  • This language is so difficult but awesome. I wanna learn it ;A;

  • Finnish language sounds interesting. It sounds clearer than hungarian language. I also heard a finnish folk song - it sounded really epic :)

  • OMG!!

kuka, means trashbin in hungarian and is prounced exactly the same way.

Saanko, means sledge and is prounced the same way again!

    I love finnish!

  • Samoin sinulle!

  • HIM

  • wow I've just realize that if I read an Italian word starting from the end it sounds like finnish !

  • Thank you very very much! These lessons are very useful! Paljonko kiitoksia!

  • great video, i'll try to learn it... My opinion is that finnish is unique language and it's not similar to any other language.... that's why i like it

  • I think it has similarities with at least saami, estonian, hungarian and turkish...it is in that sence no more unique than say swedish or norwegian. Only basque or maybe kurdish are "unique"...or is it that kurdish is an indoeuropean language with more related languages?

  • Im from finland. Im speaking now finland: hei kaikki Amerikkalaiset ja muut , muuten minä en pidä Venäjäläisistä. in english: Hi all Americans and others, by the way i dont like Russians.

    Keitän teitä!

  • @MyTamang: Hahaha I'm sorry but I couldn't help myself but laugh :D Keitän teitä means "I boil you", the correct sentence is "kiitän teitä"

  • I knew that! ;-))

  • You should not be kidding like this here :-D

  • @janeyre it does not sound russian at all, it sounds more like greek. That was my very first impression of the finnish language.

  • I was doing good and then 1:17 happened. All the a's frighten me. But I will not give up!

  • Does any one know if "teach yourself finnish" is any good?

  • It isn't very good to teach yourself any language first you ARE almost 100% get wrong pronounciation second it's more fun to learn with others.

IF I do what I want to do at the moment I will move to finland for 3-4 years in awhile.

  • Przecież te nagrania są wzięte z kursu podstawowego fińskiego, wydawnictwa EDGARD!! O_o

  • We are passing through Helsinki and so thank you for your lessons

  • I am trying to learn Finnish and I think your videos are great!

    Kiitos! ;o)

  • Haaaard. x_x

At least the pronunciation is very similar.

    I loved the video. ;D

  • Very good lesson! Kiitos

  • Yep, video on kiva. Luulen että, you´ll become famous amoung user if you made some puhekieli lessons.

Also, I think Spanish native speakers can do great in Finnish. I am one of them,

    Terveisin Perusta ja kiitos

  • ohh.. seriously? :O .. I am native spanish speaker, I thought it would be very hard. :D

  • how do you say "the old woman of the eight personalities who plays with the mental structure time"

  • se kahdeksan persoonan vanha nainen joka leikkii mielen rakenteen ajalla

  • @nachoooo

actually it's "kahdeksanpersoonainen vanha nainen, joka leikkii mielen rakenteen ajalla"

  • The Cheers is very important in Finland, isn´t it??

    XD

  • naja, i don't think so that it is very important :D

  • I hear "Your Sweer 666" by HIM at the very beginning.

  • I were in Finland and i loved that country so thank you for the Finnish lesson its an amazing language!!!!!

    Kiitos!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Oletkö suomalainen tai puolalainen?

Czy jesteś finnem czy polakiem/polką? Jestem anglikiem a uczę się polskiego (a bardzo chciałbym się uczyć fińskiego). Uwielbiam te dwa języki, bo polski jest pełen kiści spółgłosek z kilku samogłosek, a fiński jest pełen samogłosek z kilku spółgłosek. :-)

  • lovely, now I've seen some more, and I love it...

    :D

    Great idea..

  • Kiitos!! hey i got a question, everyone says that Finnish language is really hard for foreigners to learn... do u really think that a Spanish speaking person would be able to learn it?, i mean i love Finnish for sure, i just wonder ^^ thx!.

  • Hm. Why not? The results depend of your attitude. If you want know finnish and you are determined - you can. ;) Grammar isn't hard (I will try write something about it in next lesson). Practice, practice and practice only.

  • Kiitoksia Maija, I think you are right, its about practice and practice more, the sad thing is that here in my country i just cant find anything about Finnish, no books, no dictionaries, no nothing, luckyly we've got internet, right??!! thats the only way for now, haha... thx again ^^

  • Si puedo hablar español, puedes hablar finlandés tambien! Our pronounciation is quite the same, biggest differences are maybe that your 'll' in llamar f.ex is said like our 'j', and your 'j' is said like our 'h' and your ü is our u. And ofc you dont have 'ö' and 'ä' letters, but you'll learn them quickly if you just want :) the grammar in spanish is hard for me because you have so many verbclasses, we've only got 5, so lucky you. And you say things kind of upside down compared to ours :)

  • @MaijaValo

    Hei!

Will it be correct to say in Finnish: Kuinka monella kielellä tiedät, että monta kertaa olet henkilö (how many languages you know that many times you are a person)?

Or maybe you have some other expression?

    Thank you for the answer!

  • deberias hacer los videos en castellano también estan muy wenos!!!

  • @Darianka7565 Yes u believe it is easier to learn for spanish speaking people than english speaking people or anyother non-romantic (as in from the roman latin) or germanic tongue speaker. I know so because I am Puertorican (Olen puertoricolainen) thus a native spanish speaker and i have found it easy to learn, also ive been very determined to learn since I am planning ton moving to Finland to study in Helsinki since the person im with is Finnish (Suomalainen) =)
