  • i never learned about pilots in fifth grade, all i learned about was Amelia Earhart, and that was from a story in Reading

  • I'm in 8th grade and i love jets and the air force and i didnt even know that and I asked my parents who were good at history in school and they didnt know

  • I knew it just because I read about it in a book.

  • those aint 5 graders thats just dwarfs in costumes

  • And they think 5th graders will know that? Maybe ones that go to a private school.

  • I'm a 50 year old dumd ass Austalian and within a second of seeing the question we all answered "Chuck" Yeager, probably depends on demographics but we live in a state where Bert Hinkler was born and aviation was a much taught subject as we all knew this from 3rd grade.

  • It happened during the whole race to put a man in space. He did it with a broken arm. They asked Yeager to be an astronaut but he was focused on beating the Russians in fighter jet tech. See the movie "The Right Stuff". It depicts all those guys. He also broke a Russian altitude record(he left earth's atmosphere) but it destroyed the plane.

  • lmfao nice discription ...hes prob white

    either way, wtf question

  • you racist description

  • well at least she 's hot

  • Dood, the question is not who knows it but... WHO CARES?!?!?!?!

  • [aused before answer I think he was in korea

  • Idiotic question... I think even the guy who made the question didn't knew it...

  • What 5th grader knows that? That's right. None.

  • this is a such a rip off question...5th grade question would be more like Christopher Columbus and shits...

  • I'm a sophomore in college and I've never learned this

  • Knew that right away, Yeager

  • duuuhh chuck yeager

  • how did i get from funny cats to this? youtube is weird

  • Im in 8th grade and we just learned this last week...

  • -.- stupid question

  • i wonder how many 5th grade teachers know this

  • WOW, AND SHE"S A BLOND!!

  • I knew this in the fifth grade. I knew about the X-1, Bell, Goddard, etc.

  • Haha, my smartypants husband says this is common knowledge.

  • @wlkgbrft1 well atleast one person in your marriage is smarter than an evil little monkey

  • Boy, are her parents really tired.

  • are you smarter than a very attentive 5th grader who also reads for leisure outside of class

  • that guys looks like a pedophile

  • Stephen Hawking didnt even know this as a 5th grader

  • why jeff foxworthy?

  • Since when did the US have history?

  • i asked my history teacher. and he didnt even know.

    5th grade my ass.

  • @KkaylaJjanes well you must have a one dumb teacher than. that is almost like not knowing who was the first american in space. so much for the US education system and those teaching in it lmao let me guess he knows how earth was created 168 hours :D

  • @walkinondamoon1 wow, your comment was the stupidest most pathetic comment that i have ever read, no one care about the first person to match the speed of sound in an airplane. And the american educational system and those who teach it was the best

  • @KkaylaJjanes I knew Chuck Yeager from the get-go. I actually thought it was a really simple question. My 29 year old wife would know this as well.

Chuck flew in the Bell X-1 nicknamed Glamorous Glennis in '45, if I am not mistaken. It was not really an airplane though, as much as a rocket with wings.

  • @CragarShinoda yeah, I knew right away I could google it as well

  • They could've rephrased the question to "Who was the first pilote that travelled faster than 340 m / s in air?"

  • They make it like this so there's a small chance the contestant will win, so im guessing :s

No 5th grader would know this lol

  • The only reason I knew this in fifth grade is because I have always been obsessed with aviation. I also thought the Bell X-1, that little orange jet, was one of the coolest looking planes ever :)

  • I am a senior and I don't even know any of the people she talked about -__-

  • There's not a chance any fifth grader in the world knows this. I'm in 11th grade and I don't know this, plus when I was in fifth grade I was still shitting in my pants during naptime

  • Wow, which 5th grader can answer that? Oh and very stressed parents. x_x

  • no 5th graders know this

  • at 4:00 it looks like little olive off of Ant Farm

  • @madisondawnstone it is her, sierra mccormick [she plays olive]

  • I learned this in Pre-Physics in 9th grade...WHAT 5TH GRADER KNOWS THIS?!

  • @XxKakikomiAddictxX Well, I dunno. I learned that Charles Lindburgh (sp?) was the first man to make a solo trans-Atlantic flight when I was way younger than fifth grade...

  • @kiraina25 You mus have a really good memory :) I forget stuff I learned last month in school xD

  • @XxKakikomiAddictxX I know it from reading that one book about Amelia Earhart about a hundred times when I was a kid. x3 I recall perfectly some of the weirdest bits of trivia...

  • Chuck Yeager?? :P

  • @kato093

Well proud or not you speak like a retard. Sound of speed?

What does speed sound like again?

Words when you want to make a sentence with them need to be in the right order, just a thought. Enjoy your life in Europe.

  • EPIC FAIL!!!

  • We're about to play for $680,000 If you count the taxes!

  • @OnehandedAbortionist there is no taxes on lottery winnings.. -facepalm-

  • "THATS ALL RIGHT." WHO THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU'RE KIDDING.

  • Technically it is not Chuck Yeager, he is the first one to exceed it in level flight however in ww2 Pilots in a vertical dive did at times exceed the sound barrier this would usually result in a black out and death but it did happen none the less

  • CHUCK YEAGER!!!!

  • god this question is SO EASY! This is a million dollar question? Seriously?

  • Look on 4:01 is that Sierra McCormick when she was young? I'd feel stupid to ask this question if it's wrong.

  • @porkinwitz I just got done with 5th grade a year ago I'm 12 and I never learned that.

  • @10trent33

Do you know how many dumbasses I've see nsay this. Not EVERY question is going to be taught in EVERY school. But none of them are questions that have never been taught to a 5th grader.

  • DAMMIT ROSS!!!

  • all you hush up, i knew this in 5th grade...

  • In finland you can win only like 25.000€ -.-

  • @HockeyGamer94 cause there are too many people who in fact are smarter than 5th grader.

  • Chuck yager guy....

  • I'm in high school, and I haven't learned that yet!

  • They don't teach that shit in 5th grade

  • @fraatziMaN44 Indeed.. They grab a bunch of smart 5th graders, teach them the answers before the show, and then send them out there... Most times they remember, sometimes they dont...

  • @fraatziMaN44 They dont teach that shit in school

  • @slayer1112911 Im leaning on my left arm, but close enough.

  • @slayer1112911 Took me about 35 seconds but I got. I knew his first name but was thinking his last name was: Eager, Ligar, Weaver...

P.S. I'm leaning on my right arm.

  • @slayer1112911 how the fuck did you know that? hahahahaha

  • @justibisnotfag they knew that you were leaning on your left hand cause most people are right handers and cause you use the mouse on your right hand you lean on your left

  • @gahooyoogleh hahahaha smart

  • @slayer1112911 thumbs up if your hand was somewere else >=]

  • @slayer1112911 No im leaing on my left elbow.

  • @mistyisgood123 Chuck Norris doesn't need a plane.

  • 5:23 My name is Dave yognaught, and I have the BALLS.

  • that's complete bullshit.

  • Why is this on "E!"?

  • A) 99% of 5th graders wouldn't know the answer to that question and I'm sure 90% of adults wouldn't know either

    B) What the hell does that have to do with American history? Just because Chuck Yeager was American?

  • @zoor90 What do think Chuck Yeager built his own private plane to break the sound barrier? This was a huge project taken on by the U.S. Army/U.S. Airforce that unfortunately, as most project's do, the pilot gets most of the credit. Retard

  • @Skaagarak

So because the government bankrolled it, it counts as national history instead of science?

J K Rowling was given a grant by the British government when writing Harry Potter. Does that mean that a question on Harry Potter would be an appropriate addition to a British History category?

  • @zoor90 What are you, stupid? It wasn't a project funded by the US government, it was a project taken on by the US government. We're talking like 1944-1948, a couple years after WWII (Germans were also into supersonic). This was a major step forward aeronautics and paved the way for the rest of the X planes (including the X-15 which achieved speeds of mach 5 or for your tiny brain 5 times the speed of sound), and the X planes paved the way for landing on the moon. This isn't a children's book.

  • does anyone else get a huge sense of awesomeness when they know the questions

  • @gydeme yeah when the question was shown on the board i was like "OH I KNOW THAT YES IM SIGNING UP FOR THIS SHOW!!!" lol

  • @gydeme this show is inaccurate, if you were smaetER than a fifth grader, you would be answering sixth grade questions, but I don't think anyone could win a lawsuit for false advertising.

  • @gydeme Usually when they know the answers rather than the questions.

  • These questions are unrealistically hard...

  • In fifth grade I don't even remember learning what a sound barrier was.
