  • JEeeze... i just realized by looking at this vid again that you TAGGED me... i didn't notice that before. Ok, I'll see what if, i can do it. ummm.. So, that's why you didn't talk to me, thought i was snubbing you eh?? Liz

  • This is such a great way to get to fill in some of the gaps here on YouTube. Considering how long you've lived and worked in Germany your accent is amazingly unchanged. Loved your curtains in one shot sorry off topic, running a fever. Cheers, Lesley

  • I hope you're feeling better soon, Lesley! The curtains (from Ikea) are down to my partner. He does all the soft furnishings. To be honest, I'm missing that gay gene (and the shopping one) ;)

My accent, deceivingly, has changed - it's got posher. I think that's from being away for so long and being too fond of period plays ;-) My brother talks with a Yorkshire accent! LOL! Thanks for watching. And commenting! :-)

  • i bet i'm more disorganized than you! we would get along just fine.

    your new subscriber,

    josie

  • I bet we'd get along like a house on fire (which is the only way my paperwork is going to get 'sorted') ;-)

Thanks for the sub, Josie. Welcome aboard.

    Nathan

  • fantastic and informative, a lovely documentary.

cheers to you, tail and all:)

  • Thanks, Joe! Great to see you, my friend.

  • I missed this~LOL at the tastebuds! I can relate on disorganized. I just cleaned kitchen cupboards and found stuff that expired 2/06!

    Yeah!

  • I now have a fastidious partner who cleans out my drawers (ooer, missus!) but before he came along I couldn't even read the expiry dates for mould ;-)

  • This is one of the best 5-fact videos I have seen!

  • That is very high praise indeed. Thank you, Marihani. And thanks for the sub - I hope it's not all downhill from here ;-)

  • It won't be. I did check out more of your vids before subbing. I ain't stoopid, you see! ;-D

  • I dread to think I could ever suggest such a thing! :-D

  • well now arent you charming and handsome.ur not old i'm glad yournot a little girl you make a cuter guy.

  • I answered this one a couple of days ago but my reply is gone :-o I wouldn't mind - but it's my favourite comment EVER. I've never been called charming, handsome AND cute before - and all in one breath :-) Welcome aboard, Bryan :)

  • Fact number 2 was fucking awesome! A farmer father who frequently says fuck.

I am also unorganized. Looks like you live in a fabulous attic apartment.

  • Haha - he does when he's mad... but he's in his mid 70's now and it's not good for his blood pressure ;)

I'm not that far off the ground actually, it's a small farm house and my sister and her family live downstairs - which is great when she needs a babysitter :-)))

  • I think you're beautiful blonde hair was gorgeous, I especially loved the Little Lord Fontleroy hair :) The tastebud thing I can relate to it's exactly something I would do :) You're facts were really interesting :)

  • Bless ya, Deb! I thought of you today - was in Roermond and saw a café called Minniver.. didn't have my camera with me or I'd have snapped it :) I'm glad to know that I'm not alone in my clutziness (regarding taste bud thing) :-)

  • Oooh... if I were younger I would have plotted to "confiscate" that sign :)

  • Now this was fun!

I love it and cannot believe it is actually you in all those old (ancient really... lol) pics!

    Good job Nathan!

    ; -)

  • Great to hear from you, Ron! Even if it is to give me a dig in the ribs once again. LOL. At least you didn't mention my ancient face ;-) x

  • I laughed so hard at your panic attack when discovering your taste buds. That is exactly the sort of thing that has plagued me, my whole life.

  • I felt a right fool, I can tell you! But I was was very relieved that it was only a sore throat and not the plague ;)

  • I was most entertained by your lovely facts! Rags on heads... you and Curt ;O)

  • Hi Cindy (and a belated Happy New Year to you!) :-) You spotted it! It was Curts rags on his heads that reminded me of that photo. To Curt it may have been a mere rag but to me that yellow scarf was flowing golden tresses. LOL! Thanks for your lovely comment!

  • You were the cutest 5 year old cross dresser! LOL

Loved the different hair styles there too! That little tail was quite something...i remember that style and was very happy to see it go! :)

Great video Nathan; I wouldn't say it makes you boring at all!

  • 'Cross dresser' - that is funny. The tail did look a bit naff in retrospect - but at the time I thought it was the bees knees! Thanks, Gary :-)

  • Hey Nathan, thanks for the life-tour, with all the interesting (yes) changes and make-overs. You did some great editing btw! cheers, Jeroen.

  • Thanks, Jeroen. I had fun doing it. I somehow copied the title "Uninteresting Fact 1" into the 5th part - and left it because it was about being disorganised. LOL. I appreciate your comments :)

  • ha ha well I must admit that until about 6 or 7 I had long flowing blonde hair and was mistaken for a pretty little girl once... d'oh!

  • Ah, the beauty of youth. Still, it evens out - we gut older and wrinklier but we get wiser. Well, some of us do. We're the exceptions to the rule ;-)

  • Nathan I just watched this video again, and I can't stop smiling. It is really funny when you mention the trip to the doctor. And I love the song at the end.

Did I see a fish tank in the background shot?

  • Back when I was wearing freaky hairstyles and/or yellow scarves on my head, I wasn't well known for laughing at myself - but it's something I actually enjoy now. It was pretty stupid of me. LOL!!

It is a fish tank - but it's got two gerbils in it. My niece suddenly found herself with 14 of the little critters and she managed to save them being fed to her stepfather's snake. She saved these two by begging her uncle to take them. They're no bother though and really quite cute :)

  • Love that 80's hair Nathan.

I used to have hair half way down my back in the late 70's. I think i only grew it that long because it annoyed so many people!! :)

  • It certainly annoyed my parents. My mother kept marching me into town and I kept running away. In the end she gave up :-) My hair never grew longer than my shoulder blades - it would just fall out after that and eventually no hair grew in it's place so off it all came. *sob* ;-)))

  • those hair styles very new romantic wernt they i was a punk with a skinhead meself

  • That doesn't surprise me at all Stuart.

Although i liked the Punk music, my hair was still pretty long.

It's gradually got shorter over the years :)

  • If I went back to that age with everything I know now, I'd probably have been a punk too .. but then I'd have had a big pink mohican. LOL.

  • not very bright, your a shining star in my book.take it easy man

  • Thanks, Stu. Part of one of the definitions of star is "a large gaseous body", so I won't blush ;-) You're a beacon on YouTube yourself, mate. :)

  • The taste buds story is priceless! hahaha After being awakened with such "love", I think that would be end of any love of the farm for me...:-) Some wonderful facts there. Blue hair...LOVE it! I have already been tagged, so this will be my 5th, that I know of! LOL I'm off to add your name to the description of the vid! :-)

  • I spotted your video when I logged in - before I got to here - and commented that I WANT TO HEAR THAT SINGLE! :-))) I loved the blue hair too - but can't find a single photo - that's because I'm so disorganised. D'oh! :)

  • I go through stages of organization. The good part about being unorganized that I have found is when you find something it's like getting a gift! So when those pictures with the blue hair surface again, it will be a gift you can share with all of us, your wicked, sexy self with blue hair!! :-)

  • That's true .. when I do start to tidy up, I find things that I'd lost and I get distracted by them so that I never actually do any tidying up ;)

Don't remember the last time anyone said I was sexy. You just made my day, Caylyn ;-) xxx

  • hahaha I sooo understand that distraction! I think I have late onset A.D.D....LOL But the distraction is always welcome for me! :-)

As for the wickedly sexy part, I'm just stating the facts...:-)

  • Aaaah. Thanks :-) (I'm having this part of the comments section printed on a T-Shirt) ;-)

I have A.D.D. too - but funnily enough, I first noticed it when I was 16.. so I reckon it must have been that Frida haircut ;-)

  • You were a lovely little girl. But I'm glad you changed your mind upon being called one because you grew up to be a charming, brilliant, talented and witty man! I could listen to you all day - you have a perfect voice and a real knack for storytelling - a rare gift.

    Thanks for the hair tour!

    xox

  • Lesley, you make me blush - and give me a warm glowing feeling (probably pride or conceit) ;) You make me want to abandon my stiff upper lip and gush all sorts of things about how wonderful you are. Love ya! xxx

  • hes one of me favs x

  • Okay, now you're making me blush. LOL

  • Ah so now I am armed with lots of deeply personal sekrits about you that no-one else knows - the other 50 something views were just you checking the quality of the upload right? Well I won't tell anyone they are safe with me! Great video - love listening to your voice - you should work for the BBC!

  • I don't know what happened to the video quality in the first few seconds.. weird that (the original footage is fine - just the upload made it do that) - so it probably was me just checking it .. and marvelling at my prettiness as a child ;-) If I get a job at the BBC, I shall be able to pay the money you're demanding to remain silent about my secrets ;-)))

  • Haa! You were a verrrryyy beautiful uhmmm, youngin...enjoyed ze show :D

And you are NOT a grumpy ole man! Stop that!

Thx, Oh Great spiffy middle aged talented one, I shall have some fun doing mah 5 for you :)

  • :-D I'm glad you accept the challenge, Oh Great Goddess Of All Things Flakey. I can hardly wait .. and I haven't forgotten that you've tagged me too. That's the next one I'll be doing :)

  • Ah, my ears and eyes are salivating. I agree, you have a great voice, so mellow and pleasant to listen to, and are talented at telling ze stories for us...hehe, and mums the word; Sainter is in for some uhm, ear shattering lol :D

  • LOL That was far from uninteresting. I enjoyed that!

    ST

  • Then I'm content, ST. As your videos and recommendations are guaranteed to be enjoyable. Thanks :-)

  • A tail on the side, well I'll be dipped! I had one myself back in 1987, and did the colored bangs as well. I don't remember if I was consciously influenced by Frida, but it's quite possible.

And your rendition of "I Am Just A Girl" is terrific! I had to play the video again just to hear it.

Very creative approach, Nathan. Excellent job and not at all boring!

  • Everyone had those tails in the nape of the neck over here.. I copied Frida 'cause she was sooo cool. Then a barber chopped into it by accident and I had to cut it off *sob*. I made the IAJAG rendition about 5 years ago on the computer by speeding up the original and jazzing up the lyrics (most of it made little sense). I still like the arrangement I did on it even though it's not very well executed (anything is an improvement on the original) ;-) I'll send it to you if you like.

  • By all means, I'd love to have a copy. My regular email address has changed about 100 times thanks to the recent moves, so I'll PM you here with it.

And ditto on the original. Soooo non-ABBA like and - let's face it - the darn thing didn't do much to help with the womens liberation movement. LOL!

  • On it's way :) There were a few politically incorrect lyrics by Abba - just look at dum(b) dum(b) diddle ;-)

  • you're just as cute now as you were when you were a little girl....

  • Thanks, Penn. Your dry-witted one-liners crack me up every time. x

  • Nathan you're NOT boring. This was a very entertaining video. Hey, when I was little I wished I was a boy. Mostly because I hated wearing dresses (and still do). And, when I was in the 5th grade and the nurse gave us girls the talk about getting our period. I prayed to God to turn me into a boy. It didn't work. LOL

  • You're too kind, JoAnn. Thanks :-) I would have thought you'd like dresses as you dress for comfort - and dresses must be very comfortable.. and cool in the summer :) I bet your husband is glad that god ignored your plea ;-)

  • I think dresses are more comfortable for men, because their man bits can hang free. LOL. That's the appeal of the kilt, right? I always liked pants because they had pockets, and also I could climb on the monkey bars at school and the boys couldn't see my panties. I was always about being practical and comfortable from a very young age :-)

  • wow lol

  • That *is* practical. Though if one's man bits hang free one is likely to sit on 'em. Hahahaha.

  • OUCH!@*! LOL

  • Fact #6 I know someone who is more messy than you, and I didn't think this was boring Natan (:

  • I'm lucky that I have a partner who tidies up after me... otherwise, I'd be too embarrassed to film in my home ;-) Thanks, Matthias!

  • hahahhahaa Taste buds! I remember being frightened the first time i saw them! I didn't go running to the Dr but I was freaked lol!! This was bloody brilliant!

  • I'm betting that you were much younger than 30, Pip. I really should be embarrassed - but on the other hand, how often does one shove ones tongue out to it's furthest extent in front of a mirror? ;-)

  • OK, I learned something new - I never knew we had taste buds in our throats - I thought they were all on our tongues.

  • LOL. No, you didn't learn anything new - except that I'm a little bit freaky, perhaps. I said that I was 'examining my throat' but that I found (what I later learned to be) tastebuds 'on the back of my tongue' :-)

  • Well then, I learned that I need to wear a hearing aid! (Geez, Elaina ;‹)

  • If you are the most organized male, then I'll take the female award for that. I have a habit of taking a laundry basket and putting papers in there that I don't know what to do with. Then when the basket is full, I'll painfully go thru the papers and discard as many as possible! lol

  • My comment disappeared on this one - strange. I simply wrote that you beat me because you 'painfully go thru' them, whereas I just shut them away in boxes ;-) x

  • Nathan, there is nothing boring about you! You were a beautiful little girl...erm boy! You reminded me of that song "There's Something Going On" when you were talking about your haircut! I must look that up later! I always loved it.

  • You're a darling, Lisa. I was beautiful, I think. I can even remember looking in the mirror and thinking so. I avoid mirrors these days and assume the role of grumpy old man because it fits my face ;-) Frida rocks! xxx

  • lol

  • jajaja

i love the beeping :op F*CK

you lost your hair? where is it? *looks under Nathan's bed*

young, free and single... aww those were the days!

you? disorganized? No wonder you lost your hair

  • Jajajaja! That is funny. I'm not sure that I actually lost my hair, to be honest. It just grows out of my ears, my nose, and on my arse these days ;-)

  • NATHAAAAAAAAAAAAN.. I don't even know what to write , I'm still laughing at your comment

I'll send you the Mega Nose Hair Clipper 2000

(I was going to buy you the Mega Nose Hair Clipper 2008 ...but this one was cheaper)

  • Hee hee. Skinflint! :-) I hate trimming ear and nasal hair - but a man's got to do what a man's got to do :-)))

  • Silly guy - taste buds hahaha

  • That really is embarrassing! I'd just not stuck my tongue out that far before - at least not in front of a mirror ;-)

I am so disorganised, that I was sure that I had subscribed back to you!! I have rectified my dizzyness! :-)

  • :-)

  • Interesting vid (at least I think so)!

I think I like your father, hahaha

  • LOL! I can see that freaking some people out. These days, I'm very happy that I wasn't a little girl ... I even lift my arse to fart and everything! :-)

You would like my dad - he's an evil bastard! ;-)

  • Love, love, LOVE all the hairstyles! We have a lot in common, but at least you made the attempt to organize the disorganized papers in tidy little boxes!

  • LOL. The funny thing is, is that I didn't make any attempt. Him Indoors put it all in boxes and even attempted sorting it all... he gave up too but at least it LOOKS tidy.

Your saying that we have much in common is a great compliment! Thank you :-) xxx

  • LOL...a little girl? No wonde you are so damned HOT!!:P

Nice pic of you at 2.08. Very Duran Duran.

I'm with you on being disorganized, then again, there is something to be said for it. If I straightened things up i'd be totally lost. Better to play it safe, fling it all up in the air and relax.

A superb vlog pizza with the lot. :)

  • LOL. Thank you, Wayne. I rather think I borrowed my sister's lip gloss too for that shot at 2:08 *haha*. I mourn my HOTNESS as I mourn my hair :-)

I like your attitude to being organised. When I was still single, the paperwork was literally where it landed. The other half put it into boxes and it has never seen the light of day since ;-)

  • I was thinking 2.08 was slightly more ...Flock of Seagulls. :-*

  • Ah yeah Flock of Seagulls...or Spandau Ballet?

  • Yes!!!

  • LOL!!! Nooo. It was FRIDA! You know - the redhead from .. shhhh-you-know-who (can't say the name of the band in front of Wayne without him gettng all excited) ;-)

I boycotted Spandau Ballet when I read that their name was a Nazi term for the 'dance' gun-downed jews made in the Spandau concentration camp. I doubt that they realised that though.

  • ...learn something new every day! I swear.

  • A HAAA, I was wondering why my ears started bleeding!! "Can you hear the drums F-F-Fernando" rolls eys*

I think the Spandau Ballet kiddies only knew that "Spandau" was a concentration camp not the other part. They obviously thought using a location ofNazi atrocity was a kind of hip and rad thing to do. Then they grew up...I think.

  • I think you're right, Wayne.

There was something in the air that night,

it smelled of shite, Fernando ;-)
