  • is it a waggot cam ?

  • Awesome video. It sounds elite.

Do you know if the head needs to be machined at all to take such a cam?

  • Lol stock tach. Nice.

  • that's so nice. i hardly ever like VLs coz people always just wack on turbos, so damn boring - that however is and sounds wicked, nothing beats the sounds off lumpy cammed sttraight 6s. specially cool to see a wagon being tinkered with too.

  • Hi what brand cam is this? Thanks

  • nice man...yeah I'm saving for cam/head work for my VL but my bloody power steering pump decided to shit the tin...

  • WTF!?? thats the tuffest N/A RB30 ive heard in a vl. That cam sounds ridiculous!

  • nice cam sik idle

  • Chunky as fuck man!!

  • you are a toy from danny

  • Just realised your off Calaisturbo mate!! I found your thread write up, was reading through it and watched the exhuast note video, and saw this as related videos. I read all the build, very very cool.

  • Thanks mate, yeah its come a long way.

  • how do you find running the high comp rb30 on boost man. how much psi are you pushing or is it a na. Gas Rb30 from ct

  • @321DH123 whats the link on to your calaisturbo thread? wouldnt mind reading the build

    well done tuff as fuck

  • @dards013

Go on CT and search for "My VL Wagon Build" my screen name is danielh.

Did all this back when i was 16 lol, she got sold on stodgies for $1800 to pay for my r32 =(

  • thats the top end of my old race motor.

when it was in my speedway car it kept breaking drive train. 2 gearboxes 3 clutchs. may of uni's a tailshaft. tore the teeth off the pinion and stripped the spline out of a mini spool. it was a animal, and all while sitting on 9500rpm

  • Yeah definitely a beast, very hard on tires with a single spinner diff lol

  • Nice mate, nice! Performance modified non turbo VL... love it. Thats what i'd eventually love to do for my factory manual n/a sedan.

Not enough of them.. everyone just opts out for psi.

How much did it all end up costing you?

Genuine calais wagon or just a calais dash?

And thats a very different exhuast note for a nissan lol...

  • Hey mate,

I bought the head built for $800 off a mate who paid around $1250 getting it built.

To build a freshly built engine with this kind of work you wont get much change out of $3000 with a heavy duty clutch but it will last forever if done properly :)

This has more than enough grunt for me as a daily driver and is hassle free and reliable, the biggest increase you get with this work is revs mainly, loves to rev!
