they have patch cords that let you hook your stereo to you computer so you can get decent audio. This business recording with a microphone across the room doesn't work.
Steppenwolf's version from their Skulldugery (1976) Album/CD is much better than Cher's cover of this song. John Kay sounds angry and his anger intensifies as the song goes on. This was John Kay's third cover of an Alan O'Day song, the first and best song being "Easy Evil" from his 2nd solo album "My Sportin' Life", that alan O'Day plays keyboards on, and the second song being "Annie, Annie, Over" from the "Hour of the Wolf" CD (1975)
OMG....I remember playing this record and seeing that MCA record label spinning just like that!

This is more than a 'Female is pissed-off now' song.
Listen to that second verse, where it's clear she's thinking about shooting her man, and then she turns the gun around.
I remember the first time I really listened to those lyrics, and it scared the daylights out of me when I realized what she meant.

This was an awsome song back in the 1970's.

Maybe the first 'Female is pissed-off now' songs I ever heard. I think Cher was at her best.
