Thanks. I am making a cigarbox strum stick and i'm planning on tuning it to DAD and using mandolin strings(trying to make an imitation grand strumstick) and if have any more pointers please feel free to share them.
I really like 22" myself, but I've made them as long as 30". It depends on what tuning you want and how fancy you want to play. The shorter scale makes it easier to do more complicated chords and such, and you end up with a higher tuning with standard dulcimer strings. God bless. :)
how do you make a diatonic neck...like i dont understand how far you should put the frets. Any tips or pointers?
