Hey everyone. According to a recent interview at Japan Expo 2011 between French Tales fansite Kingdom of Tales and Tales executive Makoto Yoshizumi, it appears there might be a decent future for us Western Tales fans.

A localization of Tales of Xillia will not depend on how good the sales of Tales of Graces F are, but on fan demand. He even stated that doing what we did before (spamming Namco's Facebook account) will definitely be one way to demonstrate demand. We should also send emails.

The thing is Graces doesn't get released until 2012 so even if we buy millions of copies they'd still need to acquire VAs and translators for this game. Long story short if it does get localized we won't see it until late 2012/early 2013 at least. And by then people would be hyped for the next Tales game.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Jude Mathis is the main healer in this game.

Seriously, the main healer being a female character is really starting to become cliche'.

And I only know of two other male characters who were main healers:

Angelo, from Level 5 and Square Enix's Dragon Quest VIII,

and Roland, from Gearbox Software and 2K Games' Borderlands.

And I'm hoping that Jude Mathis will be the third male character, that I know of, who is the main healer.

I don't think that there is a fan translation. I still believe that you shouldn't have much trouble with playing the game anyway though. The walkthroughs have a fair amount of translation in them as well.

@Stickmaleboy It is. For me at least. Some think Abyss is the best Tales of, some think it is Symphonia. I never found Abyss to be nearly as good as Symphonia (still a superb game). It all comes down to opinion. And I love the Tales of franchise (hell my top 3 games of all time are Symphonia, Vesperia and Graces ...), jrpgs are my favourite kind of games. And I always thought that Tales beats FF 10 times. ... So, I think its fine for me that I call ToS the best game ever, for now at least. ;D

@FlamingPain I love Symphonia myself and it's my favorite RPG game to date.

But the reasons I like it is simply for the fact that you can choose who your soulmate is( instead of being with the main female all the time). And I praise it cause it had the most largest and creative bestiary in all the Tales games. Every game after Symphonia kept using the same monster models from Abyss, including this game too unfortunately, and they are becoming far too boring and predictable.

The beauty of the Tales series is that it doesn't have to jump on the bandwagon of "super realistic graphics" to be great. The story is always fantastic and that's what I buy games for!
