Pretty cool to see Jimmy using his Fender XII, he used it on Stairway to Heaven, When the Levee Breaks, The Song Remains the Same and Thank You on his studio recordings.
Oh my!! What a great jam. I hope Tal knows how fortunate she is...and how bleeding talented she is to have been included in this and to have earned the right to be included in this. Four amazing musicians these. No judgements or rankings, just kick-ass tuneage being delivered to us wannabees. Brilliant!!
So Rush are bad musicians because they sound like the album, lol, people want to hear the songs they play on their albums, not some incoherent jamming crap. Just listen to Cream go into a 25 minute jam on spoonful, and you'll appreciate the short version.
"I hate [it] when people say Jimmy Page wrote this, played it and produced it!"
That is absolute rubbish, because the Wikipedia pages you link say absolutely nothing of the sort.
I quote: "After leaving the Yardbirds, Beck recorded the one-off "Beck's Bolero" (with Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones, Nicky Hopkins and Keith Moon)", and, "Jeff Beck and Page recorded "Beck's Bolero" in London's IBC Studios."
Great video! Beck was his usual self. Page didn't seem to do much but make an appearance. But as Jeff Beck said, "John McLaughlin is the greatest living guitarist."
@LedWhisky69 My thoughts exactly. Jimmy has said that he was more of a composer while Jeff was more of a lead soloist. This is a great example of this. Jimmy alone was enough for Led Zeppelin to make kick ass rock, imagine if Jeff was in the band also. Another pairing would have been if Eddie Van Halen allowed Randy Rhoads to join Van Halen, It would add rhythm guitar to all the Van Halen material, and each guy was capable of playing 10 minute solos. Not much of Quiet Riot was good.
THis would be a great interview ? for them. They have been close pal s since childhood. could they have colaborated at jimmys house or jeffs? Love them both
Beck is as creative as Hendrix, as accomplished as Clapton and as visionary as Page. However, without a charismatic lead singer, nobody ever got a chance to see it. That's why he never achieved the type of success as those three did...and because he bounced all over the place with his musical styles.

@Nintendo129 I swear. Zeppelin never sounded like there albums after 1973 and that's the truth. I love all the Led Zeppelin's albums but they had a hard recreating that sound "Live". Why that was still amazes me.
@JeffBeckAndFriends Also look at the year. Page also recorded at least two guitars and sometimes four. He would play lead licks then switch to rhythm in shows. They're both great but dude concerts from 73 don't sound as good as todays because we have better technology
@caveman735 The Jeff Beck Group,Ten Years After and Led Zeppelin all jammed together on the same stage at the Singer Bowl in June 1969. Vanilla Fudge was there but never joined in on the jam. I guess the stage was too crowded.
@LedZepfilm yeah they sort of sucked live......jimmi was constantly drunk literally drooling over his guitar....he was good but imagine if he was sober
@LedZepfilm Yes they all have bad days but i just listened to Knebworth and some of the Ertegun tribute show. What do you think of those shows? Now let's get this straight. When i mean "live" i'm talking about video recordings only. Zeppelin from the Scandanavian tour in1969 and the Royal Albert Hall show were great. This is the last time i will say this, "Jeff Beck sounds just like his albums 97% of the time and there are 100's of hours of video footage that proves it". Done !
@doodleguitarist Are you saying that because Jeff Beck,Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix can perform live and sound just like their albums they didn't know what they were doing? I guess all the time that musicians spend tuning up is worthless according to your philosophy.
@JeffBeckAndFriends I'm sorry, but if I am paying to go to a concert, I don't want to listen to what I can hear on a CD. Led Zeppelin were the best you could get live, that is why they were the greatest band in the world in the 70's... no-one could get near them. Anything you say can never change that, therefore you are wrong. Also at the Live Aid, that wasn't Led Zeppelin, anything after 1980 wasn't Led Zeppelin. No John Bonham means no Led Zeppelin, same goes to any member.
@JeffBeckAndFriends does a band need to sound like their album to be good? listen to any jazz artist, the grateful dead, phish, or any band with real musical substance. led zeppelin sounded amazing BECAUSE they didnt try to play exactly what you could here on a cd, they played LIVE music...idk about you but when i go to a concert, i wanna see some real live tunes, not the freakin album i've already heard 20 times. you're a dumbass, you know nothing about music. peace
@TheGtflDead The grateful dead were the most boring band ever !. And you claim to know music you dumb shit. If a band can't sound like their albums when they perform live then why make them. Boston is a perfect example of a band that could not sound like their albums and they died a quick death. Peace!
@JeffBeckAndFriends led zeppelin couldn't sound exactly like they did on their albums becouse jimmy recorded albums with two guitars, and you cant play two guitars at the same time, he was playng alone, and it's stupid too play it the same way, they were making history on stage, i don't see the same thing jeff did...
Jeff beck was absolutely amazing here and it is nice to see jimmy page step in but not take over but I hate how I can't find any videos of jimmy page soloing when he's old... Why doesn't he solo anymore????

I'd love to play that way but Id REALLY love to be able to think like they do when they play .
Always the consummate rocker- but beckers always had that rockstar class and pizzazz. He just exudes it. A rocker's rocker, if I may. Love that Pagey 'inducted' him, considering how they used to constantly rib each other in the old days, THANKS for the GREAT VID!!

I hate the talk of "who is better". If they each on their own or together inspired some and pleased others it's all good. It's all music and we're all here enjoying it.

Always the consummate rocker- but beckers always had that rockstar class and pizzazz. He just exudes it. A rocker's rocker, if I may. Love that Pagey 'inducted' him, considering how they used to constantly rib each other in the old days, THANKS for the GREAT VID!!

if the bass player impresses you, great take up the bass. you'll never be a guitar player

wow I am very impressed with the bass player and page. Still trying to understand the Beck fasanation.
lorenv96311 1 month ago
@lorenv96311 just give up then. if you can't understand beck, maybe the clarinet is a better instrument for you.
guitartornado 1 month ago
@lorenv96311 I find it odd that Page and the bass player impressed you when Beck is rocking the lead.
gladdingman 1 month ago
@gladdingman beck could not rock lead if page had not written the immigrant song..but i do not want to say that beck does not rock..they both do!!

I hate the talk of "who is better". If they each on their own or together inspired some and pleased others it's all good. It's all music and we're all here enjoying it.
