Sum 41 rocks and they sound good live. Also Deryck's songs are great. Especially SBM is quite a work of art.

I dont think they felt like taking much time to do precise mixing or micing on his drums. Cause abe would never use a Shure Beta 52, especially just at the hole. He always has a kick ass bassy mid scoop sound for sure. Not a jazz kit sound, for sure. The sound guys are to blame usually :P

For all of the Deftones fans watching this, we know how sick Abe really is. For all people judging this man before hearing any of his work, you're dumb. Go listen to White Pony, or fuck just listen to any of their records. His grooves are creative, his feel is incredible and his drums sound like fucking guns going off. Abe'a drumming inspired me to play.

If anyone else tried to play as many ghost notes as he does in a song, or even just 4 bars, it would probably sound cluttered, but he knows where to put them. I agree, he was a HUGE inspiration for me to start drumming, and remains one of my all time favorite drummers.
