasierklingen-scharfen säbel am kopf balancieren verdammt hey respekt

  • Hey Babelfish translated this as:

Unrealistic but totally awesome, razor-sharp sword on head balancing. Damn hey respect!

    so thanks!

  • Wow!

    Very dramatic!

I agree with one of the posters that the fact that you are using the sword for weilding and posing is great! So many dancers just balance it here and there. That gets boring. Using the red veil was awesome!

    Great job, lady!

I'm thinking of getting a piece together if there is another Raks Spooki this year. Although Regina said I couldn't perform at the last one. :(

  • I'm sure the only reason you couldn't perform is that she already had enough dancers to fill the slots. There's going to be another one in October!

  • Oh okay...

I didn't know if it was only Boston area dancers who were allowed.

It probably filled up quickly with the large goth scene in Boston.

I'll try to catch her early for the October show.

  • Excellent! So many dancers seem to think of a sword as simply being an object to balance or make pretty shapes. You wield aggressively, as a weapon, as it should be used. I'm also glad to see that someone else sees the potential in Garmarna as music for Raqs Sharqi.

  • Simply amazing Nypintha! You effortlessly combine theater and bellydance for one heck of a show!

  • thats fucking hot! very creative, I loved it..Who did you learn gbd from? you really captured the art of gothic..always tells a story with the dance..

  • Thank you! Thank you for appreciating it!

Grew up in the goth scene, so I had it in me. For my regular bellydance, I study with a bunch of different people.
