I think that was one case where our government did the right thing. Can't say the same about Iraq, Afghanistan or indeed Ireland.

In fairness I still think after the troubles that there still is an anti-Irish sentiment, however I really do believe things can change and that by making the first steps can go a long way to moving on. @burnthebrits A doctor dosen't treat someone who isn't ill.....The main problem with the British is their elitest monarchy which is propped up by an all loving military. If enough "normal" people joined, this may change.
Like you said, it's my choice and if I regret it, I will be able to resign my commission in 3 years time, and will still be under 25 with my life ahead of me (barring me getting blown up/maimed in Afghanistan haha) to make a better decision.
