Hi! I wonder if you've ever met any actual VFX artists? I have known literally hundreds and (with very few exceptions) they are incredibly talented professionals with an astonishing array of creative and technical abilities, who work inhumanly long hours to deliver the best results they possibly can. But hey, it's much easier to sit on the sidelines and cut a cruddy reel of what you consider to be "bad CGI" than to produce a convincing VFX shot (of which there are many).
you can say all you want about moviemakers who use CGI, but using hitler to promote your little festival thingy isn't really professional either. and yeah there is a lot of crappy cgi, but there are a lot of shitty practical effects too. Why not celebrate the movies that have great effect instead of complain about movies that you shouldn't have watched in the first place.
Was this meant to be a compilation of bad cgi effects or just things that irritated you? There's some terrible ones in here sure but there's good effects and animation in here too. Also you've included CGI in here that was from low budget intentionally bad movies, those were direct to sci-fi channel or DVD movies. They don't have the funds to do something seemless. Crappy characters and movies come from crappy scripts not visual effects.
I am pretty offended by this video, namely the Hitler cut in's. People do this to feed families and entertain YOU; The lazy sloth who probably won't even buy a movie ticket.
The VFX school drop out who made this movie has some real nerve to compare some bad composites/renders to a man that caused the death of millions is straight ignorant.
You know nothing of the business, and have way too much time on your hands.
A quick complaint. I love that the Drafthouse is addressing this issue but I have to object to the use of a clip from Drag Me to Hell. That film was hardly a CGI offender. Jurassic Park, ironically the film the ushered in the CGI revolution, wisely combined Computer Effects with Practical Artistry and so did Drag Me to Hell. How about a shot from An American Werewolf in Paris and a little less Hitler?
Why do you feel that "CGI" and modern visual effects are responsible for bad movies or removing the magic from movies? I remember plenty of really bad movies before digital visual effects. What does Hitler have to do with any of it?
One word rebuttal: Pixar. That is all.

@beefcake666 Hitler was a major player in the setting up and funding of ILM, which is responsible for 90% of bad CGI today

Great examples in the rest of the video, though.

That bit of CGI from Spider-Man 2 is not only great, but it would be impossible to do any other way.

What's with all the Hitler?

Yes, let's just ignore the fact that there isn't a single movie in that montage that wasn't made before '05

@jetsonsge The transformation shot from Wolfman was quite definitely made after 2005.
