well i dont know about you but i think the more HQ the games are the faster the battrey dies

i mostly play games for like 3-2 hours till my ipod dies

but when i play games like Asphalt 5 wich have a very high graphic and the games movement are very fast in this game

and with games like that my Ipod dies in like 1 hour or 50 minutes

insted of 3-2 hours of gaming

You're battery is probably a little old, having an iPod sit at room temperature 70 F for a year decreases capactiy about 20%. And each recharge.

the reason your batterie lives are so short, is cuz u didnt fully charge ur device before using it. ITS A MUST. when u use it straight out the box you stop the batteries cells from reaching the highest charge. after that u can never charge it past that point.

@njayflowers You cannot use the ipod touch right out of the box. You need to connect it to itunes and sync all of your things you have on itunes. And it charges while you do that.

But still, one important iPodTouch battery life vid remains: CONVENTIONAL GAMING

-Wi-fi off

(no need for wifi with games, agreed)

-Sound at a normal, medium level

(because games are better with sound and max sound is too loud)

-Screen brightness at 50%

(at min you can't see shit, at 100% it's bright and clear, but you don't need it to be this bright plus it drains battery: 50% makes more sense)

Unfortunately, I no longer have this iPod touch. I sold it to help buy the iPhone 3GS. If I run into a pile of money someday, I'll buy up all of the older generations and do a mega compilation video comparing them all with a few combinations of settings.

with

no wifi (not needed)

no sound (made games kinda gay)

and minimum birghtness( cant really enjoy the ipod touch)

fo if you go ur battery set a lil but higher then minmum and you got sum sounds it should last you about 3 hours 40 minutes (im just gussing)

I got a 2G 16gb ipod touch for $155 (used). I run a test for the battery life, 2:15 playing games,using internal speaker and using minimun power.

Is that  battery really bad?

it was like mine hen i first got it.. when i rebooted it because it stuffed up it seemed to safe battery for about double that no clue why

Unless they really messed up the battery somehow (I don't see how), the thing should be lasting quite a while longer than that. Most important factor is brightness, so even with everything else cranking, you should be getting more than that. I would suggest taking it to an Apple store for a battery test.

the battery dies fast playing games. it takes alot longer if ur playing music or something. some ways to save battery r to turn down the brightness and turn the wifi off when ur not using it

Is it a first-gen or second-gen?

Check your Push/Fetch settings...if it's set to both push (ON) and fetch every 15 minutes, that will drain your battery real quick.

Keep the brightness at the lowest setting you can stand. When I turned the brightness up to max, it almost halved the battery life.

I will check on the wifi settings in more detail later today. Watch for my video tonight.

One more thing...is it a first generation (black ring around front, flat back, no volume switch or speaker) or second generation? (stainless steel all around, curved back, volume switch, speaker)

If it's the second generation, you may have a defective one, and I would suggest taking it to Apple for a replacement.

I got halfway there. I did a test with Wi-Fi on today. Check out Part 4. The impact is similar to only turning sound on (and not wifi), so I would guess 4 hours or a little under if you do both.

Sadly, that's with everything off/minimum...and who plays games with no sound or internet, and with minimum brightness? The "real world" use is about 2.5-3 hours in my experience. I'll detail that in the next video
