It was Elizabeth Taylor who said that IN HER OPINION MJ was the King of Pop, Rock and Soul... IT wasn't Michael! ¬¬ and he had vitiligo, he didn't just turned white from a day to another... ¬¬
I hate this type of narration so ignorant and then some of the people speaking especially the Caucasian guy earlier who said something about being freak stfu just accept MJ was and is more talented and skillful then your average his family is talented his dad was a talent singer as well its in the DNA the reason for his success is because of the way his parents raised him he was a hustler and he was intelligent he knew what he was doing the media can never destroy his legacy
@SholaMind21 i agree, michael skin could of been blue, he would still be black, skin dosnt determn your race, he was and will ever be an african american icon and music legend, and michael never denied being black, infact i think after his vitiligo he was even more proud to be black if u here his interviews, in his words he says i am honored to be black , its just the media and many tv specials etc, that try to turn the people against him
he was in the(The Oz) not the (The Whiz) if your going to talk about Michael Jackson talk about him right and get all the facts straight before you put it out to the world
@ShoeTossLady i didn't like that either alot of ppl say that. i really didnt like the part..he was a black icon that turned into a white superstar..c'mon he always was a black icon.
I remember seeing Michael on tv and seeing the way ppl admired him. I was watching the oprah interview and saw him with toys and rides. He was so shy. This man was my hero when I was little. I could not believe that I found someone like me. I loved the person who he was and now. But when I grew into my teens. I hardly did not see him. Then when I saw him in 2003 I just cried when I saw him. He looked happy but lonely sometimes. I wanted to hug him and tell him that everythign is gonna be aiight.

WTF , Just because he had vitiligo and he turned white doesn't mean his race changed too , and he never ever proclaimed himself as the king of pop
and even if he did it's OK , cause he was the greatest of all time
fuck off haters

@ShoeTossLady that abbreviated title "king of pop" was always a problem, the media always say the self proclaimed king of pop
but if you say the real title it will always the undisputed "king of pop, rock and soul", the only "king of pop, rock and soul"
if you say king of pop, it is the self proclaimed
but if you say "king of pop, rock and soul", it is the undisputed
several rock artists are considered king of pop (nirvana, bono) , but the only one "king of pop, rock and soul is michael jackson

why are all the stars from the United Kingdom being interviewed? why does the interviewer have a british accent? isn't VH1 an american company?

@ShoeTossLady there are many people that have said he was the one that gave himself that title. elizabeth taylor takes credit for it though.

"He's the black icon who became a white superstar"
SERIOUSLY???
HE WAS BORN BLACK. HIS PARENTS ARE BLACK. HIS GRANDPARENTS ARE BLACK.. SO WHAT DOES THAT MAKE HIM..? B.L.A.C.K.
Just because he had Vitiligo it doesn't mean all of a sudden he's "white".
That's like callin an Albino White because of the colour of their skin? IGNORANT FOOL.
