The problem here, is that he'd overlooking the main issue: i.e. that every state is a sovereign nation unto itself, and the United States is no more binding, than the United Nations.

Slavery was likewise a strawman issue, to make African-Americans into the poster-children against secession. However it would be like the US taking over every nation that practices slavery today; we recognize that's protected by national sovereignty. Same with the South. in 1861-- they were SOVEREIGN NATIONS.

I'm a Yankee. The war wasn't about slavery, and the Emancipation Proclamation didn't free slaves in Maryland. It was about controlling the resources of the South and keeping them out of the hands of hillbilly shitkicking redneck white trash southerners. The torching of Columbia is one of the most magnificent moments in American history. Lew Rockwell is a kiddie fiddler, btw, and Ron Paul raped his own father, who shit out the spermy shitty mix which became both Ron Paul's siblings and children.

The North always touts that they were against slavery, but they weren't interested in the rights of blacks. The original Oregon Constitution forbade any blacks from living in that state.

@efrem1 Every Northern state had constitutions that controlled and maintained the solid white majority. People don't understand today because we are not educated on Constituional Government. People see that there is nothing in the Federal Constitution that appears what is deemed Racist aside from the slavery portion and are shown when actions were first taken in the North legislatively to end the institution (and deport the freed slaves in most states) and think the North was this Utopia.

Northerners didn't see the black minority that emerged after their slaves were freed and most of them removed as a threat in their region because the pervading opinion on the subject was that they would be assimilated into the majority in a few generations. Look at the North like it was back then it is today overwhelmingly white. Especially New England at 98%. If you look at reactions towards them in areas that had no exposure it was always one of surprise and fear.

This is a bit disingenuous. The reason the South wanted to secede was to allow them to continue their unconstitutional practice of slavery. So, if slave ownership in the South was to be practiced again, they should be allowed to secede from the Union in order to allow them to engage in a patently unconstitutional practice? The emancipation proclamation was written simply to document what the Constitution, and Jefferson, had already made clear, that all men had certain Rights.

Though I certainly am not a slavery supporter, it was in fact protected by the US Constitution. Please read your history. There was nothing at all unconstitutional about it. Had it been so, most States would not have joined the US because in the beginning practically all of them had slavery - even the Northern States. Please read your history.

Its not their fault most were taught that was the true reason why. They also didnt learn that while the west heald onto the gold and silver they foud while mineing. the east both north and south had dryed up with coinage and needed money that is when the bank of england tried to creep in. the north forbid its scams but the south did make deals with the redcoats of england. Cotton and sugar for guns and ammo.

@Jesse8501 That shows an inability to critically think. Look at the South today. It is a stable happy region. I would say the happiest in our empire. If each state had full control of it's area there would not suddenly be this movement to create chaos and destruction. All people seek peace and want a good life for themselves and their children. The media pegs white southerners as evil but how many white southerners do we see on TV committing crimes and stirring up trouble?

@concussedcarneous Abolitionists were a crazy fringe group. The majority in the North and the South new that the only thing that could come from instantaneous abolition was mass death and starvation. But the Abolitionists didn't care about the slaves or free men's well being in the south. All they cared about was the slaves status because they did not believe that god would accept them into heaven as slaves. That was the sole motivation for their movement.

@DelSpaarky Actually the reason the South left was because we could no longer stand new england. The North profited from and protected slavery. The Corwin amendment had it been ratified would have protected slavery forever. Lincoln pinned everything on slavery and helped pass the 13th Amendment so he could control that region that was now in Anarchy. Slavery was not ended but the groundwork laid for it's expansion over all of America. We are all voluntary servants now. Feds decide our rights.

This is a great vid. Hitler used Lincoln's logic and his centralization of the US as an example for his national socialism agenda in the 30's. It's just sad what we lost and how corrupt and evil our government is now.
