I would love to see a video demo of this pedal played through an amp like a Classic 30, or a Blues Jr. by a beginner to intermediate guitar player, wielding a squire or Epiphone guitar. It would be a more realistic approach to see how much better it would improve one's tone. You can plug a dead rat in between a hot rodded Les Paul and a boutique amp, hand it to a seasoned player like this guy, and probably still get a great tone.
Saying that is like saying you can't give a teenager a Porsche cuz he's not a race car driver.
I live in Marin County CA., where you see beginners playing top of the line guitars, amps, pedals etc.
Since when was the price tag on something was designed for playing levels? This pedal is another attempt at the Vox/Sola Tone Bender. You're paying for the graphics and the hand wiring.
Probably worth it. Hand-wired - it'll still be going 40 yrs from now, and easy to fix if it does break. Try that with a Boss DS-whatever with the cheap IC board and etc. You'll never regret buying pro-class tools. Not as your first purchase of course - Great Axe - Great Amp - then stomp boxes.
@wtfwasthatt As about the pedal, i really found it AWESOME. I usualy don't like fuzz pedals, because i always found their distortion noisy and without definition. But for the MKIII is a totally diferent fuzz! It really have a nice gain, able to play some hard rock, heavy metal. Maybe not so good for metal core or more heavy stuff... But still an awesome pedal! Always watching pgs videos!
Kind of a mix between a modern overdrive and a bit of distortion (like BOSS) and a small mix of a fuzz face. Fuzz seems a bit subtle in this pedal even with the fuzz level all the way up. It is not like those others where fuzz is all staticy and the tone is unclear when pushed to far. A pretty decent fuzz pedal over all, but maybe the money is in the quality, since the price is so high.
Simply awesome Burgs - awesome like a brand new Mercedes would be if I could afford one. ;-). Anyone who can't really should check out Basic Audio pedals. John's stuff is phenomenal and affordable. Don't forget to support PGS too though. They rock and are really nice guys.
400dlls too little to have people trashing when you play ace of spades and sounding as close to the record as it can get!!!! I don't know how but i'm buying it!!!!!
Expensive but hell it one of the best pedals i have heard. I have been thinking about fuzz for a while now and i may just buy this one. IT is much different than anything else. With my tax returns
@astro2069 If its right for you fine "buy right or buy twice" as the saying goes. But what's right for me is a versatile indestructible, reliable pedal as I live in Uganda, and the dust here gets everywhere + replacement parts are impossible to source. So i'm happy with my boss fuzz
The beginning is some sick Stoner Metal tone.

What kind of beginner would spend $400 on a pedal? This kind of gear is meant for advanced players.
