  • Battlefield Earth was a piece of crap that deserved its Razzies.

  • I'm certainly not condoning all drug, or drug methods, but if there were no illnesses that required control by pharmaceuticals, than why were they studied & invented?! That is just preposterous...this person certainly deserved to be looked at by a specialist!!!! How very sad. ...and it is especially disturbing to me that a science fiction writer has so much unadulterated power!

  • I hate to say it, but common sense tells me, Jeremy was (at least partially) a product of a cult mentality (ie: Scientology). Whether or not he had a combination of mental illnesses plaguing him, being brought up in that atmosphere, (ie"nature vs. nurture) In my opinion, played a big role in his mentality!

  • Scientology AKA The Church of Let Me Take Your Life Savings Then Kick Your Ass Out When You're Broke.

  • Wow, the guy was experiencing so much hallucinations and all...it's a sad thing that they never got him proper help to begin with! How frustrated must he have felt when his parents didn't believe he was sick...and didn't get him help cuz it was "against their religion"!! Morons!!

  • jeremy needed the pychiatric drugs....so he wouldn't have killed his mom....well, too late i don't care if it's against your religion or does not cure you....if it prevents you from doing crazy shit...then, take the drugs

  • @SarahGerencher Word!

  • Whoever they are talking to in the beginning, wish he could hear himself talk... Sounds completely idiotic! Nothing is more sad then listening to someone talk as if they truly know it all.

  • someone should put that guy on film at 40th second in a mental hospital

    dumb fucks

  • hey the cia were the ones who flew the planes pal

  • Who wants to punch scientologists in the head?

  • Thisis what happens when anyone takes anything (Like religion) to the extreme. Hence people burning themselves in Waco or Drinking Jim Jones flavored koolaid or flying planes into buildings. What Scientologists (Not the COS) believes about the Psychiatric industry is true in 95% (Or more) or the cases. There IS organic mental illness and this dude was sick, damaged and in need of meds. But 95% of those who are on meds shouldn't be. It's all about the money on BOTH sides. The COS and Psychiatry.

  • The psychiatric drugs caused this murder. Scientology was what kept the tragedy from happening for 28 years, but one slip into psychiatry and tragedy happened. This should be a lesson to everyone out there.

  • @TheOpenMinded12460 $cientology: a question of $cams.

  • @CLARK20933 @TheOpenMinded12460 He probably knows the truth about mental illness. He just wants his money like any robber.

  • What a crock of crap. As a person with a family member who suffered from schizophrenia, I am so glad for the drugs which helped her live a better life.

  • Vitamins for mental illness? This is too much! Too much! I can't take it!

  • bring anonymous to kick this morons ass!, no mental illnes??? suuuure, and look theres pigs flying tooo!

  • Wow. Scientologists are fucking retarded.

  • hubbard was bitter bc psychologist rjected his ideas when he tried to incorporate them with psychology

  • that blonde lady and the grey haired dude are retarded. they are just lying to themselves and they just hide from things that make life better for others

  • Oh bullocks, schizophrenia and schizo-affective disorders have been reported since the beginning of recorded history. All schizophrenics suffer from a very specific set of symptoms (paranoia, psychosis, etc) that manifest at predictable ages (between 18-24). Hardly any cases of schizophrenia manifest after 30 and it's largely a latent genetic illness. The fact that we cannot treat it (just as we can't treat dozens of cancers) does not diminish the reality of the illness.

  • @ritter89 The common age range for onset is more like 16 - 30. And it is treatable, it's just not curable. Difficult to keep schizophrenics ON treatment though.

  • All I know about Scientology is from South Park. This is still a free country, believe in whatever you want. He may have stabbed his doctor if he had one. Then the facists would blame it on some other free right.

  • busy work...yea that was going to help?!

  • there's no way lorazepam contributed, that's ridiculous

  • "There is no such thing as mental illness" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. This guy should be a stand up comic. I'd pay to see this little fuck.

  • you probably already do...he's in a lot of great movies

  • Geezzzzzzzzzzz didnt his parent learn their lesson yet ???? More scientology ????????

  • This is so sad :(

  • As a person who was untreated for Bipolar disorder for ten years and now after two years of treatment is functioning normally again. I can 100% confirm, first hand, that mental health problems DO exist and that Psychiatric medication DOES work!! This is very sad! Yes, it can take a few years after diagnosis to find the right drugs, but once you get it right... my god you LIVE again! I am shocked at how wonderful my life is now. I never thought I'd get to this stage! I thank my Pdoc everyday!

  • my partner has manic depression bipolar disorder and as mood disorder, he was once diagnosed with scitzaphrenia they grasped at straws. hes been on so many different types of meds which put him in a zombie state it was very fightening it took nearly 15 years and for the last 3yrs hes been functioning alot better and can lead a normal life and hes only 31 but if he stops the meds hes back to being very manic hallucionates angry hyper. hes on serequil 400mgs a day. its a sad progress. good luck.

  • @1lilleth I'm really glad he's getting better. It's tough road and most people do not understand.

  • its tough for everyone involved. iv had to have him sectioned because he was so bad, it broke my heart doing that but for the safety of himself me and our son i had to. ppl need to be educated on mental health issues it affects so many people.he was in denial for a long time and it made matters worse or hed start feeling better and then stop taking his meds thinking he was ok when he wasnt. he had to come to term with it and he has. thank you for your message. i hope all is well with you.

  • I had a friend with paranoid schizophrenia... it is STUPID not to give them medication. My friend was not strong, but he would terrify me with the things coming out of his mind.

  • Comment removed

  • Hi, I suspect you have never met a paranoid schizophreniac. My friend was almost EXACTLY like the guy in this story. This guy killed his mother... perhaps you wouldn't be afraid of him... and so get killed like his mother.

  • Comment removed

  • & No, truthfully I've never met a Paranoid Schizophrenic

    :-)

  • and another thing...

mental illness is just as REAL as any physical illness. Medications + a form of psychotherapy/behavioral modification is what we know works best today for many mental illnesses such as this. talk to a real doctor.

  • Just give the boy digestive vitamin therapy for schizophrenia? WTF?!?!

exactly Nawty2 - you hit it right on the head. These people are so wrapped up in their ignorance/propaganda, they don't realize that they themselves are the ones perpetrating mind-control...how ironic is that! perfect example of "projection" don't ya think?

  • scientology is against psychology because they dont want their followers to be educated more about the science of the mind, human behavour, etc., because if they did, theyd know scientology is a bunch of bullshit.

  • @Nawty2Hawty and they would know Hubbard is full of shit, lol.

  • @Nawty2Hawty @TheOpenMinded12460 I fully agree with you. By the way it should be $cientology because, this cult leader cares only about money and nothing else. Another thing, is I think the leader drugs the follower's food and drinks too and that's why he MAKES them believe. This cult should be illegal. Hands up if you agree that Scientology should be illegal. Hands down if you disagree, and want Scientology to be legal.

  • i wouldnt be surprised if theres more mental illness related murders due to scientology. It makes me so angry that people cant see the fact that its ridiculous. If i find out someone is a scientologist i loose immediate respect for them and question their judgement.

  • this is why religion can be dangerous.. brainwash is a very serious thing...

  • How is this guy a professor? WTF? This idiot claims there is no mental illness but is working at a university? Who hired this retard?

  • exactly!...schizophrenia symptoms r due to increased levels of dopamine & drugs 2treat schiz aim to

  • balance out brain chemistry....if it weren't 4those drugs, my bro would b walkin in the streets all night long too. Thank God for medicine!

  • university for "scientologists"

  • religion/cult...no difference. they both are the root of all evil. would jett travolta be alive if his parents had sought medical treatment for his 'siezures'?

this is what you get anytime you turn your mind and soul over to a groupthink organization. SHEEPLE....all religions are the same....attract and fleece the sheep....wake up folks....and christianity is the worst!! violent, judgemental m-f's all of them, rather...you.

  • Good, smart comment erzebetb! You have expressed my thoughts on religion very well. Why are there so many who believe in this indoctrination in the 21st century???

  • thelo15- sadly, because someone told them to. by the time they are 5 a child is FORMED in their basic thoughts and beliefs. you hear little kids singing 'jesus loves me' as soon as they can sing, and they are saying prayers at night before they can form complete sentences. they are such little sponges at that time, and they are saturated with the propaganda. it's the same 'grooming' that takes place in any type of abuse situation....

  • am i the only one who thinks a guy who writes science fiction novels and creates sceintology is not just a coincidence??

  • I've always thought that he created Scientology as a way to avoid paying taxes

  • One reason - another reason was because there's no doubt religion on one of the most lucrative endeavors known to man.

  • Scientology is cult like and I'm afraid of what will happen in years to come because of it.

  • I wonder if after he killed Elli he said, "nobody fucks with the jesus" ?

  • faith? what a joke.

  • Fucking $cilons should be in jail.

  • ok whatever you say have a good laugh so will I hahahahaha

  • *face palm*...jesus christ hahaha

  • Uh no thanks weirdo. And my comment made perfect sense. You pulled that line right out of billy madison. "Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul. "

  • it made more sense than your comment, billy madison...I mean draziom

  • The troubled kid looked just a little like Johnny Depp, no? Around the eyes.

  • I did not expect a normal comment from you so this was no surprise. I think you are not used to hear rational and normal talk and therefor you act like this. In the end you are the one that takes the shortest straw.

  • No, that's nonsense. People kill people, another human being or themselves. There is no profession that stand for killing people. Only people that makes excuses for their wrong doing. Like dropping boms everywhere on earth and then say God or Allah said so. Load of crap, like your comment.

  • Scientology is evil!

  • I'm a RN and this scientology bullshit is absolutely unbelievable to me. It's scary that some people live their lives by this so called "religion"!

  • For me religion is only a good thing if it means you think and act good. If not it is not really religious belief but extreme ideas, which never are good. For example in this case. The son was witheld good mental care because of a strange idea that psychiatrics are evil and that mental illnesses are non existing. I think therefor that this belief of the mother caused indirectly her dead.

  • Natural, drug free healing methods. Hows that working for you?

  • This is one of the weirdest cults of our time. I feel quite bad for the people being controlled by Scientology. "shiver"

  • Thanks Truth for your honesty and candor about your illness.

This case is so sad and so tragic. Jeremy had a *treatable* illness. This was completely preventable.

$cientology is a morally corrupt cult.

Mental illness is real. Wish I could expose that so called "expert" who doesn't believe in mental illness to a person suffering from delusions, hallucinations, severe anxiety... Does he think these conditions are a CHOICE?

$cientology kills. Psychiatry saves lives. Go Anonymous!

  • DIGESTIVE PROBLEMS?!! These people need to be fucking inprisoned!

  • All i can say is "thank fuck i'm not a Scientologist" I was diagnosed with schizophrenia in 1993 & without the help of anti-psychotic medication i would still be locked up in a mental institution. Scientologists have no clue or qualifications to treat the mentally ill. Psychiatry saves lives. Scientology kills.

  • she tried everything huh? and still believes scientology is right? well, sorry then, but she deserves what she got I guess.. the silly fools don't realize they are saying nothing is legit if it's not a quick fix solution..that's what typical drug addicts and uneducated morons believe..real therapy and self-awareness is a lifelong process!

  • Supaho you have no clue to what you are talking about and you yet you little follower ...you still believe it!! You cant imagine how many doctors are Scn and have very successful practices. Where do you get your ignorant info from? Who tells you all this hogwash? You have really gone off the deep end with your fear ...

  • oh cmon u wouldnt treat a broken leg with sum vit. c? and vit tablets have many "toxins" that bind, give colour etc...why not eat a varied diet instaed?-will scientology now call flinstones chewables the new scourge of humanity?

  • NO .... you are not that stupid supaho!!!

  • what?!

im not that stupid thank xenu! im making a "parodied example" thats all. medidines are so complex and i think that scientology doesnt allow for that-in fact dianetics is based on siegmund freuds early works-plagarised by lrh. u dont have to be a rocket-scientist to go for the modern, concrete theories.

  • and im not goig to bother replying to you so dont waste your time.

  • So, in such a case would they deny phenomena manifested from neurological disorders? That's ridiculous.

  • So...Mental Illness doesn't exist! I'll talk to my Granpa about this for his Alzheimer ! Oh wait! I'll have to tell him everyday minimum! WTF! March 15 2008

  • Ofcourse they do exist. There are studies and proof that mental illnesses exist, it shows in the brain. For example with ADHD and Borderline.
