i just bougt a horn for 3600, and i've only played for 2 1/2 yrs from the mid of 10th-12th grade. but i recieved the most improved award for two years in a row, and the teacher can't seem to stop supporting me in continuing horn, lol. but i wish you luck, and i hope the high notes work better for yousoon! try like... like as if you know a high note is coming, then prepare..like with your lips. sorry i can't be more specific! good luck!

@Quickscopes23 one thing that I do to improve my range is play, for example, an f and then an f sharp, and take a rest, and then go f sharp to g, and keep going up a half step each time, and keep going until you can't play any higher, making sure your chin is still flat (don't want to make any bad habits) and keep doing that every day, at least once, and you will definitely keep getting higher in your range

the sound of the french horn is something that completely harmful to your ears. it only sounds good when it is accompanied by another instrument or by another horn. in this case it sounds good because there's a big ass echo, which deceives the spectator into thinking there was a concerto of horns.

Annamia's horn call shows that she is not only a world class horn player but an extraordinary musician. This is the way the long horn called should be played.

All my horn students will see this now. Please notice her breathing, her beautiful sound, but most of all her musical phrasing, Thank you, Annamia, for this example of how a horn should be presented.

I understand Wagner was changing the rythem up but I don't think he should morphed into the the dotted eigth sixteenth eight pair thing it sounds kind of wierd. This solo comes at the point in the opera "Siegfried", where our hero is blasting away on his horn to wake up the dragon Fafner.

The music weaves together several motifs relating to Siegfried, his parents and, indeed, his father's sword, the fragments of which he re-forged in Act I. It also tells us something about Siegfried's cocky character.

So, this isn't a "composition" in isolation, but a mere moment in a drama. Brief though it is, this horn solo conveys a surprising amount of meaning.
