I can't say i like the front end styling of the new Matrix. Something I think everyone would appreciate is a locking glove compartment. I do like the utility space in the car, plus, I like the engine.

pedals dont kill people, stupid people kill people, like I work for a dealer and when cosumers arive I see that at least 1/10 costumers have their floormat all crumpled up between the pedals, that right there is thir own negligence if they kill themselves by not being able to brake, ofcourse I fix it for them, but some dont have thos mat hooks so nothing I can do to help there

Toyota has this vehicle to be a more versitile version to its brother the Corolla. I owned a 2004 Toyota Matrix and It was great on gas. I love the utility of it. Hockey bags and sticks go in no problem. But to compare it to the PT cruiser or the Chevy HHR, are you kidding me. This car is way better on gas and looks way better. The Price for what you get it great. RELIABILITY and RESALE VALUE is why I would buy one again.

Toyota needs to put more quality back into the Matrix, I have the AWD version and it's too noisy on the highway and uses way too much gas than posted in the Brochure ... My next car won't be a Matrix even though I like the styling and utility of this car.

The blind spot is a fallacy. I've adjusted my mirrors so I don't have any blind spot, and I don't have to move my head further than looking at my mirrors, making it much safer. Your car should NOT be visible in your mirrors and you'll see everything behind you.

Unfortunately, some of the new designs (like the new Matrix) give the driver far less visibility. Regardless of that you are right about mirror adjustment.

This car is really nice! But when I went to the dealership to look at one there is a freakin big ass blind spot! So i went with the corolla it has a blind spot as well but not as big as the matrix. Hope I made a good choice.

i tested this car for over an hour...i loved everything except trying to get on the highway...it was the worst scenario i ever experienced...she wouldnt answer the gas pedal until she felt like it...i passed on buying it

I had the same problem with my 2007 RAV4 so I traded it in for a 2008 VW GTI and now I never fear merging on the highway. And I'm getting better MPG's.

You guys debating the differences between the Vibe and Matrix over quality are retarded.

There aren't any differences, get your facts straight. NUMMI employees are Toyota-trained and build Toyota vehicles, the partnership dates back from the Geo days.

Honda's the only responsible for its transmission failures, it has nothing to do with the assembly site. Same goes for everything that failed on your car.

The RX isn't made in Canada.

The concept of the car is great.

The design is questionable.

The build quality is nothing to write about on either version, aside from the gaps.

The platform is dated and feels like shit on anything bigger than 16" rims.

Economically speaking only, if you need a car like this you should pick the Vibe, simply because it's slightly better bang for the buck and the warranty will cover the problems, if any.

I'll stick to superior quality Canadian-made cars like the Corolla/Matrix/Lexus RX. I mistakenly bought a new (american-made) 03 Accord, which resulted in a failed transmission, failed HVAC/stero, failed throttle body. The LAST time i'll ever buy an america made car, ever. Canadian cars FTW!
