  • I never expected to enjoy this film but Emily Blunt and Rupert Friend were just absolutely convincing as the characters they portrayed... I honestly thought they would date each other in real-life. Thank you for posting :)

  • I knew Mr. Whickam was not that bad... ha ha ha

  • @farisa2020 yes! someone else knew he was mr.wickham! i was watching this and was like "wait a second..."

such an awesome movie. its amazing.

  • @teddygeigerstoohott Thank God I wasn't the only one! I kept watching the scenes with Albert in them and kept going, "God, he looks familiar! Where have I seen him?" Then, I realized it was Mr. Wickham from PRIDE & PREJUDICE.

  • What a beautiful movie. It & the music hit every emotion. I've read many biographies on Queen Victoria, but never realized before how truly heartbroken & crushed in spirit she was over the loss of her great love, best friend & true equal, in this life. This movie made me understand the depth of her emotion & that this is one of the greatest of history's love stories.

  • @vickiehill1 I, too, was so moved by this incredible movie; it is a masrerpiece. I hardly ever see a movie twice. When I was a boy, I saw the "Wizard of Oz" three times. At an art theater in Pasadena, Ca, I saw it twenty- three times. I would later read her biography. What a joy it was to absorb what I could from this truly great woman. What character!!

  • haha one person missed the like button loolz how sad for them lool

  • gives me chills every single time ...sigh

  • The musical score for the proposal scene is very touching and poignant!

  • I am in love with this film. <3

  • love the film + absolutely LOVE the music i agree with princessvickie95 ! the only bad thing is that it makes me sad because i just remember that albert dies so young- he was only in is early 40's- and poor victoria is so distraught she wears black for the rest of her life :'-(

  • The music in this film evokes so much emotion. It's beautiful.

  • que bagan bagan bagan esta musica esta pulentaza todo el soundtrack de esta pelicula me gusta y la pelicula tambien esta chevere px =)

  • I love this film, I'm watching it as we speak - again! ;p

  • I dont get it..did queen Victoria married her own cousin???Its nasty!!!

  • I agree it is quite odd. But that is because we live in a different time period. That was quite common. Back in egyptian times phaoroahs would marry their own sisters. It was all about keeping the noble blood line in the famly.

  • @historygirl90 Yeh but that was like 3000 years B.C ( and did you know that farao Kofu even marired his own daughter?....nasty). Noble blood..hhmm its rather more inbreed!!

  • Lol.I agree.

  • @kamekazegirl Even today, the royal family have to Marry people from there own familys, maybe perhaps there related by great great great great uncles brothers cousins sisters nans but they have to some how be in the family tree, to keep the blood line blue (:. Also alot of the time it's to get alies of another country, i hope this helps, Albert and victoria where one of the very rare royal couples to fall inlove befor they were married, alot of royal couples never loved one another :(

  • Beautiful film & music

  • i love this soundtrack..it is so beautiful!!

i am getting wed and this track has deffo made it onto my short list!! Loved the film to!!!

  • unless youre a hillbilly try and refrain from using film soundtracks at your wedding.

  • @kinnoul123 Beautiful music is exactly that beautiful music whether or not it is used in a movie. Most of all it is the bride's day to choose the music that she wishes to hear.

  • Unless youre a hillbilly, try and refrain from using film scores at your wedding.

  • i am no 'hillbilly' and most music at weddings are chosen as they have been heard and liked before no matter where they were heard first!!!.......

  • music is music. If its beautiful and connects with someone emotionally why shouldnt they have at the most beautiful time of their of their life? And on top of that, why are you judging people anyway? Frankly, its none of your buisness what people play at thier wedding. Your the arrogant one.

  • I just love this film! My favourite of all time! And the sound track is amazing, I love Ilan Eshkeri's music he even did Stardust another fav!

(It is a he right? Lol)

  • @TopYoghurt

Yes it's Ilan Eshkeri who composed this wonderful score. And if you like this one, you should listen to the score of "The ring of the Nibelungs", it's also composed by Ilan Eshkeri ;)

  • oh..doesn't Rupert Friend look like Orlando Bloom? I mean, when i first saw Albert in the film, i thought i was Orlando Bloom!

  • @gonnasayno I thought it was him as well! Either way they are both hot ;D

  • You can tell that not everyone can read the same film in the same way from those opinions. I don't think this film is just about a royal couple. It's more than just that. Even royal family can have normal human nature, for instance, a love and passion for each other as a married couple. Victoria and Albert weren't just the Queen and the King of England. They were also a couple deeply in love.

  • bidarsho - who was "henry" (fat ass or otherwise)? Do you mean Albert? He wasn't a king either? Victoria wasn't that plain as a young woman - bit goofy admittedly, but this was pre-orthodontics, pre-makeup era - she became plump through child bearing and possibly over-eating through grief. I'm no royalist but cut the arrogant (check your spelling) anti- British stance. It's ....... boring, and other nationalities do it better, and more better informed than you.

  • This movie is absolutely amazing! I loved it!! And the soundtrack is beautiful!

  • i dont know why they show their king and queen totally different with what they were look like . henry was a fat ass and queen victoria was like and ugly chicken . oh my god ... erregant british

  • OMG those lovely stereotypes... :)

  • @bidarsho1972 oh my god yourself -- get a book and look at the famous Chalon portrait of Queen victoria's coronation......she was not bad looking and gave albert some action if they had nine children together

  • Stupid person. You are thinking of Henry 8 not Victoria.

  • dont call me some thing that you are .... erregant.

  • She was gorgeous when she was younger. The film is showing her life befor she became known for her dark, widowed life style, it's showing her when she was a young, happy queen. Much different from the queen everyone rememebers :) Hope this helps a little :)

  • well that make sense...cause as a child i was scared of her pictures ... they were scary to me. my grandma had so much antiq and some was from victoria times.

  • wrong, victoria is regarded as one of the plainest of monarchs. Very short, big hips, very plain face and mousy hair. Where have you read she was gorgeous?

  • @kinnoul123 No one mentioned anything about it being read.

And who's to say big hips, mousey hair and plain face isn't beautiful :S

Well albert obviously found something attractive about her.... Anyway, we ccan;t ALL have the same opinions an we (:

  • 1. cant spell arrogant.

    2. Henry was athletic and regarded as the best looking monarch in Europe until the late 1520s.

    3. All films are glossed over with beautiful actors, this has developped in hollywood, not england.

  • Emily Blunt is amazing too ;)

  • Amazing movie! J'adore le réalisateur (il est québecois) :))))

  • this beautiful bac kground music to this clip is sung by sinnead o'connor at the end of the film.....a real bonus at the end for a beautioful movie.everyone demand it at their theatres or buy the dvd!

  • sorry about the typo above....the queen would not approve!

  • TO FITMAN27

You are soooo wrong. I am 100% true blue American who spends a tremendous amount of time in England. So sad that I know more about your history than most of your countrymen.

  • I think it is silly to quibble about the virtues or vices of the USA or the UK. Like fitman27 I am Canadian and feel that we are more or less cut from similar cloth. Both countries have produced incredible beauty and have altered for good and for bad the history of the world. This is the contrary nature of Empire.

  • Is this out on DVD? I would like to see this just from the video you showed =D

  • UK - yes. :)

  • @Persphonefallen YES, this is out on DVD and It's AMAZING. I love the movie and I love the music! If yo haven't seen it yet, you should!

  • @emmibow Crazy that you posted this but I just saw it! It was great you can really related to Victoria and I was even saying how much I would do the same as she. She sure is a force to be reckon with.

  • Seen this movie twice in theaters and bawled both times. So romantic.... love every dress she wears... love her dog.... love Albert... love her. Got a free poster too.:)

  • Yeah, tourphil, you're probably right. There are plenty of intelligent, sophisticated Americans, they just don't get the media attention of say, Sarah Palin. There are different brands of democracy, and the British system (I'm Canadian) has its pluses and minuses...as does the American system.

    Cheers.

  • This movie is too subtle for Americans. They have no clue how a constitutional monarchy functions (alot better than their shoot 'em up, free for all of a nation)

  • too true.

  • Sorry "fitman27" but your snobbery is showing. This American enjoyed "Young Victoria," understands how a constitutional monarchy functions and has little use for shoot 'em up films. I'll even match my command of the English language with yours.

  • Someone is being quite narrow minded I must say.

  • Oh and I by the way, as a classic film lover of movies dating back from 1896-1960's. Being very found of great art like The Crowd, The Flesh and the Devil, Gone with the wind, A Patch of blue, Black Orpheus, Les Efants du Paradis ect..the list goes on. I love movies that show humanity at its deepest, to reach out and touch people in a way they have never known before. "Something that the films lack these days". Oh and by the way I spent my christmas gift money to watch this film then Avatar.

  • I watched this film for the first time just today, and I think it's wonderful! Lovely music. It has a subtle beauty and elegance that you don't feel with many other films (perhaps because this is a historical piece about a unique romance dating back to mid-19th century). (Another one similar to it that comes to mind is 'Anna Karenina' from 1997 with Sophie Merceau, but that ends tragically of course). I definitely want to see this movie again, and I would recommend it as well. :)

  • I love this movie T^T

  • I have watched this movie like 5 times in the past 3 days and I love it and this score

  • Beautiful score! Especially the part from 02.10 till 02.52. When I hear it, I think of my sisters, my brother, my friends and family. Everyone that means something for me. It reminds me how lucky I am to have such a good family and friends.

02.30 - 02.42 reminds me of 'Todesfinale' from the soundtrack The ring of the Nibelungs also composed by Ilan Eshkeri.

Sorry if my English is bad ;).

  • I just ordered the soundtrack after several months of just thinking to do it... :-)))) I couldnt resist anymore......it has something peaceful and I love going to work by train and seeing nature passing by with this wonderful music in my ear.......a good start for a day in the office.

  • Such a beautiful score. :)

  • beautiful score!

  • "..Schubert..I like..Scubert" hehe =D go Albert

  • @00DragonRider00 haha! those parts were so cute, when he was clumsily trying to impress her.

  • @00DragonRider00 That scene was amazing. When she realized she might fall in love with him. (:

  • queen victoria was the great grandmother of Anastasia of Russia.
