Nowadays most of our universities are nothing but corporate job training centers, depending on corporate money, and the results are obvious. All the humanities are under-funded, and purposely so: they contribute to critical thinking skills. This is precisely what will happen everywhere, if people do not fight back. In its rawest form - yes you do. As a British Taxpayer you received a British education and now you pay back by paying taxes. But by having to pay more for university education means that the 'posh little nobs' retain a hold on all the more lucrative jobs, including running the country. This perpetuates a cycle of class division and inequality. I understand you never received an uni education but you had the opportunity to go cheaply or freely, which is the principle.

The youth in Europe + elsewhere is far more politically engaged than the youth in America. It didn't used to be this way. Nowadays most of our universities are nothing but corporate job training centers, depending on corporate money, and the results are obvious. All the humanities are under-funded, and purposely so: they contribute to critical thinking skills. This is precisely what will happen everywhere, if people do not fight back. I'm in solidarity with the Students in the UK.

The problem I have with such movements is that we try to blame our misfortunes on those who are better of and claim things like "share the wealth" seriously? why not just move to a communist country then.
