For the tensioner it has a spring that rests on left u can't miss it really... The tension is always at o about 530 where the t handle hole is...just make sure there is about a 45 angle deflection on all three sides... Or tighter... And for the person with the cam bolt problem leave the belt on then loosen them...it's easier thy way... Peace
Thank you very much for these videos, plain and simple. I have a 1987 Nissan 300ZX, 1990 Infiniti M30, and 2003 Nissan Xterra that all use the VG30E. This is a big help.
i have a 2001 nissan xterra i replaced the timing belt ,timing belt tensioner ,spring , thermostat , water pump and all the accessory belts ,the mechanic charged me $610.00 but now it is making a whining sound at lower rpm . the timing belt might be too tight ? i took it back to the mechanic and he told me to drive it couple hundred miles to let the timing belt seat that the whining sound will go away what do you think about that ?
I am in progress with my 02 and I got stuck with the camshaft sprocket. I can't seem to get it loose. I didn't know I was not suppose to rotate them separately. Do you think I damage my valves..
Awesome... I have a Pathfinder 96 SE...the organization is almost exact as the 2000-2004 xterra... Thanks for the video...I'm in the process of changing the same parts right now and looks exactly the same way as this video
i ust posted a messege for you but for some reason i dont see it let me know if you need any help acually all the cars are about the same they all have the marks for the timemming belt , and the same parts , .
the mechanic is right is the tensioner they may not change it when they did the job , and of cours they made the problem they new that was gonna happen soon
they sure it change the tensioner, the 2 seals ,and the water pump, at the same time
this is like when you change the clutch in a car you do the clutch , the pressure plate and the trown bearing everything at the same time so no problems wil come soon .
and this what just happened to you , they did a duty work on your car the tensioner is only $40 now will cost you more because of them here in ny that job is $1600-1800 i dont know where you are but money is money
Can you please explain how did you remove old camshaft seals and put new ones. L left you same message on another video just in case you missed that one. Please explain the steps.
if you bought a after market timming belt it wont fit the marks .
you gonna have to start with the passenger side mark with the one at the bottom , and wont be left to right now dont forget only if you have a after market belt . let me know how it works

I noticed the marks on the drivers side dont match up with the belt. Mine is the same way. Does that really matter?
