Supporters of Prop 8 are not branded bigots - THEY ARE BIGOTS. They can find behind their particular religious views as much as they'd like, but it doesn't change anything.

However, it's wrong to vandalize yard signs simply because it gives the bigots excuse to make emotional videos like this. Nonetheless, this sort of behaviour was not exclusive to the 'No on 8' camp. Some supporters of the proposition vandalized the signs of those who opposed the discriminatory initiative.

When I asked police how many No on 8 signs had been stolen they said not a one and that this was happening all over. The police even told us that the "No's" were throwing urine on prop.8 supporters! That's what happens when you oppress a group of people, they fight back. I don't know where you live but where I live in CA Prop 8 supporters placed tons of signs in unauthorized places...i.e.along the highways and in empty fields. In my neighborhood signs were stolen for and against prop 8.

The incident of the Yes on 8 volunteer being punched has been reported on by the Modesto Bee. It was 2 members of the SAME CONGREGATION, one a Yes supporter, and one a No supporter getting into a fight. It WAS NOT, as suggested by the YES Campaign, a No on 8 person randomly walking off the street and absconding with dozens of yard signs. In fact, the signs WEREN'T stolen, they were tossed over the back fence according to the article.

However, 'No on 8' signs were also vandalized. Every year statistics show that gays, bisexuals face horrible physical and verbal hate crimes - so forgive the rest of us if we don't buy your claims that some bigoted folks were victimised.
