However, sometimes the devs don't do a very great job on porting games over to the PS3 so it ends up being worse than the Xbox version. The graphics varies depending on what game. I have both 2k12 and black ops on both consoles. Black ops looked amazing on the Xbox 360 slim. While 2k12 was stunningly smooth on the ps3. You can't really compare them online because fanboys can easily fake videos. How I wish everyone played on a goddamn gaming PC.
When you're watching a movie, the images you see are frames that are individually recorded on the disc. In this case, a larger disc means you have more space for each recorded frame, consequently it can have a higher quality.
Games are completely different. The images you see are not stored on the disc, they are rendered in real-time by the GPU. For games, the disc you use makes no difference whatsoever, what matters is how fast the GPU is.

Second, the Xbox 360 does support 1080p, and just like the PS3 is has a few downloadable games that run at that resolution. It's not like 1080p support is important to mention though, because NEITHER actually use that resolution in mainstream games. The huge majority of games in both platforms is rendered at 720p or less.

First of all, the GPU doesn't read code from the disc, it only accesses its own VRAM. Similarly, the ammount of data the GPU can use is limited by the VRAM size (256 MB), not by the size of the optical disc. Blu-ray doesn't affect visual quality at all, it only allows longer games.
Take Crysis as an example. It's much more technically complex than anything ever released on the consoles, yet it fits in a single DVD.

Xbox360 has sharper textures, antiaaliasing instead of blur and higher framerate in most of multiplatform games. If you can't deal with it - go buy an xbox. It's true that PS3 is more powerfull - I agree with that - but developers have no time to optimize their games for this console because it's harder than Xbox360 programming. If you love PS3 exclusives - buy PS3 - they look fantastic but if you play mostly multiplatform games - buy an xbox - they look better here.

Yes ps3 has 1080p and the xbox 360 has 1080i (but is better with 720p) but the ps3 can't get better on most hf the games... @PimpMatt0 Not most, some of them. Most games are developed on the Xbox first, then afterwards they port it over to the PS3. However, sometimes the devs don't do a very great job on porting games over to the PS3 so it ends up being worse than the Xbox version. Few examples are, Bioshock, Need for speed undercover, Oblivion, Fallout 3, and assassins creed. But now since most of the developers understand the PS3s coding, the games look exactly the same.

The graphics varies depending on what game. I have both 2k12 and black ops on both consoles. Black ops looked amazing on the Xbox 360 slim. While 2k12 was stunningly smooth on the ps3. You can't really compare them online because fanboys can easily fake videos. How I wish everyone played on a goddamn gaming PC.

When you're watching a movie, the images you see are frames that are individually recorded on the disc. In this case, a larger disc means you have more space for each recorded frame, consequently it can have a higher quality.
Games are completely different. The images you see are not stored on the disc, they are rendered in real-time by the GPU. For games, the disc you use makes no difference whatsoever, what matters is how fast the GPU is.

Second, the Xbox 360 does support 1080p, and just like the PS3 is has a few downloadable games that run at that resolution. It's not like 1080p support is important to mention though, because NEITHER actually use that resolution in mainstream games. The huge majority of games in both platforms is rendered at 720p or less.

I think this video was made by a Xbox fanboy and he just made it out to seem that the Xbox 360 is superior. The PS3 has better graphics when it comes to offline gaming. Xbox 360 has better graphics when it comes to online gaming. It's a win-win no matter what. You still get the same great experience, the same great graphics, and the same quality if you play in HDMI. The only difference is that you pay $50 a month to play online if you have an Xbox.

the ps3, xbox, and wii basically are computers/pcs. but they are computers/pcs that have games optimized for their specific cpu/gpu chip. consoles(excluding the nintendo wii) actually trick you into having really good graphics but it actually doesn't. so a regular gaming pc will always have better graphics.

The blu-ray player allows you to Open the cd and run the data inside , Blu-Ray discs were made to Hold very BIG HD videos most hd videos like movies are 14gb thats why Blu-Ray was invented to hold data . First of all, the GPU doesn't read code from the disc, it only accesses its own VRAM. Similarly, the ammount of data the GPU can use is limited by the VRAM size (256 MB), not by the size of the optical disc. Blu-ray doesn't affect visual quality at all, it only allows longer games.
Take Crysis as an example. It's much more technically complex than anything ever released on the consoles, yet it fits in a single DVD.

It's true that PS3 is more powerfull - I agree with that - but developers have no time to optimize their games for this console because it's harder than Xbox360 programming. If you love PS3 exclusives - buy PS3 - they look fantastic but if you play mostly multiplatform games - buy an xbox - they look better here.
