You dont really think christians follow every verse of the bible? The bible says murder is a sin, but says some crimes deserve death. Christians take the verses they like at the time and use those to justify their actions. Slave owners in america were fine with them owning slaves, they took the right verses with the right interpretation, and it was all good.
