  • What a wonderful talent mr. Keel was. I always liked him. This is a beautiful rendition of this song. Thanks for this post. It is such a bittersweet song. he acts every single word that he sings so brilliantly.

  • Where is the "Love" button?

  • Wow...he looks and sounds amazing!

  • my god he just owned the music in this. amzing perfomance

  • I love howard.. bless his voice and family after wards.. I won,t send roses

  • I saw hin twice in concert!! Brilliant.-RIP

  • What a marvellous non-love love song. It is fun to see how Keel acts the song as well as sings it: others I've seen on YouTube sing it without acting the role.

  • @Arkelk2010 NICE comment ! ! There are singers, there are performers, & a gifted few who are both. Petula Clark was another, yet without the magic of the music of Tony Hatch . . . .so much has to fall in place just right.

I've playlisted 320 artists worldwide where I hear & feel the magic & 111 more playlists cover every year since 1900. No other channel can lead you through a century of pop music. HEAPS of thanks to rphull for posting this! Howard was one in a million.

  • What a song !

  • Howard Keel Was Also In Dallas.

  • I had no idea he had ever sung this song. It is gorgeous. Thanks for sharing!

  • 2 legends.. Bruce Forsyth, from Britain and Howard from 'across the pond'... ahhh bliss :0)x

  • I absolutely love this song ever since watching Torvill & Dean skate to it back in the 80's.

  • Keel was a famous B'way star in many musicals, and agreat performer in H'wood. His role in Kiss Me Kate was one of his best. It's available on DVD, I think. This song from Mack and Mabel was perfect for him, though Robert Preston, who song the role of Harold Hill in Music Man, originated this on B'way with Bernadette Peters. Great show.

  • he inspired me to sing.check out gypwin

  • A legend !! we must remember these entertainers - wish i had seen him in concert

  • @1BlackGold1 I have, he was brilliant, a gentleman throughout, even when people continued to take photo's AFTER he had given everyone a photo op. He mildly rebuked them, & one of the people taking the photo's applauded! His voice was still worth listening to, knew his limitations compared to his younger days, but still a great nights entertainment.

  • His lower range changed a bit, but his upper notes are just the same. Dreamy. :)

  • Oh My God!!!.... Thank You so Much for sharing this!; I`m a Big Fan of this Man, since 1988!!!!

  • Marvellous interpretation of a classic. The finish as previous posters have said is beautiful.

  • Great singing by a great singer. Too bad he's not amongst us any more. He was one of the greats...

  • Hi Maureen, Thank's a lot for the tip, I found many Pagan Love Songs there and enjoy them.x Jozefien

  • Fantastic, what a song and how brilliantly performed.

  • Hello, is there anybody who can help me??

I am looking for the song: Pagan Love Song, by Howard Keel and Esther Williams from the film with the same tittle.

Please if possible on You Tube.

It brings me back to so much memory's

Thanks a lot for posting it.

  • hello there..hope this helps you..i went to wikapedia and just typed inpagan love song, and there it was....enjoy your memories.x maureen

  • One of the greats. I miss him still!

  • a great loss.i met him once...exciting entertainer.jack english..hollwood

  • He sings in a lower key than all the others so I can just about sing along with him cos I'm a bass. Al the others are tenors and its harder to hit the high notes

  • This is the original key. The song was composed for a low voice. Enjoy it and add it to your audition list.

  • ^To add to that, the song was written for the musical "Mack and Mabel", which originally starred Robert Preston (of "The Music Man" fame). So, yes, it's originally a bass-baritone song.

  • That expression in his eyes at the very end: that packs a wallop! Hard to describe; it was a "love pat" to his listeners, I think... What a video! His voice is magnificent. Thank you so much for posting this.

  • How I love Howard Keel!

  • My hero

  • Wonderful to hear one of the great voices of cinema still going strong, bringing "Mack and Mabel" and that yet earlier era of Hollywood to vibrant life.

  • He sounds wonderful! He is one of my favorite singers. Thanks for posting this.
