  • His motions are pretty smooth, but he's not the most flexible one I have seen.

Not bad, but /those/ guys are something to watch.

  • woow

  • very good

  • at 1:49 i expect him to shout MORE WINE!! lol

  • your suppose to dance and do these movements and make your opponent

    a) laugh his ass off and leave you alone

    b) impress him with your wierd dance and make him leave you alone.

  • It's called a form if you knew anything about martial arts you would know this. Go die you stupid kid.

  • @Saltychips789 Oh! Sorry I didn't understand the purpose of forms practice. My teacher explained it to me and reminded me how foolish it is to mock martial arts that I have never studied or know anything about. After a second non-biased view, I can now clearly see the benefits this training would be in combat. I will try to be more respectful in the future when confronted with something I am ignorant of.

  • Great to see Master Marshall still at it..This is definately the best performance I've ever seen him do.

  • love drunken boxing...sadly make me try doing it and i end up just doing belly flops onto the floor T_T

  • great performance of skill and technique. beautiful to watch.. not so many practitioners of drunken fist left, so its good to see that there are people out there that can pass it on in its true beauty and form, and aplicated righ,t its truly an effective form for self defense. nicely done. greetings from a fellow martial artist from norway :-)

  • his form is a little to rigid, Zui Quan is suppose to be more relaxed and flowing while maintaining your center, but neither the less very nice....this guy is good

  • Agree, I find women to be more lose when they do it and it comes out a bit more natural. Like Pamela's video. But this master is incredibly talented and I like that you can see the power behind the attack with him. Some others perform the drunken art very good, but they seem not to be enforcing the fighting part. Like if they were doing it for show. This guys you can tell he is a fighter and that he can beat up people with it. I don't know if you guys fallow my point.

    5 STARS and favorite :D

  • @Eugene007440

I do see what you mean though, you can see the strength he would be able to strike with, and age may be a factor in loss of flexibility. He does seem to put more emphasis on offense then a lot of other videos do.

  • that, sir, was fantastic! Always beautiful when a form is performed so well, I'm impressed :)

  • ai man, drunken boxing is cool^^

  • Great job shifu! I need to work on drunken for drunken vs monkey.

  • awesome. : ]

  • Lol! Awesome!@ This really makes me want to learn drunken boxing.

  • the skill ohhh i want the skill lol. Nice work

  • Heh heh heh, try parrying THAT!

  • Very nice, Sean....always brings back great memories. Actually, I was the cameraman for this Clip! Blessings to you and your loved ones, all the way from Puerto Rico.

can't wait to see you in PR again

  • This Northern Drunken Boxing which is different from the Eight Drunken Immortals found in some Southern Kung fu styles( Pak hok pai and Choy lee fut) which employs more "cup hooks" techniques

  • I like the Zui Quan performances, but I was curious if there were more combative demos around.

It's funny when someone says to me "Drunken Boxing would always lose in an MMA fight". Well, the whole point of the style was an element of surprise. You're stripped of that as soon as they know you're experienced in drunken boxing, no matter how good you are.

  • Thanks for the compliment. There are many great zui quan clips online!

  • I would disagree with the notion that surprise is the whole point of zui quan.

It is only one of many elements of the style. Zui quan has a rich cultural element, ditong elements, and the element of centering from awkward positions etc

The reason I am attracted to it is simply cause its fun. I doubt that MMA fighters could do a form to save their life! If you want to be a fighter than fight, don't waste time on forms! If you want to be a martial artist then learn the whole package.

    take care

  • The element of surprise isn't "surprise im using drunken!", but rather the angle of attack and the general deceiving appearance. Anybody would recognize drunken when they see it, that doesn't mean it's still not surprising...

  • Absolutely correct. Also theres the fun element of surprise as in "you thought I was drunk, but surprise -I'm really not!"

  • snuggl3s is totally correct. Thumbs up.

  • Nice spirit, crisp form great flow. What school of drunken boxing is this from ?

  • Thanks for the compliments

I've studied drunken boxing w/ Nick Gracenin, Hu JianQiang, and Zhang AnJi. This is mostly Coach Nick's form. He told me it is traditional division for competition.

  • Does master Gracenin teach the usage of this wonderful form ? Can you use it in a fight ? thanx (and bravo... it is such a pleasure to the eyes)

  • Master Gracenin taught many possible applications for the form. I would use anything in a fight (just more tools in the toolbox). Thank you for the compliment Sir.

  • hey sean i just gotta say is there any drunken fist school in PR and if not is it posible to find a teacher here in puerto rico because i such a fan of drunken boxin its my favorite style of kungfu if u could help me on this i would be really greatfull oh and awsome presentation by the way

  • i have wanted too learn this style for a long time...does anyone have any idea if there are skools in canberra? iv looked in so many places and been unsuccessful.... if u kno of any plz help!

  • Just look for a Wushu club. Usually one of the forms of Chang Quan being taught would be Zuijiuquan

  • What I don't understand is why no one does these performances and expos WITH THE FRICKIN' BOTTLE... it gives a little more visual aid, and its part of the style.

  • Very impressive :)

  • Really like this performance

  • First! Lol jk. Mr. Marshall is my Shifu at Jing Ying. It's cool seeing him on Youtube. :)
