  • MY band has its 4th gig next week and last time i tripped on my chord and fell offstage breaking my arm and b.c.rich mockingbirdspecial x :(

  • hey ttk its dynamiteeel. Why I want it?? Umm... I stepped on the cable, tripped fell on the floor, had a broken nose, which is now slighly tilted to the right... the guitar jack of my epiphone fell of, and the clables inside were ripped apart. I couldn't play guitar for 2 months till the guitar came back, I nearly went crazy... Now everytime I play guitar I am afraid to stand up... I play only sitting on a stool.

  • I use a a wheelchair and rau over my own cable , didn't just pull the cable out but broke the jack off in my strat couldn't even use a different cable

  • My cable curls up when i play and when i play i am stuck in one spot.

  • My lead guitarist really needs wireless. He's still rehabing his knee after getting tangled in his cord three months ago and completely dislocating it. He'll barely move on stage now if theres a bunch of cords around.

  • I purchased a famous brand cable looking for better sound. The cable is unbelievably microphonic - every move I make results in amplified clicking. A waste of money!

  • Mistake # 1: Purchased expensive name-brand cable.

Mistake # 2: Used said cable for performance without a backup.

Mistake # 3: Walked too far from my DI and snapped the cable in two!

  • Hey Everyone,

We were playing a show and on the last song and the guitar dropout. We found that the cable had come apart on the plug to the speaker. So we tried to quickly unplug it and plug it in before the solo. But the cable plug broke off in the speaker jack so pretty much ther was nothign we could do so no slow and finishd the song without guitar. That totally sucked and we decided to replace everything.

    Rock On Dudes.

  • These comments blow. Just give me the stupid thing so I can break it onstage with my whirlwind guitar spinning around my waist and shoulder technique that blows minds and drops panties! ROCK!!!

  • I was playing at a summer camp with a basic 15 foot cable. Being a semi enclosed structure the hot weather made the insolation soft. During a solo i was playing i was moving around and my guitar cut out suddenly i could not figure it out luckily it was the end of the set. After i realized my cable had been cut and shorted out, by a nail so i end up with a busted cable out in an area with no way of replacing it. with a line 6 Relay G-30 wireless guitar system i would avoid this unfortunate event

  • During one of our shows in the midst of what could be charitably described as "energetic" playing my vocal suddenly disappeared. After the song came a frantic check of the signal path on my vocals: no luck. Just as we had given up and were resigned to scrapping my vocal for the rest of the show I noticed that my guitar lead had become wrapped around my vocal effects unit... and had turned my output volume to zero! Now... had I only been wireless this stress could have been avoided!

  • I used to manufacture custom cables for the guitar store I worked for. The problem was that my band mates were always forgetting their cables or mooching mine. So I made them custom cables with colour coded heat shrinked labels with their names on them... So I stopped carrying more than two spares. If I had a Line 6 Relay G30 Wireless Guitar System, I would now no longer have to carry cables to be mooched. Hey maybe I would get to take more solos!

  • My worst story was definitely the time when I was playing a guitar with a front mounted jack right by my knobs. My band was actually playing a show at the time of the incident... between me and my other guitarist jumping around on stage, he managed to get snagged on my cable and literally ripped out my entire jack with a large chunk of wood. The guitar was ruined (luckily I had a backup). one of the saddest days of my life. Never purchased a guitar with a front mounted jack ever since.

  • I practicing every day and I worn out many cables because they have awful quality. I wish I had one of these high quality wireless systems, I don't have to buy many cables again...

  • It was my first audition for a band and they asked me if I could play lead for a song. I picked Shock Me by Kiss. I was rockin out and about 30 seconds into the solo and my foot got caught in the cord and my solo was cut short. I felt like an idiot but decided to plug in and keep rockin. I would really appreciate a wireless system but due to being in college I can not yet afford one. \,,/

  • I need a G30 because I could keep losing the guitar jack when I repeatedly step on my cable.

  • My dog ate it. Need new means to Jam. Thank you;)

  • I have more money invested in cables than most average guitarist would believe, and no matter how much I spend on the best cables made they still get in the way, they still short out at some point.

Going wireless for me would be like a miracle.

Thanks and keep rockin, Terry White

  • My story took place a good while back when I was in high school. My band was competing in a battle of the bands competition. We were doing great until we got to my big guitar solo in our final song. The lead singer said "Take it Mike" and gestured towards me with a David Lee Roth'ish flailing-scissor kick move. I did a power slide into center stage, the spotlight fell on me and then....no guitar. The lead singer had unknowingly unplugged me from my amp with his big kick. It was an epic fail!

  • A while ago i picked up a new strat and a new cable. When i get home i immediately plugged in with the new cable and after an hour of playing i trip over the cable with my new strat in my hands and break the neck right off the body. boom $500 out the door. :(

  • My band had the chance to open for a great band at an awesome local club. When someone from crowd came up to dance with us on stage, he tripped over my cable, unplugged my pedal, and basically stopped the band! To make it worse, being a dark club, no one could see the the pedal was unplugged, but just pulled out of the jack enough to drop the signal, but to keep making grounding noises. Nothing says, "We're going to be pros," like having the lights turned on so that you can check cables!

  • I was playing my first ever gig, infront of what i thought was a relative size audience, so i am playing away, and all through out the day during rehearsels my cable kept cutting out, Then the worst part of it is, was i had to play an improv solo and there was a part what i put in it what i could barely play, but i managed to, so the gig comes and the solo is coming up, and just as i am about to play the solo, my cable cut out, so i was air guitaring like a prick, wireless is a definate for me.

  • I play an SG right so i playing a gig and i jump off one of my amps to start one of the songs and the cable gets caught up in my leg and literally pulls the jack out of the guitar. Ya... wireless seems like a good idea.

  • I was playing on state and one of the singers tripped on my cable breaking the input jack on my zoom 505II and pulling the jack out of my guitar. Needless to say I was done playing for a while.

  • I was playing an outdoor show as the headline act. We started the first number as the lights came up and were moving toward the front of the stage. I got 3 steps from my amp & the cable got wedged in a crack in the planks. I noticed this when flying backwards through the air into my Marshall. It fell over backwards with me on top of it...still playing. I went through the intro, 2 verses, and chorus laying on my back in front of hundreds of people before I could get up and stand on my feet.

  • I recently found out that micro-miniature viking gnomes armed with tiny pickaxes and battle swords destroy my cables. I can faintly hear what sounds like amon amarth while I see shreds of my cable flying apart. It's a pretty kickass scene to watch, but I constantly have to buy new cables for my guitar. Please send me a G30 relay so I may triumph over these tiny heavy metal gnomes!

  • I was in a pit orchestra. For this particular show, Pippin, the band was onstage, and the sound equipment was not near us. The show was going great until a dancer got his foot caught in my cable, tore it from the guitar, and fell on his face. Not only did this cause another dancer to trip over the first fallen, but it also sent that awful unplugged guitar noise to come through the house... Teaches a very important lesson. Even if you are very careful about your cables, others may not be!

  • I was playing on stage, I was moving around and having fun (thats what a show is supposed to be right?) meanwhile I was constantly dancing around my chord. I missed one step and started stumbling around. I took the chance to grab the chord and whipped it slightly to move it. The ripple flew through the chord and all the way to the input jack not only slamming the volume knob to maximum but shorting out the amp and making the most obnoxious feedback...ruined the song. Wireless Relay?...please?

  • I was jammin out and i started to walk a bit to far from my amp, and thats where it went wrong. i pulled out the whole imput jack out of the inside of the guitar. I got the guitar fixed, but im still scared it will wreck my guitar or amp again, and im sure it will happen. I am also starting to gig around and its such a hassle brining 50 million chords everywhere! So thats why i need a wireless system, Please help me!!

  • I was playing with my friend in my garage one day after getting my brand new Spider Valve HD100 and was rockin out, and me and my friend decided to switch spots to tweak each others amps for fun. My cheap guitar cable actually wrapped around my foot and made me trip into my friend. Thats when everything went wrong. I fell guitar first onto our cement garage and my guitar headstock just snapped. My friend took the pain and saved his guitar by falling on his head. I like my guitars in one piece =(

  • ok. so i was doing a gig with my friend and i had my old 20 foot baby ....turns out towards at the end of the song...all is going well..i go to move towards the front of the stage for my maddd solo haha. but anways..i tripped up in the cable..ruined my cable..fell off the stage..breaking my left ankle..my nose..and my collar bone and breaking my GUITAR...i didnt cry because of the broken bones..i cried because i broke my gutiar.. o.0...it was a signed tele $1000 and! i broke my amp. FUCK CABLES!

  • i was on stage and my supposed 'lifelong cable' from [i wont say which company made it, to be kind] just died, no pops, no drop in signal, it just outright died, fortunately i had another cable with me and thank god it didnt happen mid song, it was at the start but still, rather embarrassing as i had to walk off, get a cable and come back -.-

  • About a year ago I tripped over my cable and went falling down face first . The guitar had a floyd rose and the floyd hit the ground first, and jammed into the guitar, then because me falling and pulling on the cable it put tension on the amp head, it actually pulled the head so hard the head came off the top of the cab and slammed the ground with the front hitting first, which is where the input of the cable is, and the cable went completely through the input, and broke the head.

  • Also I was lucky and the things were old and cheap and were in the process of being replaced anyway.

For the record I already have a wireless, which I got the day after that show, so I do not wish to be entered into the contest and possibly take it away from someone who needs it, I just wanted to share my story.

  • one time i was playing at school with 10 ft cable and I went crazy and ripped the inside of my cable and now it doesnt work

so thats why i wasnt a wireless reciever

  • your WORST CABLED STORY!!!

  • I had just played an awesome gig and was breaking everything down, and being tired at this point I pulled a bit hard on my cable while winding it up.

The cable flew over my shoulder and the connector hit my lead singer very hard on his nose and cut it wide open. There was blood everywhere and he had to get stitches, I felt really bad. :(

  • I play a lot of live gigs, and at some places it's nearly impossible to keep drunk women off the stage.

One time during a song this chick tripped on my cable and ripped it out right before the intro to 'shooting star', as soon as I hit the distortion for the chorus, and AGAIN right as I hit the 2nd note of my solo!

That's just one story, but probably one of the funnier incidents. I had a wireless guitar system (2 actually), and they got stolen along with a bag full of strings and other stuff.

  • One month ago, I was playing "Jump" by Van Halen through my beloved Marshall DSL 100. Right when I yelled "Jump," I decided to jump the way EVH does in concert, but I forgot I was using one of my shorter cables. Not only did my amp head fall on the ground, but the power plug fell out destroying every tube, then my Marshall cab fell on top of the head completely shattering my insane amp. I went to Samash to return it, but they said my warranty expired after a month.

  • I was at my 8th grade school talent show, and during my band's show, my cable "broke" and emmited this high pitched nerve wrecking sound... I tried to fix it, but it didnt work. so i had to finish the show with that terrible sound... i was o embarassed after. I also love entertaining, moving around on stage, so i need to be wireless... Thank you for reading my comment, and please think of me for the give away =)

  • I own a very small Home Recording Studio. While playing my guitar the cord wrapped around my Bass guitar stand and knocked it over. It not only put a chunk out of my bass but took down my PC Monitor. The whole ordeal cost me money I don't have to get back on track. Please help a 61 year old ex-professional musician who lives on a fixed income. Music is my life, bye the way Line 6 is my amp of choice (Spider 4-15).

  • My worst band story is that my lead guitarist and singer got so drunk at a gig that he fell into me and made bang my $2000 bass off of one the drummers cymbals. My band broke up the next day.

  • ì was playing back in black -Guitar-amp but the crappy fender calliforniq cable got half disconnected.I am a single player so it was very bad.The gain got verry low almost clean and the solo was hard job!

  • Cables screwed up the input of my very first guitar, of which I have not the funds to get properly fixed. I was practicing as usual, and I tripped in the cable, FELL on the floor, the guitar luckily survived with a small dent on the side, but the cable was jerked out of the input, and now it makes a bunch of noise if I barely touch the cable. I tried fixing it, but it keeps coming back. I really want that wireless system!

  • I was at a gig with a 15 foot cable and I got really in to the music, and I lifted my guitar for a solo and when i brought it back down then I ripped the cable out of my amp head. the input on my head broke and the jack fell inside my amp, so I couldnt play my amp for the rest of the show I had to open it up to fix it :( and the input jack on my head comes loose often now, wireless would be awesome

  • My friends story: Cable went wrong, somehow, when playing on stage and it blew up the valves in his amp and ruined a bunch of other stuff in the amp, and also ruined the pickups, wires, broke the strings in his guitar and gave him a huge electric shock that blew him across the room... YAY!

  • i was playing, and then i accidentally stood on the jack lead going to my guitar, and tripped. MY foot stayed on the cable and my guitar went over my head, snapping the end of the jack of, and getting it stuck in the jack input, and braking my guitar, and jack. Had to replace the pickups and the jack input, was expensive.

  • i was playing guitar in my bedroom and i could smell burning. I realised that my girlfriend had left her hair straighteners on and my cable was heating up and was melting on them. As a result, the tape i had around the end of my cable had caught fire and then my speaker cab started to catch fire. I had to switch the mains electricity off and use a fire extinguisher.. it was nothing short of a close call.Word of advise.. make sure you use the best quality electrical tape!!

  • i wanna be the first in my band who has this and i have damaged some calbels by triiping on them and i like to walk free and not being a dog in a whats the name

  • i really don't have a bad story but everyone in my band has a wireless system except for me. they can run out into the croud if they want to but im stuck on stage. i did almost do the splits one time when i was trying to hit my pedal though. This wireless system would be awesome to have when i run around on stage.

  • @MrWer1138 Bro, how did you survive?

  • I simply hate wires..

  • I was playing on my elec. guitar, and while I was playing I tripped (I'm not kidding) myself, my sister, and my friend , and we all fell on the ground. I then sarcastically said that "My nose is bleeding!", but then I realized my nose actually WAS bleeding, and then when my mom came home she said that I can't play with the guitar for a month. I was sad. If I do win this contest I will record myself jumping around everywhere with the Line 6 Wireless system.

  • I used to make a loop around my guitar strap so if i walk on it ,it will still hold but once i walk so hard on it that my strap got loose ( i got strap lock on all my guitars since then) and i dropped my guitar on the floor just in front of me . Lucky for me it didn't do any damage but i looked very stupid.

  • I was playing lead at a gig, and as i ran over to the other guitarist to start dancing or something like that during the solo, my cable caught up under my amp. The cable was ripped out of my guitar, the cable was a 90 degree head and the metal part that plugs in broke off the entire cable, it cracked the strat's body in the process and needless to say, i looked and sounded like an idiot with my lack of a solo. I had a spare piece of junk cable in the bag, but i think my gig was ruined from that

  • I was playing bass in a prog metal band, and two things happened. I moved around so much that my cable wrapped around my pedalboard, my mic stand, my keyboard, and my feet. I tripped, and sent the mic falling, the pedalboard sliding around, and my keyboard taking a hit to the ground. Then, on the last song, we brought someone on stage, and they tripped over my cord, breaking the connector into my pedalboard, and they fell flat on their face and had to get 2 stitches.

  • Im constantly tripping on my guitar cables, i once had a nice jackson rr2 and broke it when i tripped on a cable and smashed the neack into the ground, splitting the headstock and seperating the fretboard form the guitar. With a nice wireless sytem this could have been avoided, unfortunately I cant afford to buy one.

  • Well i dont have to bad of story but at least it is true. I started playing guitar 2 years ago and just joined a band. We were doing our first gig at a local place and had played about half the song which i am not sure if i can say the name of but when i started to play the chorus i stepped on my cable and it jerked out of my guitar i rushed around looking like an idiot for a minute trying to get it plugged back in but i couldnt get it in time for the solo ruining the whole song.

  • My story is simple.....it was in 87 and we were playing The Troubadour.....we were doing our second song that night and a famous rocker star at the time was watching standing by the bathrooms and I was really getting down hardcore and my cord ended up wrapping around a fans neck...right in front of the stage.....right in view of the star.....ever since then I have had a hard time on stage for fear of doing it again.....even the time that I was using wireless systems.....

  • Ok I was playing at a gig a local coffee shop in my town. We were playing one by Metalica and we were at the part of the song where the solo is and I start playing the solo i ran up to the front of the stage (little did i know my 20 foot cable wrapped around my ankle) when i hit the tip of the stage my cable tripped me off the front of the stage landing on a coffee table head first breaking my guitar and tipped over my amp head! Luckily my amp head was ok but all the tubes broke. Cables BLOW!!!

  • My worst cable story was the same day I got my brand new Epiphone Valve Jr head. I plugged in, started playing, and while walking across the room, the cable caught on my leg and my brand new head went crashing to the floor...D'OH!

  • i was playing my very first concert about 2years ago ALL by myself and right as i started playing i accidently stepped on my cable and it came out and i was playing with no sound in front of 500people

  • I was playing my school talent show with my friends, I was playing lead guitar, we were playing some original stuff in the style of pop-punk we were going into a power chord strumming part and I started jumping around getting into the music. Before I know it my cable is wrapped around my legs and my bass player runs by and pulls the cable with is feet on accident. I fall mess up the wings on my jackson rrv, break my cable in the jack, banged my head on the ground and we lost because of that...

  • Was getting ready to take the first notes of my solo and got in to the big drumfill before the lead stomped on my cord and roped the Cable right out of the Jack. Not from the guitar but from the 1/4 inch connector. Epic failure on my part had to scramble to find another cord beforre the next song started. My band mates shot me confused looks but we recovered nicely. But wireless would solve this for ever! Thanks in advance. ~ Donk

  • I was playing in a talent show for school trying to win and i hear this bizz shhh sound i could not use my wah pedal to play the star spangled banner like Jimi Hendrix did it sounded ok but i was disappointed by the crappy $15 cable and i love Line 6 gear the Spider 3 still rules. i did not win it for that 14 seconds of that 1 cable not working. i threw it in the trash.

  • My worst cable story... I was playing a gig with my band. We were about halfway into our set and we were playing Satisfaction. I love to dance around on stage while I play my guitar. Well while I was playing I started getting into it. i was bouncing around and turning and I got wound up in my cable, tripped and my guitar came unplugged. Fortunately nothing got horribly damaged.

If I was wireless I wouldn't get tangled in my cord and make a fool of myself on stage. =)

  • An ex-friend once decided it would be funny on stage to strangle me with my guitar cable. I passed out and fell on my stompbox pedals and split my head open. If I was wireless I could of ran away and not been vulnerable to stage pranks.

  • ive had horrible experiences with cables. so this one time im practicing with my band and my strap falls off and my guitar hits the ground. of course the cable saved my guitar giving me time to grab the neck of my guitar to keep the body from hitting the ground. it completely broke the cable inside my guitar.

another time im in a warehouse practicing, and we are doing a hardcore breakdown. and so im jumping around, and i completely pulled out the cable from my pedal cutting off my sound, :(

  • My worst cable story FORTUNEATELY was not at a gig, but it still really sucked. I was jamming with the band(who's drummer has a dad who had an amp fall on his gibson melody maker due to pulling out a cable). Anyways, i decided to stand up off the couch, and walk to another spot with a bit more room. The only 2 problems with this were the chord, and worse, the stairs... Anyways, i hadnt seen it but the cable had wrapped around my foot and just as i walked past the stairs, i fell. Guitar=Totaled:(

  • my worst cabled story was during a gig, my lead singer dragged the mic stand to the other side of the stage, slicing my cable in half during a song, completely ruining the song.

we scrambled around for five minutes looking for a new cable, but all we could find was this old cable that was worn out. for the rest of the show i got horrible static from the cable.

ever since we have had an extremely hard time finding a place that will let us play, our rep is so bad because of this incident.

  • I want to do the solos as Matthias Jabs raising my guitar and trying to feel every note i play but there was an audition in the openning in a new bar and we were doing it great, then the part of the solo was coming and i reached my guitar and the cable was disconected cuz i pulled it and it was disconected from the amplifier because i was too far and it was an insane solo, the distortion was high and the horrible noise came and all in there complained about it,i felt so bad and i cant forget it...

  • My worst cable story was when I was playing a gig and my primary cable stopped working. So I changed to my backup which is a terrible cable. Towards the end our bassist tripped over my cable and brought my $2000 rig tumbling over.

  • i was playing a show and i saw some fine young ladies checking me out. well i got a ego rising and then i had the idea to jump on my drummers bass drum and jump off. btw this was a battle of the bands. and when i jumped off the cable wrapped around my leg and made me fall, come out of my guitar, unpluged from my amp, and disconnected some pedals, i missed 30 seconds of that song trying to fix every thing, needless to say, we didn't win and i did not impress the ladies

  • ive had a cable that i got for free and even after my dad and i took it apart and resodered it is caused this eveil hissing sound everytime it gets plugged it to my amp and theres also been a times i walk with my guitar on and i walk to the end of my leash and then yank out the whole jack cavity in my guitar

  • Better yet, make that 6 total chances! Line 6 is giving away 6 Relay G30s!

    Info on TTK's giveaway page.

  • nght5tlkr tip: Double your chances--there's another Line 6 Relay G30 giveaway! I have it posted on TTK's giveaway page.

  • Im in an 80's style hair metal band. And my wireless system broke at our last gig so I was using regular wired cables, and I always flip my guitar when we cover Down Boys by Warrant. I forgot that I didn't have my wireless (its broken) so I went to flip my guitar and in the middle of the flip I felt it stop. It pulled my amp head off of my stack and my 2 month old Randall RM100 crashed to the ground. Needless to say, that was the end of that gig.

  • playing a gig with my cousins band and had brought with me 3 20ft cables after soundcheck first one went out, halfway through the second song i stepped on the cable, it didn't come out of my amp but refused to work correctly. The 3rd cable i brought i plugged in and since it was a back up it was completely dead. I then had to use one of the other bands wireless systems to play the gig. He was using a cheap Nady system. It was ok but i still would like to play on a good wireless system.

  • once i had my little practice amp up on my bigger amp, i had a relatively short cable (shorter than my other ones), and i wanted something on the other side of the room, i forgot that the cable wasn't quite long enough to reach the far side of the room, i pulled my practice amp off and it fell to the floor, idk what i broke in it but it never worked right after that i ended up buying a new little amp which from now on will have to stay on the floor, i don't want to buy another amp, again.

  • i had a audition to play for a band there normal guitar player was sick ,so i took my gear and amps the the pub set up turned on my amp!! nothing!! man not even a pop hiss it was like 8.30 we were on at 9.00, i ended up cutting the lead were the brake was put it back together and it was like a foot long, then it time i was time to play i could not move fear of pulling out my lead from the amp, it was hell playing some cool groves stuck to one spot ,man i could do with a wireless guitar system

  • ok, i run a cable for my foot switch, two cables for my pedal board to my amp (send/return) an a chord from my guitar to my amp. at one of my bands recent shows i was skipping to the center of the stage during one og my guitar solos and i tripped on cable. not onnly embarrassing myself but ripping out the input on my amp head. now my amp is messed up and i cant fix it!

  • i have always had bad luck with cables i been to poor to afford good cables and they broke in a few weeks and would spend days fixing then breaking it and burning myself with the soldering iron.when i saved up enough money for a elixer cable it broke in a week.i found out my little sister was playing jump rope with it and snaped it on the inside.and im back to dealing with $5 cables that break and burning myself again

  • my worst guitar cable came with my first guitar. it didn't have a brand on it so i assume it's cheap. at first, i thought my guitar or my amp was crappy and that's the reason it sound crappy. after it broke and i bought a new cable and tried it out, I've realized that my instrument wasn't the problem but it was my cable.

I've enjoyed playing guitar more now then the one I've had b4.

  • i was playin' guitar at a gig and the cable i was using was realy cheap and too short i ran fro the drum riser to the front of the stage and the cable flew out the wah in the front of my board and it hit a guy in the face in the audence, broken nose, blood everywere, not good.

  • Most of my working day I am spending at the front of my PC that puts me straight into the cardiovascular problem zone (including my inherited arrhythmia even more) so, to avoid such risk (also to escape "spare" storing :)) I am doing my workouts whenever my health and busy schedule allows it Therefore L6 unit would give me opportunity to combine my guitar practicing (love every minute of those hard but lovely moments!) to my aerobics on stepper Sounds nuts as all my life- to merge unblendable!

  • Well, heres my story:

I bought a First Act guitar cord from Wal-Mart. Lasted me 3 months.

DO I WIN NOW!? =D Yeeah, I don't have the equipment breakin', player injurin' stories that most people have.

  • My dad is 85 years old and I take care of him, not to long ago he decided to come into my room while I wasn't home and lucky me, I left my guitar cable in the input jack of the guitar while on the stand....make a long story short he managed to get his foot hooked on the cable when he was leaving the room and took down my guitar which has a nice chunk taken out of the headstock now but even worse dad hurt is wrist when he fell trying not to fall on the guitar. I hope it don't happen again. Thanks!

  • ok all i have to say if monster cable plus touring/ mini touring i have been in front tons of people and a brand new monster cable and it goes out with me bing the only guitar player in the band. you can just see how all this played out. so you spend 30 or 40 buck on a cable that will last you 8 practices and 2 shows or 5 days on the road. dont buy these cables they are crap .

  • i was playing a gig in front of about 2 or 3 schools,so about...2,000 people maybe..anyway,was playing a killer solo and my cable snapped on me! it was a cheap one cuz i cant afford good ones, but we where lead off stage and couldnt come back to finish the show ever again...all because of my cables...

  • I was playing around in church practicing and i was walking around stepped on my cable. It pulls the the cable hard enough that the pick gaurd on my p-bass and torn it to peices

  • I was playing around in church practicing and i was walking around stepped on my cable. It pulls the the cable hard enough that the pick gaurd on my p-bass and torn it to peices

  • was playing a gig at my schools basketball marithon, during come as you are i was standing real close to my amp because the cable was a bit dodgy and couldnt be stretched out, so i decided to move up to the front and guess what? the danm cable died and wouldnt come back and work

  • A few months ago after playing playing at home for some time I shut off my amp unplugged my cable from my limited edition Gibson Les Paul standard and placed it on the my guitar stand. Still having my guitar cable in my hand, a cheap one coiled bullet cable, I just tossed it under my amp... it was on an amp stand. For some reason the cable bounced or jerked back and hit my guitar leaving a ding (that's right thru the finish) on the top of my beautiful blue burst "limited edition " guitar!

  • was playin wit my band and was foolin round runin round etc. i steped on the cord it got ripd out, destroyd the port, wat we didnt kno, our basist was recordin, wen the port ripd out ther was a big screechy feedbak and wen i herd it i covrd my ears but my strap let go of the gitar, it fel and ther was a big dent in the side, the brige got mesed up cause the gitar dropd on the wamy wich was stickin sideways and the brige was bent wher i'd take out the strngs so i couldnt take the strngs to fix it

  • I was playing with a Fender amp (topmount input jack) on an amp stand at a gig one time. I had wrapped the cable around the handle so the cable wouldn't come loose, and it didn't, go figure. I moved to the front of the stage too quickly, and my cable dragged the amp along with it, sending it crashing to the floor. Needless to say, our set ended pretty quickly....

  • look sweet would love to have one!!

  • i was playing in a club with my band and all the cable was on the floor unorganized and then i went too far from the amp and when i got back to the first place i was standing the cable ended up on my leg and i fell off the stage.. it was terrible...

  • Worst cable story isnt a story of when I was playing but actually when I was wrapping up my cable around my arm. I play at church and after a long day with two services playing about an hour or more each I wrapped up the cable and it came and smacked me in the eye leaving me partially blind. (0_X) ouch....

  • Wow perfect story... I played in a local band in high school. My limited gear consisted of my own Mexican tele and a borrowed amp to gig with. After saving for a while I got my first real amp, a Fender DeVille. First gig with the amp I had my cable looped around the handle of the amp before going in the input. Got too far away from the amp and the cable pulled it over off the riser and stage. It landed upside down, crushing the cabinet in and ruining the electronics. Absolutely devastating.

  • I was playing at a gig a few weeks ago and, being fairly new to gigging, I only took one cable. We got on stage, plugged in and started playing (one of my own songs I'm pretty pleased with), and then my bassist came over to share my mic for the backing vocals, and stepped on my brand new £30 neutrik jack cable. Not only did he pull the cable out of my guitar, his Doc Martens totally crushed it and when I plugged back in, all I got was an embarrassing buzz. We ended up having to leave the stage.

  • forgot to mention that the organizer of the gig of course didn't pay us and so I lost out on not only a £30 cable but also my money!

  • So I was at band practice and I didn't realize my cable was tangled up a bit, didn't have as much room as I thought, I went to far away, the cable jack knocked the washer off and the input fell into the amp and the whole amp fell over which knocked the speaker off it's socket, but luckily wasn't to damaged. The cable was also slightly bent to were i couldn't use it again. I had to completely unscrew everything to fix it and the amp hasn't sounded as amazing as it had...

    this has happened twice.

  • my worst is about 1 year ago i was at a coffee house that a guitar club at my old school had and I brought an acoustic and a small roland acoustic amp that was miced up. Well my friend Chris and I had a little guitar battle between the two of us just for fun and someone let me use their half stack (some solid state Randall) and with my 10 ft. cable i pulled the head off stage and the chaise was pretty much shattered. I had to pay for his amp which was bout 350 bucks

  • My worst cable story was when I was walking around my high school with this 20-foot cable, and it was plugged into my friend's Micro Cube, basically because I felt like showing off a bit. He was pretty far away, and people started stepping all over the cable, bending the ends so severely that the cable just stopped working. I loved that cable too because there was no noise/hum. My newer cable isn't safe in my possession either. I like to sit in a classical position, and the ends are pretty bent.

  • I playing at a small bar in downtown Ottawa. When i put one foot on my monitor i some how managed to to step on my cable with my back foot. I went for a quick guitar spin after the solo, and the guitar spin worked successfully, but my cable came out sending a loud screeching noise across the bar. After i finally got the cable back into my guitar, the crowd was cheering and laughing for the rest of the gig. :)

  • @shatteredbrutal ahahah wooooooow that sucks hard man! you deserve the prize :P

  • Practicing with my band and in the middle of a Sabbath song. My drummer knocked over a cymbal and chopped my cable in half. That sucked.... And my birthday is april 8th man! lol

  • So, Sweet Child of Mine, playing and try to come forward for the solo. I trip. The amp falls down of the stack and breaks the lead, the head and my leg. The rest of the band continues haha :P Please save my other leg :P

  • our band practices in a small room and we have 5 guys cramed in a avereage sized room,, so theres like literally 20 cabels all over the place and it is a mess ttk/ line6 please send me that wirerless system our band really needs it

  • I cannot afford long enough cables so I have a 12 foot cable. I forgot that it was short and began walking around. I ripped my tuner off my Pedal Board and broke the display...Nuff said.

  • I had a cable, that just didin't work.

  • I've had a Fender platinum series cable that cost me £40 stolen, and every lead i've had since then has broken even though they were all high quality leads, one even snapped clean in the middle

  • Well, maybe not the worst story, but I went to my local music store and wanted to buy a somewhat decent cable, so I bought a monster cable, expensive as hell, and got home and started to play, it sounded great and all. I took a break and then played some more.

Anyway, my little sister stepped into my room with her bunny, Tufsi. And let it go free on the floor, and suddenly everything went completely quiet, and Tufsi ate my new cable up :(

  • Well, it isn't really a singular story as such. It's more like a series of bad experiences with cables. When I play bass at home, the cables bail on me, when I play at the school musical, the cable bails on me, when I played at a minor cold festival, I had to fumble around during the song, because the cables (you guessed it) bailed on me xD

  • i was playing a gig at a festival once&had some energy, did some jumps&whatnot, went to run by the stage edge where the crowd was, tripped on my cable,fell...no one helped me up&i broke a headstock,a finger&a volume knob on my guitar :(

  • once playing live, i stepped over my cable, and it fell off the guitar. i thought it was only that it had disconnected, but in fact it had ripped off the jack of the guitar!!!

  • One time i played a gig at a bike show and i went too far away from my amp, i went to do a solo with my guitar behind my back. as i put the guitar behind my back, The singer tripped on the cable, the cable snapped, the singer fell over and broke his ankle and worst of all, my guitar fell off the strap and smashed off the upper horn of my dean razorback 255. my gear was ruined and we had to finish half way through the set infront of over 200 drunken bikers... not a good night...

  • hey ttk ive entered all of ur give aways and im not gonna lie and tell a sob story. one night i was playing a gig with my band for a friends party. in the middle of the song my chord was yanked almost out of my guitar. i thought that the chord was shorting out i later found out that my guitar input had a wire almost ripped off i had to pay to get my input on my guitar fixed and i had to cancel the rest of the gig i didnt get paid for the gig. i have a line 6 amp and would love this system

  • my lead singer pulled his mic cable tight because it was caught hitting me in the sack and because i was playing my Paul when i balled up in pain i also fell flat on my face because of the weight. XD

    thank you TONE KING!

  • If I win I will be giving this to my friend, we play in a band together however he is in a other known band and I work as a tech for them when they play and tour. There was a pretty big show we did late last year and we forgot to bring the duct tape for us to tape the cables down. He uses 20 foot cables however they were tangled and he decided to go to the other side of the stage to start the song not knowing until it was time for him to come in that his plug had disconnected from the wah pedal.

  • The monitors no that stage were not too good and All I could hear were drums by the time he came back to his side he was doing the Spinal Tap head wave trying to get my attention. By the time I got him plugged in almost a minute had gone by. We always have something fuck up at our shows, this was just one in a long list from the many years doing this.

  • In one of my first gig, i was using an amp from someone else. In the middle of a song, someone walked on my cable and this EXPLODED the input of the amp, and my cable.. My guitar wasn't hurt but since then i'm always afraid about cables running everywhere around me :s [Sorry, i'm not from an English country!]

  • i dropped my brand new ibanez rg due to the strap coming of . it landed on the cable snappin of the jack and shattering the input jack. inside the guitar. i was playing the next day and had to duct tap in a barrel jack from an old ibanez and play with that. the wires used to put it in came from an old computer mic. talk bout bodge job haha. the cable has now been fixed.... just.

  • There was this one gig that i had that was just horrible everything was going so so well my band and i were half way done with our setlist and we started the next song and the vocalist TRIPS on my amp cable drops my head and brakes the amp cable inside the amp so i couldn't play at all for the rest of the set and i was the lead guitarist so of course there was solos i had to play that made it worse that was one of our worse gigs ever!

  • i was playing in a club and i wrap my cable round my £1500 head so it doesnt come out of the input, and i went too far away from my amp and jumped off the drum riser in the opposite direction to where the head was, and it fell to the ground. i actually cried on stage

  • I like the look of that system.

Anyhow, I had a small gig in a local pub. There was one particular song that I used my Wah pedal in. Somehow, the cable coming from my guitar got stuck between the pedal and the pedal body, so I couldn't push it down. I had to stop playing midway. The audience wasn't pleased.

  • The best of good luck to everyone participating!

  • Well First off, I want one Because Line-6 is like the best Brand ever (NOT Flattering) =) and Well I am only 14 and I am soon to start playing Gigs but my worst Cable experence was Probably when I was playing and the cable rapped up so bad that a 10 ft cable was now 2ft, so when I walked around I ripped the cable out of my Effects and the Amp!! not a fun experence!! but ya what a lame story =P Good Luck Peoples!!

  • im a ghost

  • It was christmas morning. I got a new $50 guitar cable. I was playing, suddenly-no noise. The dog chewed right through. I had no backup and had to wait so long before my mom would get me another one, it was like a week before I got to play. She got me a first act 10' I was restricted because of it, to the amps side, lots of feedback, and the cable kept cracking :(

  • i was watching tv not even playing guitar, i sneezed, my guitar latched around my neck, choking me to death........im dead

  • how u wrote this lol?

  • i was jamming out on my guitar, and then my little brother came running in, tripped over the cable and smashed his head open. god i hate cables...

  • once i was at home practicing some scales, i sneezed, my cable wrapped around my neck and choked me to death........im dead

  • we had a first gig in pub with ~100ppl audience (friends birthday) and I am that bands drummer but I played opening song on guitar (washburn x20, song misirlou) I used stock cable that came with my friends guitar, and all the time while I was playing cable was picking up some radio noise and it made some strange noises... then i tripped a little and cable was pulled out half-way from guitar because bad input jack and all you could hear was that radio... EVERY word was clear. It was folk music!!

  • At high school, me and the teachers thought we should play STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN. So we pratice the song for two months after school hours and i play the solo perfectly but when we play on the stage things got dirty The song is 8 minutes we play the 6 minutes of calm Led zeppy chords and when the solo kicks in, well it doesnt cause i just stepped on my cable and pulled it out.! so i play the solo with no sound and don't even realize it yet. my history teacher told me after I didn't have my jack.

  • i was playing a gig at the local youthie & i had my cord wrapped around my strap once 2 stop it from coming out of my bass whilst doing squats& jumping around as we do in the metal genre& the rhythm guitarist stood on my cord whilst in mid action doing a squat and as i went down the cord tightened and poped my strap off the bass and i went down with my bass head stock 1st into the speakers hit them them mybass head snapped and i went over the fallbacks and landed flat on my ass with a dead bass

  • Just had a show on Sunday, and I Friggin jumped off the stage and my pedals werent velcroed to my pedal board.. My pedals flew off my board and went flyin into the crowd like a clothes line effect or something. It was quite hilarious until someone in the audience snagged my pedals and ran off with them can you believe that!? Toneking help a Fellow out. I dont wanna deal With cables anymore!!

  • Playing with an SG i had a straight cable and failed to tuck it between my strap and guitar. I was playing a gig at my high school back in '06. the input jack is on the front of the guitar and I was rockin out a little too hard, stepped on the cable and ripped the whole input jack right out. the wood around the jack was completely mangled. the only repair i could do was putting a steel plate on the body and mounting the input jack through it. epic fail. embarrassing and expensive lesson learned

  • I did a show for my old High School; 1st show for 4k students attending. I'm the person to start Metallica's Fade to Black interlude, breakdown to solo, and ending. But of course damn cable unplugged itself and me trying to quickly & smoothly put it bak ended up falling, had to deal w/embarrassment, plugged it in &started playing. I played the whole show thinking I did a subliminal job only to know in the end I wasnt even plugged in throughout the whole show, it unplugged from the amp =|

  • Hi TTK! Help me wake up my church! I am restricted to my rig with a 10 foot cable! ...like a dog on a leash! Award me with this wireless unit so I can run through the isles and pews and wake up this luke warm church! Also, having a wife that is unable to work and being a father of three, two of which have autism, money is tight and this unit would really come in handy at church. Well, not a technical problem, but rather a restriction due to my short cable. Please help me Tone King! U Rock!

  • I was playing a metal song for a talent show through a Tiny Terror and all of a sudden someone ripped the cable out of the amp input as they walked by. The audience was understanding...until I i learned that the amp input was broken and had to switch to a backup...blues jr. I sounded like Steve Ray Vaughn trying to join Metallica

  • i was playing at HOB in las vegas. full house opening for bone thugs and harmony we start the intro i get my stance together. my cable pops out as the curtains opened. it was my 1st huge show ever. had to fall down unplug it back in n rise like i was a crazy person. couldn't really move due to being caged and fear of popping out. every so often try n almost falling but had to make it an act like i meant to trip or trying to work my side n being tugged by the cord having to walk back like a child
