  • "Constructing a Home Studio." I think it's called that cos it could actually be a home it's so fucking extensive. I know I'd live in it.

  • @tdwp1992 your home is your property your house is where you live

  • The rockwool alone would have been thousands of dollars, let alone the 51 neve. can't believe you're not gonna record in that space, wonderful space.

  • Looking forward to seeing the finished studio, drop by and say hi sometime :-)

  • so uhhh where do u sleep? lol

  • Great stuff. Private studios / music rooms are great fun for the work invested and they effect many people positively!.

  • look like a weed plantation warehouse...nah only jokin its a factory studio and i am very jelous sir!

  • Do you have any problems with noise from the out side rain drops? how good overhead insulation have to be made to insure proper noiseless studio like that. Nice idea of the out side huge structure!

  • Wow impressive, but I wouldn't call it a home studio :)

  • @capemedia haha.. you stole my words.. ;)

  • home studio, that's a musical factory, change the title man,a home studio is made in a room not a manchion:))

  • That is what you call a studio home not a home studio :D

  • haha exactly, studio home, it's HUGE. .haha

  • It's big pimpin'...

  • Home studio?

  • lol... 100 000$ "home" studio.... noob its not home studio its pro!

  • Well materials like Plywood absorb Bass/Lower Frequencies, where as Rockwool and pourus material absorb Higher frequenies. That should help you with you sound absorbtion material.

But for insulation and pure sound proofing etc you should check other sites for info about building a studio

  • no huntsmen in nz

  • Do i hear NZ?

  • Fucking Sho off!! use a hoe

  • you can if u have the money..lol and u would too if u did. the point is, is that its a recording studio inside the home built t make music in the home.

  • how much did this cost

  • You are a troll. Go die now.

  • I bet its like huntsman central in there

  • That's only a little bigger than the average home studio :-)

  • Nice one, been wanting to put a small home studio in for ages, just my luck to stumble onto this when I'm finally looking for hints on how to do it. It looks so easy I don't know why I hadn't done it sooner.. I think I'll pop one in under my stars right now!

  • my dream

  • nz?

  • Fuck it...that's not a HOME studio.

  • Home studio?! Nice joke...

  • Technically, it could be. A home studio is just a studio at a persons home. It is commonly used as a secondary work environment for musicians and/or engineers. Ever seen Van Halen's "home studio"?

What it is not is a project studio, which is primarily for pro-sumer or semi-pro personal use.

  • I'm not an expert on these things but would'nt the wood bourded wall's reflect the sound alot??

  • Its where they reflect the sound to thats important.

  • no it absorbes it

  • The wood on the walls (which I suspect if MDF) will not absorb anything but very low frequencies.

  • Awesome! What a beautiful view, too!

i wish we had something like that where I live. That would be wonderful.

Can't wait to see the next video!

  • Sound Foam! Plenty of sound foam placed in the right spots can really help out!

    -G

  • And too much could screw it all up!!! haha

It's tricky until you get it right.

  • How?

  • The foam takes away from the natural reverb and acoustics of the room, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't use it...just don't over use it!

  • Ohh, ok. I get it....a little bit.

  • Foam removes the high frequencies but won't stop your neighbours from complaining if the sound bleeds through).

What you do inside the studio is damping - you make sure the walls do not reflect unwanted frequencies (a concrete cellar is probably the worst place to put a studio).

What you do with the studio and the outside is isolation - which makes sure that when you're standing outside, you're not hearing anything. There's basically an entire branch of materials science devoted to this :).

  • Ohh...Ok, NOW I get it.

  • check out the sound on sound vids. Its a far better recording mad than audio tech

  • Does any body know the best way to sound proof a room or cut down the amount of sound coming from the room. I can not take out the wall so that is out of the Question. The room in question is about 150 to 200 sq feet I am using KRK V6 Monitors. Thanks for the help.

  • You should check out my studio construction videos, you might get a kick out of them :)
