  • How cool to see your comment, Tyrrmat! I love Poly, although I haven't been back in a while. Where are you now? Hit me up on FB or email or whatever you like! maxhay.com

  • Hey dude...impressed...searched for pogues...found you...great version...made it your own...loved it =)

  • Thanks Tee55, Cheers!

  • Needed to hear this song and just typed in the title and clicked on this vid. But wow, did you deliver me something fenomenal here. Great rendition of a great song! The best I'll probably ever see here.

  • Thanks!

  • Hi Sean, Thanks buddy! The video was recorded on some sort of Canon hard disk camera (not mine) and the audio was recorded on a Digidesign digi 002. I played a Seagull S6 guitar with an LR Baggs Dual source pickup. The harp is a Hohner Blues Harp and the microphone is an SM57. Both guitar and vocal/harp channels used the preamps in my little Soundcraft Spirit FX mixer.

I was happy with the result too. Thanks for the compliment.

  • incredible sound quality, what or where were you playing?

  • great job dylancashmcgowanesqe more

  • Thanks Stevenorway

  • Thanks Lyvindar!

  • For f...'s sake - this is awesome!!! Most pogues songs are played as pure covers by...well, inferior artists (compared to the Pogues). This guy does it very well, it´s not trying to be the same - and the voice is very charismatic! After listening to several hundreds of similar-sounding singers, this is something new. It could sound great on sound blues songs!

  • Thanks for the compliment! I really dig your pennywhistling too! It sure adds alot to that Irish sound. Long Live The Hogs!

  • Hehe, thanks a lot!

I didn´t know this was you...anyway, as I said, it´s awesome. In times, where singers are made in gene-factories, probably, such voice is like a fresh air - it reminded me of Tom Waits a little. Where are you from, by the way?

  • Nice interpretation of the song. Keep going!!
