Our drum major from 2007-2008 sorta kinda had a power rangers drum major outfit. She looked cool as hell. When she did her salute we would yell go go power rangers knowing that would throw off our show lol.

Nearly all adjudicators hate hate hate anything beyond a military-style salute. Of course, DM score doesn't typically factor into the band's score, but it's still nice to leave a good impression.

its the finals performance that change the way the judges score. its cause they were THAT GOOD. true story....my marching instructor competed with them while he was in DCI in 2004.

Drmbeaufort obviously knows nothing about entertaining. Any idiot can tell you that 90% of ANY football crowd has little knowledge of musicality. When it comes to entertaining, DCI cant stand a chance to FAMU or even Grambling for that matter. It makes no sense to play conservative style music when it does nothing to pep the crowd or most importantly the football team. Save the festival music for festival rookies. For entertaining a crowd full of musically-retarded football fans yeah, do whatever but when it comes to REAL music, I'll take corps style HANDS DOWN. You know as well as I do that "show" bands put almost ZERO emphasis on sound QUALITY, and focus almost entirely on flashing and dancing. They usually only play songs you hear on the radio, and their field formations usually consist of generic, poorly executed, kaleidescope-like shapes. I'd like to see FAMU or Grambling step to ANY DCI corps!

This is true. Frameworks was arguably one of the best damn drum corps shows EVER. And it's not just top 3 corps that get standing o's, Carolina Crown (6th in finals) got probably the best crowd reaction of the night.
